I had an unbelievably awesome time last year. Unfortunately just cant afford the flight this year. Just knowing how cool it's gonna be, and that I wont be there - it's hurtin' man.

I've wanted to at least apply for five years running now. Various things have prevented it (kids' births, my wife and I both being laid off one year, etc.), but I swear it, I WILL BE THERE NEXT YEAR!!!
I've not felt this excited since

I was a little kid waiting for Father Christmas (Santa to you Yanks) to bring me my presents, I feel like a little kid again, I'm counting the days and hours until BNAT and I have butterflies in my stomach as I eagerly anticipate the geek goodness which I know will transpire before my very eyes in just a few days time. YAY! Indeed.
hhmmm off topic

Harry said the same thing last year about not needing to show up early for the stand-by line, but people who showed up early got a chance to get in, and those who showed up on time were told to leave. I suggest you get there at least a couple of hours early if you want a chance.
I'm ready to go!

One of these years, when I have the time, I'm going to apply to come down there and attend a BNAT myself.

What about the standby lines for PAN'S LABYRINTH and CHILDREN OF MEN? Still a chance to get in to those, except they ARE first come first in...

I had a lot of really BIG predictions, but after Harry's 9-Day-Dilemma I'm scared to hope for some of them. Dream come true? Any or all of Grind House, with introductions by the directors.
I live here in Austin and get in to these things

But I've usually seen 98% of the films anyway - except the damn cool sneaky-pete early screenings of shit. Harry, I'll be standing outside chanting "Attica! Attica!"
so....

I'm thinking about taking my chances in the stand by line... but where would I park my car (in the off-chance that I do get in). Does the Drafthouse have parking?
The Drano crack...

Harry, are you talking to me? Are YOU talking to me? I think I am the only one to have ever imbibed Drano in the history of the universe (actually I also put it in my brother's canteen and gave it to him to drink but he spit it out. We were both rushed to the hospital to have our stomachs pumped. I was about 2 years old). Someone apparently remembered one of my BNAT applications from the past. Can't wait for BNAT, BNAT, BNAT!!!! YAY!!! Go have your well deserved R & R cause this weekend we're going to party like it's your birthday.
does anyone else find it ironic

that a site known for "spy" reports, wants to eliminate spying from its own events with the no electronics rule? Harry and aintitcool have sold out and become 'The Man'!

There's parking right next to the Alamo, but it's usually $5 to $10. Don't know if they would charge differently since you would be there all day. There is also a parking garage about a block down.

Thanks. I know about those garages, I just don't know about a)24 hour parking and b)if the Alamo has special parking set aside for this event (it seems at least somewhat logical that they would to me).
