Never felt the need to have these things fleshed out, and wish the color was more stark and contrasted, but it looks cool. Worth looking into.

What made the film so great was that we didn't get to see these horrific crimes. Viewers could let their imagination lead them to their own terrifting conclusions. I feel it mad the villain a lot more mysterious as well.

What the Fuck??? I just saw this on Lying in the Gutters on ComicBookResources.com Seriously, I have all of the first three Essentials of the series and I hadn't gotten around to picking up the fourth. Now it looks like I won't be picking it up at all...at least until Marvel uncensors it...http://groovyageofhorror. blogspot.com/

now if only they would do a follow up comic. I think a follow up movie would either be awesome or suck ass,no middle ground. No Pitt ,no Freeman,no Se7en

_Se7en_ created this genre and made it mainstream? I must have dreamed Oscar winner _Silence of the Lambs_ years earlier :)

Is it just me? I can't find the AICN comics section on the home page, even though I just posted there this morning. It seems to have disappeared. Anyone can help me find it?

No wrath victim?

Huh? Also, I like the whole genre of stories and films where we know the ending - that's exactly the point, the challenge of keeping you interested and the sense of dread as fate plays out, but this one seems like an anal exercise to put everything into little boxes like too many Star Wars comics where they need to check off planet name A with character name B and reduce everything down until there's no depth or room to breathe anymore. What's the point of the visual exposition if you go back and point everything out with clichéd detail? Anyway Lawrence of Arabia never suffered because when he died at the start in such a small sobering way you WANTED to find out what sort of life he led. Seven isn't like that. There's a reason why he's JOHN DOE, for fuck's sake. Metaphor or not, this is fucking with it. I like the challenge as an idea, but it actually doesn't require execution. The author not being able to keep a pun out of every answer makes me nervous too.
Wouldn't "Se7en" make it "Sesevenen"?

Sound Swedish to me. I know, it's how the cognoscenti spell it. And the British. Still, kinda dorky.

It's funny how a lot of people seem to be confused by the end of Seven... even years after the movie came out. Like L.Duderino said before... John Doe himself is the envy victim. He gets punished by Pitt's character Mills. Mills on the other hand is the wrath victim. Since we don't know where the movie takes place (it never gets mentioned), we also don't know if Mills might end up on the frying chair. And even if not... his life is f*** up and over. His wife is just the means to punish Mills, just like the guy screwing the hooker is just the means of punishing her for lust and that guys life is totally f**** up too now. Don't forget that in the scene where they go through John Doe's apartment and he call the cops in there, he says he admires them and will change his plan from now on. We will never know, but John's original victims for wrath and maybe even envy probably were totally different persons (Maybe the comics will go there)

... this particular subject matter disturbs me greatly. You see, at 288 lbs. I'm a pretty big guy myself. Not quite as bad as "Gluttony", but still... For some reason, when it comes to overeating, obesity, etc., I always... Just the other night, I was having dinner with my father in a restaurant, and he asked to see the dessert menu. The waiter brought over a tray full of dessert samples. And it occured to me, "If someone were to say "I'll take one of each of those", the waiter would be forced to comply, even if the customer were grossly overweight." And I felt a chill run through my body at the very thought. I think it is because, somewhere deep down, I know that if I ever lost control, that if I ever JUST... STOPPED... CARING... That could very well be me.
