dumb. its gonna be like chimpokoman only less people will understand or think its funny because world of warcraft is only a couple of dice rolls south of D&D. average everyday American Joe doesnt know wtf warcraft is. they wanna see fart jokes, mel gibson and tom cruise making out with each other and star jones eating cake while screaming at the view on TV.

Sure, the 18-32 y/o's might be familiar with wow, but will they find it funny? at all? i mean, everyone has already made fun of it. to death. even south park isnt as fast as the internet and all its geeks who make fun of themselves. the average comedy central viewer will either say "wtf is wow?" or "...eh." im expecting a silly ep about internet games being a waste of time. or the kids pretending to be their characters, like in that japanese ninja ep (which was cool, but don't rehash it with elves and crap!) yeeeaaawwwwn! lol. we'll see. im much rather watch the Mark Foley Episode. more "now" and more shocking and more things to say. or To Catch a Predator with Mr Garrison and other characters. Reguardless, Wednesday nights are for LOST and LOST only. anything else on tv tonight is forgotten. South Park is hurting itself by breaking up the season like this. eww! its cable! theres no reason to be doing that! just show us new stuff and be funnier than SNL. that's all we ask of you, Cable. thank you. :)

of becoming as irrelevant as The Simpsons. Granted they haven't been on the air as long, but last season was one of the most boring ever. No episode stood out like in seasons past (Fun with weapons anyone?) . Matt and Trey got too caught up on Hayes leaving and then CM pulling the "Trapped in the closet" episode. Hopefully their focus is back for this season and we can expect a better, funnier season.

Venture Brothers keeps getting funnier and funnier. I still love South Park, Family Guy, Futurama and Simpsons (in that order), but Venture manages to take old adventure cartoon and comic book standards and make you laugh at how silly they are while still managing to keep the action tight and the continuity fresh. Drawn Together could learn something from that. Speaking of funny (semi)animated shows, is anyone else upset with the way the last season of Wondershowzen imploded on itself? I can't even bring myself to re-watch most of the second season.

2.Randy, and Butters couldn't be in the Arathi Highlands at their level and expect to fight anything. It's like a mid-thirties leveled area. And furthermore, they'd have to run there, so they couldn't log back in, in that area, UNLESS they had a Warlock to summon them....

Trust me my friend, I have. I have suffered many deaths in my adventures in the lands of Azeroth. Some heroic, some embarrasing, but each was a learning experience, because it made me a stronger warrior (er, player I mean, I never roll stoopid warriors).

And one day I shall pass all my knowledge down to the noobs that walk the streets of Stormwind that tell the tales of Klu...(oops, almost gave away my character name) ... um Thatguy, and of all the dragons and whatnot he has slain over the er... year (11 months actually) since he first logged in.

Every weekend, they gather in the Blue Recluse and sing songs of my journeys (kinda like that one episode of Firefly) and countless scrumdiddlyumptious Night Elve maidens fight over the chance to spend the night with yours truly. (I tend to take after Alan Rickman in Robin Hood:Prince of Thieves "You my room, 10:30 tonight...You, 10:45...and bring a friend!") I remember the time I caused a near riot in Darnassus. Yikes.

What can I say, chicks dig the dwarfs.

South Park has only used the 80's powerballad montage in a handful of episodes.

They make around 15 shows a year

And they have every right to make fun of Family Guy, because even though it is often hilarious, it's nothing more than a lame stereotypical sitcom plot broken up with a dozen or so, out of the blue, pop culture skits or whatever you call them, that advance the story in no way, shape, or form. At least Matt and Trey are topical, and actually push buttons, unlike Family Guy.

Honestly Zombie, you're giving those fucking manatee's waaay too much credit!

First of all, Shermdawg isn't right about everything -- if a cloak or a weapon isn't bind-on-pickup or bind-on-equip, you can totally trade it to someone else. But yeah, it was a pretty big suspention of disbelief that anyone over, say, a lvl 20 would be getting any xp for killing boars. But then, it's a suspension of disbelief that an Alliance character could kill another Alliance character, too, so I guess you've got to give them some room for creative license. I was kinda hoping you'd hear, "MORE DOTS! MORE DOTS!"

