This reminds me of that godawful Lost in Space flick New Line shat out about a decade ago. Take a kitschy TV show that was kind of cool and futuristic back when it aired and give it a modern big-budget makeover. The problem is that it was no longer cool or futuristic by the time it came out. Sure, 20 years ago a talking car with all sorts of nifty gadgets was an original idea. Since that time it's all been done to death in Bond films and the like, and videogames have more advanced AI than KITT ever did. Knight Rider has nothing more going for it than nostalgic camp value, and that doesn't equate to major box office. They could get Tom Hanks to star, Spielberg to direct and it would still fuckin' bomb.

Go back and take a good look at some of the crap the Weinsteins have tried to pass off as poster art over the years. Pay close attention to any movie starring Jet Li or Jackie Chan. In my humble, little opinion, the ideal person to play Michael Knight would be John Cusack. He can do the combat scenes and he would also be very good at the bon homme scenes between Michael and K.I.T.T. On a third note; just imagine how awesome he would be hamming it up as evil "twin" Garth Knight!!! This however begs the question: will we get flames on Goliath?!

When it comes to Knight Rider the movie I feel the only true way to do it would be to cast it in the style of the X-Files movie. However, if your a fan of Knight Rider you will remember Devon was killed off in the made for tv movie Knight Rider 2000. So, what I sugest is keep Hasselhoff around however, have him take over where Devon left off, thus allowing him to choice a new Knight Rider following the same story line that was used when he himself was made a Knight Rider.
