I was dying to know when the new My Little Pony and Bratz games were due out. Whatever would I do without this weekly column... Stick to games your readers would actually give a shit about.

I love the column, as I'm a big gamer and the TB's have a broader perspective than some videogame site. However, two issues with this week. --First, why don't you leave your damn political opinion out of the article. I don't care if its anti-right OR anti-left , just stick to hyping the games up. --Second, did you even PLAY Company of Heroes?? The graphics are outstanding, the gameplay is amazing... and it adds so many positive things to the RTS genre. For example, your troops use cover automatically, and advance like actual troops would, instead of just going in a straight line to where you click. But no, you just shrug it off as a WWII generic. I have a feeling you don't actually play the games, and instead you just formulate opinions from screenshots and other people's descriptions.

How's about King's Quest is completely awesome? How's about parts 5 and 6 STILL hold up as rad games? How's about Police Quest 4 being probably the best PC game ever with a completely messed up ending to boot?......................... . Now that there's a version that works well with Windows XP, how's about my CD-Rom not working at all? Man...
I think the King's Quest series spanned from 1984-1998

Yet here, it is described as, "this is your typical RTS PC game set in the overly-traveled gaming waters of WW2." Let me guess: you made an assumption instead of actually playing the game, reading reviews, or doing any due dilligence whatsoever. Awesome.

I agree w/ richier 123 - do some research. You slag the 360 version of Lego SWII for being just like the other versions, only $10 more, but there's a little problem - IT'S NOT. If you're going to right for a site as heavily viewed as this one, try not to make yourself look like a dolt. There are much easier ways to do that.

Old news by now, but since he didn't have a price point and release date listed for the Wii, here you are: Nov. 19th, includes Wii Sports, one Wiimote and one nunchuk, $249.99. Interestingly, that's just two days after Sony's sure-to-be-disappointing PS3 launch. Secondly: Stairway to Heaven isn't Clapton, it's Led Zeppelin. You might be thinking of Tears in Heaven.

Fantastic Game. You'll need a 3.0+ ghz system and a 256 meg graphics card to enjoy it. It does for WW2 what Battle for Middle Earth 2 did for Lord of the Rings.

He gets all his info online, and just like this column its all old news by the time it gets posted. Not to mention he's probably the only idiot in south eastern wisconsin who's gonna pass on the Wii and get a Ps3 just for the Blue-ray and the fact the Wii controler seems too hard for him to understand. Watch and learn boys and girls. In the not too distant future being a video game reviewer/reporter is going to be one of those jobs that has some serious lay-offs. Video Games are one of the rare mediums where the "normal people" know more than the reporters do. The only people bitching about the downsize of E3 are all the people who get paid to be there. BTW the first Lego SW is an awesome game. Not to forget it was $30 when it came out. Good Bless Lucas for sucking more money out of the OT fanboys for raising the price of the sequel. He double dipped those fuckers last week. LOL

It really is a fantastic game. I picked it up the other day, and thus far, it's been worth every penny. It's much better than Battle for Middle Earth 2 in my humble opinion.

For its efficiency. I come here to talk about film but it saves me registering for IGN boards etc to talk to similar people about games. This column should exist just for the talkbacks. Every week there should be a short summary of news then a talkback. That should be all. I agree with his comments on the wii and against the PS3 but I would maybe srgue for a bit more objectivity from a games journalist. I mean those comments above were verging on bias and a far cry from proffessional impartiality required to cover all formats well. Also his coments on initial PS3 market being split between MGS fans and e-bayers are surely a little off: MGS wont be out for at least a year and anyone wanting a PS3 now because of it is an idiot. Now that I think of it, what are the launch games justifying early adoption of a PS3?

...Monki's getting his banana yanked by ya'll...but in a bad way...and if history can be used to educate, I can assure you that it'll be more than a year after the PS3 launch before any MGS game is out for the system...anyway, I don't think I'll be purchasing either system outta the gate...I'll just wait until FFXIII or Heavy Rain is out for PS3, and with the Wii...well, it's all about the software, right? I'll wait and see how well developers adopt the "detachable penis" interface...see if it's a gimmick or a revolution...

Isn't it still more units coming to the US than the 360 launch?
Anyway, Can't wait to check out Rule of Rose! I'm a big MGS fan, but me and others will be waiting till closer into 2007 to get a PS3 since the game won't be out until later that time and the shortages should be taken care of around then, maybe a price drop... I'll check out Wii at the store or a friends, I'm still nto convinced into buying it yet, the only launch games that are appealing to me are... well... is Zelda, and I'm not a hardcore fan of the franchise so skipping it will nto affect me... Mario Galaxy on the other hand...
Kings Quest 1984-1987?
by Gorrister

This timeline is incorrect. Kings Quest went on well into the 1990's (Absense Makes the Heart Go Yonder 1990, Heir Today, Gone Tomorrow 1992, Princeless Bride 1994). And I agree that it's a good thing they excluded the final game (Mask of Eternity, 1998) in the series.

I loved all of the old Sierra games, but Quest For Glory was by far my favorite. The games had a great sense of humor and were just a ton of fun. they need to re-release those for XP.

For years all I've had from the glory days of Space Quest was a battered copy of Space Quest 6 (not my favorite of the series...but better than Space Quest 4). I'm really looking forward to playing 1, 3 and 5 again (my personal favorites). Now I'd like to see the old Laura Bow mysteries re-released. (and "The Adventures of Willy Beamish). ;)

Poor little defenseless grizzly bears. Can't wait for the Monki Mod of Company of Heroes, in which blue-helmeted UN peacekeepers put down their guns and race their hybrid compacts to deliver MREs to refugees.

Seeing that the old Sierra games are being re-released is the best news this website has given me all month. Does anyone know if it's going to be both the DOS and VGA versions of Police Quest I, Kings Quest I, and Space Quest I or only the DOS. I'll be bummed if I can't get those VGA versions too. Oh and does anyone remember Phreddy Pharkas Phronteir Pharmacist? Damn I loved that one.

Yeah, I remember that game. It was funny, but I never finished it. I thought the puzzles were really insane. But, of course, I was much younger back then (I'm amazed I can still remember bits of the theme song).

I remember playing the old sierra quest games very fondly. Back then if you got stuck, there was no internet, no way you could track down a walkthough, you had to figure out all the puzzles by yourself (unless you went out and got a hint book). The early sierra games taught me how to type, and thanks to Police Quest and Leisure Suit Larry, I learned how to play poker and blackjack at the ripe age of 8. Now, hopefully LucasArts will follow suit and re-release Day of the Tentacle.

Hey all, as the creative manager this definately counts as a shill/plant but I really want to recommend the Danny Phantom Urban Jungle games for GBA and DS. They are based on classic Japanese side-scrolling shooters like Gradius and Ikaruga. Those who like "old school" games for their handheld systems should give it a try and don't be off-set by the Nick license. Also, please give Lego Star Wars II, Harvest Moon DS and Company of Heroes a try. They're all awesome games. (And Day of the Tentacle rocks!)

It was Infocom games, not Sierra, that really honed my typing skills in the 80's. Although Sierra was a welcome addition to my game library, those games also spent doom for my beloved Infocoms adventures. Thankfully, I still have a CD collection that contains MOST of the Infocom games (I still want my Hitchhikers Guide!!!!)

A few of the review look like they were made after looking at the box art. How can you review mystery dungeon without mentioning that the game changes the order of the rooms on each entry to the dungeon to make no two games alike? It's the games MAJOR feature!!