I thought it was freaking hysterical. I've never played WoW, but I've done enough online gaming to get all of the references. Don't tell me that I'm the only one who finds a bunch of computer execs bowing down before a flash drive hilarious. Also, SP never picks on Republicans? They implied that the Republicans were doing satan's bidding by keeping Terry Schaivo alive. And as far as the same plot, they've done that training montage thing like 3 times that I can think of, and one of them was a montage of Randy pummeling other dads at little league games. Come on now, tell me that wasn't classic. Incidentally, Randy is now officially the funniest character on that show.

"YOU CANNOT GIVE SOMEONE A CLOAK YOU'VE ALREADY EQUIPPED ON YOURSELF" Cloaks automatically bind if you equip them.

"You cannot give away items that have already been equipped. So Randy could not have gave away the sword! TOTAL BULLSHIT!" He had the sword in his hand, thus he had it equipped, which means....NO TRADE!

I have yet to see a cloak that wasn't BOE. (Unless the noob gear falls into that category, but I usually go nekkid til around level 10, so I don't know about that.) And outside of Fishing Poles, there isn't any weapons that aren't BOE's.

It's fine if you think Family Guy is funny, but at least admit that it's bad writing. Anyone can come up with funny non-sequiotrs, but writing a story is something different. I wish South Park would prove me wrong. what a terrible ep. wow, games make you fat and stupid! amazing social commentary! breathtaking! i know very little about this WOW crap and i couldn't care less about the show. it just wasnt very funny. at all. they might as well been playing pong online. "i must get the magic paddle of secrets to Stan! i must play Pong!" would have been better than this 30-non-commerical for WoW that shows all its costumers as fat asses who forget about their real lives and shit on their parents. :) lol, because everyone knows its true! what happened to SPs edge??? they used to be amazing and shocking. now they are doing video game cartoons. :/ disappointing. crab people and marklars were better than this. Possibly the stupidest comment I've ever read. South Park at its best is sharp, timely social satire. Family Guy at its best, is something for me to laugh at when I'm drunk. South Park also has been a lot meaner that Family Guy ever is. Have you ever seen the SP episode with the burn victim teacher in the wheelchair? I mean I cringe every time I see that episode, because that is messed up. I admit that I like some of the original episodes of Family Guy. But ever since it has come back, the show is not funny. Non-sequitor humor? All the writers use for "humor" is pop culture references from the 70's and 80's, especially sitcoms. Most of Family Guy's audience may laugh at least jokes, which have nothing to do with the show's "plot", but they are too young to get these jokes. You have to watch VH1's I Love 70's and 80's, before you can get some of the Family Guy references.
Don't hold your breath for the political stuff...

Matt and Trey seem to have an aversion to making fun of the current administration, so a lot of their attempts at political humor aren't terribly biting or relevant. The closest they came was the "giant douche vs. turd sandwich" episode about voting. More likely, they'll pick up a bunch of newspapers and do eps about school shootings, downloading music, and... oh, let's say, how the new Pope is really Mr. Hanky.

Shermdawg, stop spitting out diarrhea. Anyway, loved the episode. I've never played WoW but I know all about it; and the teamspeak dialogue had me on the floor. The only thing missing from this ep was "Lets do this, RANDYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY aghMARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRSH!"

The boar killing reminded me of a miserable period when I had to kill the same 15 Mushrooms on FF VII for a week and change to build stats.Sad,dark days, glad I learned my lesson. That is after FF 7,8,9, and chrono cross and a bad case of PSO on Dreamcast and Gamecube(insanity,i frickin hated that game,it retired me,dear oh dear).I still have friends/accquantinces(soz 4 spolin im on a roll),brass monkeys who play football manager all the time and do not watch real football.Sometimes I feel like Renton, sober while looking at all his addicted friends. That ending summed up the whole level to me.I haven't played WOW and after this episode I think I'm too afraid to ever.Good stuff, looking forward to next week.
Trey & Matt: Neocons....

