Until the biggest travesty and killer of suspension of disbelief happened when he was defeated by Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. WTF???? How foolish can a script get? Who actually wrote "Danner Glover defeats Jet Li"?? Too much drugs in Hollywood.

And I'd be totally against baggier clothes. The question I had sent was about if the criticism on that film, even to this day, still bothered him. Because it bugs me. You guys should watch it again. It's awesome. And Whitesnake? Holy crap! I can just imagine him singing "Here I Go Again", with Dolly rolling around on a car. It's a shame that didn't work out. I think I'm addicted to this Q&A thing already. I've been refreshing for hours.

One person cannot beat two, period? Where do you get that from? Someone who knows how to fight such as Jet Li could easily take on multiple opponents. As someone said, most people don't know how to fight, and one that does could wreck a bunch of them at once. If Jet Li was pissed and got into a fight with two middle-aged, about-to-retire cops in hand to hand combat, Li would just destroy them.

Someone like Tito Ortiz could literally kill him in a fair fight (to the death) - remember what happened to Jean Claude Canned Ham when he got outta line with Chuck Zito at that titty bar (a real fighter and former Stallone bodygaurd) - all that karate goes out the window when your pinned to the floor and getting pummeled

Li started as a Wushu fighter, winning national championships, which led to his acting career. He started fight training when he was 8. Ortiz is a lot younger than Li and is still in competition. Who would win if both were in fighting shape is speculation. My point was that a fighter is capable of taking on two people at once.

sure - a "fighter" can take on 2 people at once - and possibly win - but it depends on the "fighter" and the 2 people he is fighting - real fighting - especially with multiple assailants/opponents is nothing like what we see in jet li movies - its chaos - mayhem - no grace and no tandem combat - have you ever been rushed by 2 or more guys that wanted to kick your ass - its scary and none of it happens in slo mo - i guarantee you that right now there are guys walking around in the world that dont know karate and never heard of jet li but could break the likes of him in half if it came down to it - plus - he is like 5 feet tall and weighs about 145-50 soakin wet - a fiat cant stop a freight train - i bet i can fight (and defeat) 2 robots at the same time - i am a master of mushu and a loud screamer

and Randy Cobb are just 2 other "karate" actors that i can think of that could (in their primes) mop the floor with Jet Li (in his prime - especially if he reached his prime at the age of 11) - mastering the ability to beautifully dance in a big circle with a sword doesnt make someone the "best fighter" in the world - maybe the best wushu exhibitionist - but not the best fighter

I will never in my life forget being both a part of and a witness to the experience of "ROCKY", back in the day. I've never witnessed such an audience reaction to a movie. I don't recall if I was standing in my seat... but the entire audience was on their feet, yelling during the fight in the big finale as if it was a LIVE sporting event. I remember hearing "Come on, Rock!" "Knock 'em out, Rock!" among the many shouts and screams. And when the fight was over and that announcement of the winner was made and that powerful music was just pooring from those speakers, everyone seemed to be completely numb as all eyes were glued to the screen. I remember sharing many emotions with the audience... and you simply felt like your heart was going to explode several feet in front of you. It was such an emotionally powerful moment and despite all else, along with the rush of that unforgettable music, you knew that Rocky's heart was victorious. --Yeah, I'm going to go see this last installment with a buddy of mine whom also remembers the Rocky flicks quite fondly. Let's just hope we don't get kicked out for shouting and standing in our seats. (heh, heh)

Com'on, didn't you guys pick up on it? 'Talked' to her for 2 hours... in his hotel room?!?!? Does he have to spell it out for you? She's MORE WELL ENDOWED THAN YOU KNOW!!!! The best time you had.... "RHINESTONE... WITH DOLLY!!!". and the 'whitesnake' reference, for those of us who are a bit slow! Tell us more, Sly! I know what my question to sly would be!
Stallone's IQ

I wonder why so many people are surprised by Stallone's wits and brains. It has always been known that the man is very smart and he shouldn't be judged just by his movies. Stallone is one of these actors who mostly gave audiences what they wanted of him, which was to be a tough and strong action star. This might be one of the reasons why his star went down once these movies were no longer fashionable, but I think it tells a lot more about his audience than the man himself. I am thoroughly enjoying this little Advent Calender even tough I think that there are too many questions on the "Rocky" movies in it. Please Harry, give us some more variety.

Is Sly's assistant doing to dirty work? Or just taking dictation from Stallone, then maybe embellishing them with his/her own little pieces of flair. I know I complain about when Harry gets these Q and A's up, but c'mon...it is past 24 hours since the last post and still no Sly/Assistant answering "our" questions. From what Harry has said in previous posts, we only have Sly and his Assistant to blame for the delay, so I guess I should be bitching to them. At the same time, I do enjoy these little Q and A's so I guess I just eat my own shit and wait.

In the article, he comes across pretty much the same way as in this online chat. He knows who he is and knows his mistakes, but he is also willing to take a risk and do it on HIS terms. When his wife asked why he wanted to do another Rocky sequel, he said he'd rather do bad at something he loves than do well at something he hates. You have to respect that on any level.

People just have to realise it's not the original nor is it the typical American action film. I really liked it, I enjoyed the writing, acting and directing, what else is there?

light comedy (he's a natural), a drama (like copland), and play a BMF badguy (enuf w/ rahredemption). on another note why'd people think he'd be a meat-head actor? dude's been an actor/director since the beginning so he must have a noggin for intelligent wit up there.
