Blindsight was wonderful. As was The Lives of Others, Time and, of course, Pan's Labyrinth. But Blindsight was my favorite.
I also heard good things about Ten Canoes

...go into more detail about TV JUNKIE. Unless it ends up on the Independent Film or Sundance channels, I'm never going to see it. I can understand not giving details about mainstream work that's more available to the public, but with these kinds of films you have to go into more detail! Especially with the way you set up the movie in your article; "TV JUNKIE is probably the toughest sit I’ve had so far out of all the films I’ve seen from this festival" , "and there are moments here where I just wanted to knock the camera out of his hand and shake him." , "but be warned... this is a rough ride." Jesus Christ, man. "I don't want to spoil it for you" only goes so far.

I can't wait to see "Bobby", "The Host", "Pan's Labyrinth" (which replaced a film about a documentary on a woman that was suposedly gang-raped by MGM execs during the 1930's due to legal problems), "The History Boys", and "Come Early Morning". I wish I had the time to catch "The Last Wave", "Secaucus 7", or that Orson Welles documentary.

Standing in for a victim

God knows how they gonna translate it this time - Playing a victim, Imitating a victim - something like that, but you should check out the recent winner of the Roma Film Festival. It's a rather artsy-bizarre Russian flick by a very hip Russian theatre director based on a very hip play about a guy who makes a living by playing murder victims in police crime scene reconstructions. So he is being strangled in a porta potty or drowned in a pool by the actual confessed murderers (whose confessions are being taped for the trials) all the way thinking about his father's untimely death and whether his mom's screwing his brother had anything to do with it... Quite cool movie actually.

Check out the otherwise atrocious "Center of the World" - she's a naughty little girl.
Moriarty is way too kind on 2:37. One of the worst....

Oh, I've seen CENTER OF THE WORLD, all right. It's just that after seeing her all prim and proper for the last few years, always dressed in layers and layers of bustles and dresses and frilly what-have-yous, it's a bit of a shock to the system to see her pretty much stripped down again. And, WrongGuy, I didn't think 2:37 was anywhere near the worst film ever. It's got problems, but it's also got some nice performance work, and I think it gets closer to the way kids feel like every single event in high school is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING EVER than a lot of films do. And did I mention all the cute Australian girls?

It's ben a really long time since I saw it, but I've never forgotten it. I keep meaning to buy/rent it, but seeing on a bigger screen could be very interesting.
