Why do I laugh out loud every time the Monarch calls Phantom Limb a "dick"?. I liked when the Monarch referred to Iggy Pop as "Spicoli". Hey Family Guy - THAT'S how you make a pop culture reference

been a little disapointed with the second season? Don't get me wrong, here have been some excellent episodes but there seems to be something lacking. Oh well, still one of the best shows on television.

Just catch it in the second block. Sure, that may be late, but hook up your VCR, punk. Or get TiVo. TiVo solves all your scheduling problems. (Well, most of them. Wednesday is still a disaster for network TV.)

I agree that this season has been missing that special something, though on the whole it has still be amazing. I think any time they go for a reference-heavy show it's a winner (yes I know this is every show, but I mean the entire main plot.) My choices for best eps this season (waiting on finale on tv instead of the fix): the Hunter S. Thompson/Apocalypse Now ep, Scooby Doo Gang, Finale Pt. 1 (Bowie & henchmen!), and the most surreal one had to be with Hank attacking Rusty while tripping and chanting Doors lyrics. Let's just hope we don't have to wait as long for new eps this time. Discussion topic: Will people be buying this season on DVD? I'm still on the fence.... Also, will they or won't they pick up Korgoth for real? That was the best of the new shows I've seen

Damn I luvs me some Venture Bros.! This is the ONLY show on TV currently that makes me laugh out loud each and every week. God willing and the Cremation Creeks dont rise,we'll get a 3rd season, but if not this episode is a great one to go out on! Now if only CN would get off their asses and give us some Venture merchandise to buy...
You can just watch it on Adult Swim Fix right now.

Somebody tell me what the hell was up with Dean's Giant Boy Detective trip? Did I miss something in Part 1? Anyways, Venture Bros is probably the funniest damn thing on TV now that Arrested Development is dead. And please, AS, PLEASE, pick up Korgoth for a full season. That shit's genius.

I think what happened is that when Dean discovered he was locked in the engine room and no one was coming to help, he finally just snapped. I guess suppressing all the traumatic stuff from the family's adventures (like all the stuff he rambles on about when freeing the "orphans") finally caught up with him.

.... now there was a band!!" - Funniest line I heard all year. I have also alienated 85% of my friends (more than usual) by quoting the Ventures Bros outta context on a daily basis for the last 6 months. Came to the show late after listening to Herc's recommendation for the Season 1 DVD. Unlike some of you guys above, i've preferred the 2nd season, I think it's funnier as the on-going storylines pile on top of each other. Now - IGNORE ME!! - (you can see the problems my friends have now, can't you)

For some reason, if a show doesn't air new eps for a few weeks the DVR "forgets" and doesn't record the new eps, even though the menu lists it as one of my scheduled recordings.

That show has a lot of potential. I loved the pilot (youtube it if you missed it, punks). And I don't accept that we live in a world where one has to choose between THE WIRE and VENTURE BROS.-- if we can't have both of those shows, I don't want to see another sunrise.

The Second season while not as funny as season one Is a better show for it. Season one was hilarious, but the plot seemed like only a means for jokes. I hated the first couple episodes of season two because it was so different. The ongoing plot and, yes character development has really made the show stand out. Now the Venture bros. has a mythology about it like it had been lifted from a long running comic book. Also Publick says season two probably on dvd by march and that a super fast green light for season three seems like it’s going to happen.

Both seasons are unbelievable, sure they have a different feel... but the chronology of the show is what makes it so unique and amazing. Of course the first season is going to be very different from the following seasons because characters need to be developed. This season has been a Venture Bros. dream of all the crazy shit that can happen. Showdown... Part 2 tonight was UNREAL! In these two episodes only there has been so much fucking foreshadowing, you true nerds caught all of it too. "Oh you don't know the half of it buddy-boy." INSANE STUFF! This season has only pleased this Venture nut. BEST SHOW ON TELEVISION!

That's what it said at the tail end of the closing credits, anyway, just like the end of a James Bond flick. Oh, and anyone who disses Season 2 obviously never watched "Assassinanny 911." One of my favorite VB eps ever.

By the way, if anyone wants to check out the wedding song performed by Henchmen 21 and 24, here's the MP3 along with the wedding invitation...

...if they pulled the plug on Venture Bros. after Season II. This show has definite legs and I have not shown it to a single person who couldn't appreciate its humor on some level (including some real squares whose concept of Saturday morning cartoons begins and ends with the Smurfs). This show deserves at least as many seasons as Harvey Birdman, seeing as how it's covering a lot of the same ground but about a thousand times more cleverly.

They're the same company, just re-branded. That's why all the World Leaders make a reference to soup, 'That's good Chowdah!', etc. Awesome, awesome, awesome show. "You total poseur! Changes One was a greatest hits!" And the Alchemists final action of the show. Legend.

Different feel
by Oknight
Oct 18th, 2006
07:54:26 AM
The major reason for the different feel is that they're writing more dialog for each episode-- They're having real trouble cramming all that dialog into their timespace. I will take that trade-off any day. And I can't wait to see Triana's friend as a sidekick super-villian.