Richard Cranium, thanks for reminding the poli-sci majors who post here about "That's my Bush". Let's see, what other times have Trey and Matt openly mocked the president? Turd Sandwich? The kindergarten election (the trapperkeeper episode)? Kenny's PSP (Satan using the Republicans like he always does)? The ladder to heaven episode? The Nightline episode two weeks ago where Trey and Matt admitted that they only people whose politics they shared were themselves? The Simpsons used to make fun of Clinton all the time when he was president, no one accused Groening & co. of being arch-conservatives. Why do some people insist on making sweeping judgements about things they clearly know little or nothing about?

As much as I love the independent voice of MP & TS, I don't really think their topical episodes are always the funniest. It was good to see they could still make a hilarious plot-driven (as opposed to issue driven) ep, like they used to. Good mixes of toliet humor, satire, etc. are the key to a good South Park. And the quality that is Venture Bros. is beyond words. Tied right up there with the Office.

"Actually, I've played WoW since Dec., and most of the time I can barely play more than an hour at a time because I find it so boring trying to level grind."

Did you guy's read that? Hmm?

I DON'T play the game sixteen hours a day, which obviously, you guys think that all WoW players do. I'd never have the patience put in that much of a gaming session, since it moves at such a snails pace. I usually solo, i.e. I hardly group with others, which is part of the core game strucure, and the part that demands the most of your time.

Unless you are super lucky to find a good guild, you usually end up with a bad taste in your mouth from group play, mostly from deserters, stolen loot, or just plain idiotic gamers that ends up getting the whole team killed.

Unfortunately, my main is almost fully leveled up at this point, so I'm forced to partake in group play, if I choose to, to get any of the highend gear. :(

I keep being labeled a "nerd" for bringing up basic knowledge you learn within the first week or so of playing WoW. I'm sorry, but if I've played off and on for eleven months or so, and didn't know the basics by now, I shouldn't be playing the game in the first place.

Why is bringing things involving WoW in a WoW themed talkback such a problem? If it were a Star Trek themed episode or whatever, and they had inaccuracies, you'd get longass post after longass pointing out those mistakes. Sure you'd have the occasional person flame the posters as "nerds" or "geeks" or worse, it's expected. Just like it's expected with WoW. But since I'm the only one speaking from the WoW player perspective, I'm understandably singled out.

I know some of you here on AICN, are Warcraft players, because some have hinted as such, but many don't give a shit about being labeled, and remain in the closet. Which I don't understand, because, despite the "cool" title this site has, isn't this a haven for geeks? Or people that may not fit the stereotypical definition of a "geek", but have a undying love for "geek" related things? Why should we be ashamed to admit liking a MMORPG, or being knowledgeable of one, yet can openly profess our love for whatever comic, cartoon, sci-fi, or slightly retarded action franchise that may be more openly accepted on the site without haing the fear of being flamed?

Another thing, which I've mentioned before... Why do people automatically assume that playing games = wasting time? How is it wasting anymore time than watching tv, or films? It's all entertainment, except games are interactive. And it's certainly much cheaper than constantly blowing all of your cash at the bar and then having all of that cash end up in the toilet the next morning.

Also, their's nothing different in playing a MMORPG, and playing Halo 2 and Madden online. So you gamers out there sticking your nose up to us "nerds", you're not any better.
Well crap...

"but many don't give a shit about being labeled, and remain in the closet"

I should have caught that. I was writing that during Letterman, and he had that guy from MADTV doing a John Madden impression and I was a bit distracted.

I can't believe Dave let that bit go on for that long.

I love how nerds single out others nerds for their vice and belittle them. It is awesome. "Do unto others as others have done unto me unfairly." Good motto. I was a beta tester of WOW. Its been a while but the episode was fun. Shermdawg-I totally got the sarcasm. Don't worry, not everyone on AICN is a fucking elitist prick.

...and thats the real sword of truth, kids. The people on the website that spent 100 posts doing "Flames on Optimus equals" jokes, and nearly hung themselves in their basement over the lack of a unibrow on the Thing, is giving Shermdawg a hard time for quibbling over inaccuracies with respect to source material the he's familiar with. You children need to catch a whiff of sober self-reflection juice or I'm gonna go over there and spray you with my organic web-shooters. Yeah, thats right I went there. Bitches. :-)
