Having grown up in Miami in the late sixties/early seventies, I'm sure I'll find it interesting. The place was a ghost town around that time, and ripe for the taking. Speaking of "Scarface" - I remember when Miami basically kicked the production out of the city...only a few shots were filmed in the area. And for those of you who don't know Florida history, Henry Flagler (January 2, 1830 – May 20, 1913) was a tycoon, real estate promoter, railroad developer and Rockefeller partner in Standard Oil. He was a key figure in the development of the eastern coast of Florida along the Atlantic Ocean and was founder of what became the Florida East Coast Railway. He is known as the father of Miami, Florida, which he basically created as a destination for his railroad.

I don't think the fascination that people have with Scarface / Tony Montana is beacause of the Cocaine factor, that just happens to be the "product" he was moving. People gravitate to the character for other reasons.

btw REDD: In the new game the first thing you do as Tony is...turn around and shoot the guy with the shotgun before he gets to you. Hard to believe huh? Der People gravitate to Scarface because it's message is easy for dumshit basehead wigger's to get their nobby little heads around: first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women....and 20 years later you get the gaggle of asshats praising everything about you from the way you beat your women to the sweat from your nuts. Oh and it was really well written and perfectly executed. Blow is not in the same league. At all. This movie looks awesome. Rockstar games should make a game based on it. Not like Vice City, I mean like a real reigns off cocaine bananza. Since everyone knows Paul Haggis will somehow step outside his usual practice of writing TERRIBLE movies like Crash and make some called Medillin...why'd you bring it up? Lastly, stop being pricks. As for Scarface, I don't know what coked up marketing genius got a hold of that property 5-7 years ago but every 12 year old member of the food court mafia I see in the mall has a Scarface t-shirt on. Not because it wasn't AUTHENTIC or TUFF or whatever, just because it was stupid and insulted the audience and sucked. My favorite drug slang irony is twofold: in Texas in the 90s they called weed "killa," and yet in Northern Canada they call PCP "Peace." Irony being that the "killa" trade was all hippies and stoned graffiti cholos and the "peace" trade was terrifying Rock Machine MC guys. Well used to be, I realize Rock Machine got absorbed. Man, NOTHING can touch PCP. Those cheap caplets of the pure are the only thing I miss about that frozen stygian wasteland called "North of the mason-dixon line."
