because I don't. He has been in only 2 good moives, but not because he was in them. The Rundown, and Doom. The Rundown wasn't that good but I actually like it. Thought it wasa pretty funny with Sean William Scott and Christopher Walken doing some funny stuff. Doom was fun to watch. Knew going in it wasn't going to be a "good" movie but it was fun to watch. He needs to find an acting coach or something.

Something about the man when he does interviews and such. Not just the charisma that he has but the fact that he seems to have a deep love for whatever he does. The part about celebrities and role-models makes me wish more celebrities had that attitude.

Yeah, actually I do think he's a pretty good actor. I thought he was terrific in The Rundown. I also thought Walking Tall had potential, if they made it about a half-hour longer and called it something else. Calling it Walking Tall and saying it was based on a true story really made it seem worse than it was. Because it wasn't that story at all. If they had just called it something else and gave the characters around him more depth, it might have had potential. But I think he's generally good in anything he's in. I just hope he continues to strive for better material.

...I saw flashes of potential in The Rundown, but he is absolutely the best part of Be Cool. His performance in that is funny and nuanced. He got into that character (gay cowboy, in case anyone didn't see it) and inhabited probably the only watchable scenes in that film. He also demonstrated a real flair for the comedic in his Saturday Night Live hosting stint. I don't think he's a great actor, but he could be a suprisingly good one who's typically fun to watch. It's early in his career yet.

does not make you a good actor, or even action star. theres just something about the guy thats off. maybe its the vanderbeek sized always shiney head. maybe its that he cant seem to find or deserve a decent vehicle for his so called talents. its not even so much one thing, its just the guy doesnt have "it". arnold had it. sly had it sometimes. segal and even van damme had it. maybe "it" is a hint of danger. and i think every piece of shit the rock's been in, he just comes off like a teddy bear. he doesnt do anger or the 'im gonna kill you' death stare well. kill someone in real life rock, then you'll have my respect. maybe one of those kids.

Although he isn't terrible in Be Cool, Childe. He's still at his best when stripped down and kicking the shit out of anything that gets in his way. Of and leesheri: check out a little movie called They Live to see the best performance by an ex-wrestler. The Rock's acting is better than Hulk Hogan's though. Brother!

And maybe I'm just being cynical, but the whole "coach of a rag tag inter-racial football team overcoming adversity that is based on a true story" is getting incredibly tired. They're all virtually the same, and I really can't see why there is such a demand for them. I suppose the same argument can be made for other types of films, but all of these are so specific and seem almost identical. I guess I'm biased, but does anyone else agree with me, and is sick of these?

Oh come on! Above The Law, Hard To Kill, Marked For Death, Under Seige, early Segal!? Bloodsport, Kick Boxer, Hard Target Van Damme!? Double Impact two for the price of one Van Damme!? Rocky Sly!? Terminator Arnold!? ..... You're right, I should say I was just joking... Too bad I was not. - I do however agree with crayotic in that there hasn't been a movie to utelize his cocky wrestling persona. He wouldn't even need to be the bad guy, but that might help.

Loved the Rock in WWF. Very charismatic and he seems very down to earth and real. I am really looking forward to seeing him as the next big action star. Arnold made the transition from weighlifting freak to Terminator/Barbarian. D. Johnson can do it too. Cool guy.
