The Terry Hatchet news is old, but the rest is good.

Neil is still a great writer, I sure hope that these projects turn out as good as the comic...so far the tv and movies based upon his writings have been so so. One of my favorite items is a hardback collection of Sandman stories that Neil not only autographed but drew a picture of Dream on the inside cover page. Awesome. ~ÐL
What's the big deal about Teri Hatcher?

I'm no fan of hers, nor do I care for Desperate Housewives at all. But all she's doing is a voice for a character in an animated film. As long as she does the character's voice well, who gives a frack, Neil?
Just like Watchmen, it's time to give up on Good Omens

It's unfilmable, and frankly, the story has become dated. Unless it was rewritten for the screen, it'd be an unmitigated disaster.
Interested that theyre making Terry Pratchetts movie?

Neils co-author on Good Omens. Theye making a mini series of Terry Pratchetts Hogfather with an all-star British cast. I did email every AICN reviewer about a month ago, but it obviously wasnt cool enough news for this site.

I can't believe how haggard Teri Hatcher turned in 10 years. Oh. Neil Gaiman stuff. Woo. Etc.

Personally, I'd like to see a movie based on the first volume of Sandman (Preludes and Nocturnes) before they make a 'Death' movie. I just really liked how she was introduced in that one. Plus, it could be a franchise for WB if it worked. A bunch of Sandman movies, a few Death movies, maybe even a Lucifer movie or two. Or even Sandman Mystery Theatre? So many good Vertigo properties, and they gave us a Keanu Reeves vanity project.

...But she apperently went on to be the Lilim in Stardust. She sure loves Neil though! Don't we all? So AICN, who's perfect for everyone's favorite cute-as-a-button goth reaper? Fairuza Balk was tossed around years ago but now?

Doesn't really have anything to do with Gaiman's Sandman book. Phillip Seymour Hoffman would be great as Wesley Dodds if it made it to the screen though. Maggie Gyllenhal as Dian Belmont would be nice as well.
I'd rather see Sandman as an HBO-series

But it might be cool to see a Death movie if it helps pave the way for something like that.

looks a lot like the girl from Mirror Mask. PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD don't make Death a marketing tool for Hot Topic. I've met Neil a few times and know his son quite well, I've nothing but faith in Neil...it's the exec's looking for that almighty dollar that scare me.

...Slipknot fan. She'll look like Chris Bachalo drew her in the series. The Mirrormask girl is Stephanie Leonidas and her next project is a Dracula TV movie as Mina. I'm sold though on Natalia. She's perfect.

And they should get James Marsters for the Constantine role. Or just have Dave KcKean animate it.

I've read (what was alledged to be) the screenplay, and I think we're all going to be much happier if it never gets made. The GOOD OMENS movie currently on offer would do nothing but infuriate old fans and confuse the hell out of new ones.

I thought it wasn't very engaging, and not terribly sublte. Definitely not one of Gaiman's stronger works.

You just cannot compress the Sandman mythos. It would totally ruin it. It'll never happen anyway. The Death story is self-contained, so it's more likely. Though I don't see a British actress playing her. Or at least the character strikes me as being very American, which is how she's written. Morphy might be British, though. On another note, just saw an ad for the Dresden Files, and immediately noted how much of a Hellblazer ripoff it seemed. Too bad we'll never get an honest to goodness British, Garth Ennis-influenced John Constantine, thanks to Keanu and the PTB. In my version of Lucien's DVD collection, there's an entire network producing amazing adaptations of Vertigo properties. Available for rent through Dreamflix (but watch out for those late fees. They're a nightmare!)

Very sad that Noel Fielding had to drop out. I haven't heard of the guy who took over his part (A radio show host in the UK), but I'm not sure if I'll like him. But, there are things they've changed and added in this film, like Humphrey, a guy Victoria likes better, the shifty shopkeeper Freddie the Fence and (Spoiler alert) how Septmus is offed...it was a snake in the book, though he's being treated like a voodoo doll from what I've heard(End spoiler) which I don't mind as long as they keep most of the original stuff intact. I mean, there has been one instance where they took a book and screwed it up and that was "The Time Machine" with Aussie hottie Guy Pearce. Why oh why did they forget the story was in retrospect? That ending SUCKED and goes up there with the "Bedazzled" remake as the most shyte ending to a film. "Coraline", however, I don't mind Teri Hatcher but I'm very happy that Misses Focible and Spink are being played by French and Saunders. :D I enjoyed the book and I can't wait to see that one.
