This is the first true Gilliam film since Fear & Loathing, anyone who doesn't appreciate it isn't a true fan. It's definitely the darkest film he's made, and a take on a children's tale at that. I doubt it will see wide release in the US, but the Russian DVD rip is already rampant on torrent.

I watched the first 30 minutes and I'm debating whether to go to sleep or to watch the whole thing. It's pretty fucking fantastic so far. Jeff Bridges in this is like a violent heroin abusing version of "the Dude". Jodelle Ferland is too damn good to be 12 but she is.

But it was also very sad and disturbing. It's Terry Gilliam's darkest film, and definitely not for everyone.
