it's of course not the first time I notice that. It's interesting how you can feel home on this site and still have kind of a different aesthetic sense. I mean that I have a lot in common in taste and interest but I come from a different culture....I never was a comic book nerd.. It's hard to explain. Still it's funny and healthy to see all that...

don't buy anything this Christams. Why does everybody feel they need to celebrate Dec. 25th by spending their hard earned dollars on shit we don't need. And if you don't believe in Christ then why celebrate at all? With all this "gift" giving shouldn't we re-name holiday with a more appropriate name? Fatten the Corporate Wallet Day perhaps.

Terry Brooks' ARMAGEDDON'S CHILDREN continues the story of the Word and the Void series in a cool, fun to read manner, that connects past, present, future, and fantasy. Should have been on the list.

this is the only DC title released in Absolute format that i didn't already own in paperback. it's absolutely stunning though (and a great read to boot), and it's convinced me to upgrade my other books to Absolute editions when my cash situation is a little better. for something a little cheaper though, pick up Black Hole and Pride of Baghdad. both would make great gifts for anyone, comic-reader or no.

You can't read a book, but you have time to read this site? Get off your high horse or stop making excuses for your being too lazy to read. I highly doubt that you spend every waking minute (every waking minute that your not on AICN, that is) assisting charitable cases.

Sadly someone seems to confuse graphic novel with book. Two different beasts. Try these authors, Terry Pratchett, Jasper Fforde, and Robert Rankin. Damn near everything ever written by the terrible trio is awesome and original. Some even have pictures.
Okay. I admit. Super Grover by Ross makes me weep.

I mean, I support graphic novels as literature, but you really could have had more "regular" books on this list.
