Another lousy Will Smith Movie! In New York! You Know, I wonder if John Titor predicted this before he went back to the year 2036. This is the beginning of the American Civil War! The constant barrage of fraking lousy movies is the catalyst! Bring out your dead! Belgium man, Belgium.

That way I can get an original prop version of that middle sign "Stay Home. Stay Safe. It's the LAW." Seeing that makes me want to get stoned (a rarity in the last decade) and listen to Jello Biafra albums. The experience just can't be complete without mounting that sign on my wall next to my lava lamp.

Rob Zombie will be showing The Last Man On Earth some time on his Underground show on TNT in October. I've got a nice letterboxed copy on DVD with the most footage I've seen. But I always feel compelled to watch (and copy) a programming rarity like this to see if some new footage shows up. Rob Zombie should make this new version. I might get excited.

...anyway, there's no way they can re-create the intensity of Chuck Heston firing a shotgun at robed home invaders. Basically, Chuck's character is desperate to protect all those cases of Cutty Sark he's got stashed. Fuck the cure when you can just stay home, get drunk and stroke your piece(s).

I will boycott this sheet and why is this site giving this movie so much coverage. We should NOT encourage the creation of steaming piles of shit!

watching I AM LEGEND again in 2009. They should call this A BOY AND HIS DOG 2...or would that be racist? Anyway we should get a good half hour of TURNER & HOOCH jokes before the action starts as Will drives around NY with his mans best friend. Calling this version "I AM LEGEND" is a waste of a good title if this film is more of a cross of the titles I listed mixed in with a little BULLET & OMEGA MAN blended with 28 DAYS LATER... But the other day I saw some French guy's short film on TCM, and I discovered that 12 Monkeys is stolen. I never even bothered to check if it was stolen, because it's Gilliam. Am I going to discover someday that Munchausen is based on some Czech guy's short film? I don't think I could take that. Oh yeah, this movie still looks like it will blow.

I think it's acknowledged that 12 Monkeys is influenced by the French short La Jetee (never saw it myself). In fact, if I'm not mistaken La Jetee is mentioned in the 12 Monkeys credits. Anyway, I agree with the above poster who commented that Last Man on Earth is a pretty faithful adaptation of I Am Legend. I was able to buy Last Man on Earth on one of those no frills dvds they sell at Kmart for 2 bucks and it was well worth the expenditure. I expect this new version of I Am Legend to appear in the same low budget bin in about a year.
La Jetee is really cool, try and find it

But to say that 12 Monkeys is a faithful adaptation is stretching it because the thing is really short. Thats like not respecting the Godfather because its based on a book, or that "Just One of the Guys" sucks because its inspired by 12th night. Everything is stolen and the sooner people get over that the sooner you'll be happy.

...is DANIEL SMITH. Yes, son of Anna Nicole Smith is in negotiations to portray one of the living dead. Proceeds of his appearance will go to Miss Smith's wedding to several unpaid caterers that jettied in caviar and champagne to the yacht she was married on to ambulance-chaser, Howard K. Stern(No relation to the FM shock-jock.) When asked about her son's part in the film, the saucy Miss Smith commented, "Uh, what?" Rumor has it that zombie, Bruce Paltrow will also make a cameo. Film at 11.

I guess "stolen" is too strong. But I was just shocked to be watching this little French short [in collage, and not even in film] about time travel, and the protagonist is sent back as part of an experiment to try to prevent an apocalyptic war, and he meets a woman he's been dreaming about since he was a boy, and he also has a memory from boyhood of seeing a man get shot, and it turns out at the end that the man who gets shot is him. But if the short is in the credits, then that's OK.
You know, if they were going for a "fresh" new take...

...on this material, why did they recycle the already aging (and none-too-gracefully) interbreeding of the biohazard outbreak/zombie genres? I mean, isn't this ground pretty thoroughly covered by 28 Days Later, Resident Evil and the Dawn of the Dead remake (which I'd love to see a sequel to, just because I know now I can trust Snyder to handle it with the right balance of action, gore, scares and tongue-protruding-from-decompo sed-cheek humor). For some reason, when I thiknk of what this movie is becoming and I look back on iRobot, I am always reminded of that episode of Cheers where Frasier reads A Tale of Two Cities to the bar. Maybe this will be more palatable after a day of drinking Norm style?

The "Popcorn" defense for crap movies is an extremely tired cliche. Will Smith's non-threatening brand of blackness is pimped to corporate movie factories then packaged as charismatic poser cool. There is nothing genuine or illunminating about his rote schtick.

Putting 3-D video cameras on the next space probes will be cool, not as cool as a Moon base : ( I am Legend 2007... I am Legend DVD 2008... I an Legend Network TV 2009... Dated in 2. Come'on cinegeeks. Stay home. Refuse to watch this film and let the pre-release bad buzz tank this proportionately to the amount of wind that was taken out of the sails of *Superman Lifts*. Punish this idiotic studio (Warner Bros.) for wrecking their franchises by casting bad actors and unnecessairly tweaking the mythos. This film sucks, literally. We all know it. Spread the word like a virus. Come on out, WB Studio executives, we're waiting for you!

Look up the classic *Doctor Who* episode "Day of the Daleks" from the 70s. In it, a time traveler goes back to prevent a war and actually becomes the cause of it. The plot involved timeloop consequences of going back in time to change events. A scenario that happened in *12 Monkeys* but the writers were too stupid to realize that Cole did alter events and got stuck in a timeloop. And thus, despite Bruce Willis being in it, "Day of the Daleks" > *12 Monkeys*.
