Still not liking the "Oh, shit!" look on his face, yet I have to say that the design has begun to grow on me. It borders on 'faithful enough' as with Prime. Given the mess of a script and the Decepticon designs, there are bigger fish to fry than the designs for Bumblebee and Prime (including the flames on him) IMO. Would like to see it in motion, but I won't give this film the opportunity until it hits cable. Way, way too much going against it at this late stage in the game.

There's a lot of us who don't like the direction this movie is being handled. Let's vote on it in the only way that matters... with our wallets. Get a bootleg copy and watch it first. If you know anyone interested in seeing the movie... give them a copy of the bootleg. Let's NOT spend any more of our money on movies that are NOT what we want to see. We shouldn't pay to see a TINO movie. And if I'm wrong, and it ends up being cool (and I'd like to believe that), *then* go spend money on it - see it in the theater and buy the DVD. Do not obey Don Murphy, Michael Bay, Dreamworks, or anyone else in Hollywood... we, as individuals, control the money, and that is the means by which we control them. The only way they're going to stop fucking up things we enjoy is when we stop PAYING them to do it!

And I can honestly say I like it for the most part. The haters (of which I was one before I read this script) can suck donkey dick. It's going to be an impressive and faithful (to the parts that matter), Transformers movie and I'm looking forward to it now. True, I'd change a couple of things but I think that with *all* movies. 90% of any complaint I have is with some of the cheese (all the stuff with the marines) and what megatron looks like/transforms into, although in the context of the script it does make sense.

please explain to me why I am pathetic for not being happy about a Michael Bay Giant Robot Film? especially seeing as almost all the information we have received so far- see the Quint interview with Shia Lebeouf- points to their understanding of this being a "human" story with Giant Robots only interacting/ fighting for about 20%.

Seeing as you are late to this, and are either new or a plant, please also try to do your explanation without going on about "blocky designs" and the rest of it as the designs are the least of my dislikes.

I expect the silence to be deafening.

I'm not new to this, I've been watching from the sidelines. I usually don't post in the talkbacks but this one has gotten my blood boiling. Let’s start off with the fact that this is a movie based on a cartoon based on a TOY COMMERCIAL. It toys!!! People are acting like this is a movie made about (insert your deity of choice) where instead of preaching piece he picks up guns and shoots sinners between the eyes. It’s a brand of toys that had a great marketing strategy of making what amounted to a half hour commercial to sell them to young boys. Now onto the young boys part. Most of the whiners here don’t fall into that category at all, yet you go on and on about every detail in this movie and don’t realize how pathetic you're all sounding. Next up, the designs…from your bitching I have learned that there were changes made to your almighty toys years ago. They made them look different. (Must have been lagging toy sales) and no one complained about that. You all refer to Generation 1 Optimus Prime vs. Generation 2 Prime. Why can’t this be Generation 3? Didn’t you ever think that the toy company wanted design changes so they could sell more TOYS when the movie comes out? Now onto who is who. Most people know the Transformers but have no clue as to who is who or turns into whatever. They know Prime is a truck. That’s all. You “adults” are going on and on about this character being this instead of that need to turn off the computer and TV and go outside for a bit. No one else really cares. Next MEGATRON. Yup he looks different, see above about changing designs, and if you haven’t read the script here’s a spoiler for you…HE HASN’T TRANSFORMED YET!!!! He looks the way he does because he hasn’t changed. I had to read this script after hearing all the bitching and whining and am even more excited to see it. Since the word is that there will be 3 Transformers movies you can almost expect that Megatron will have a new form in the next movie (if he’s in it). I brought up X-Men and Spiderman because of the HUGE BACKLASH those movies had on the internet before they were released and wanted to point out that it just didn’t matter now DID IT! Last for now onto the PLANT thing. Nope sorry I have nothing to do with this or any movie. You worthless idiots always yell plant whenever someone has a different opinion than you. OK…That’s about enough for now…some people have to go to work.

The Sam and Bumblebee thing reminded me alot of the relatioship between Spike and Hotrod in the animated movie. This is just more of a first meeting than them already fishing together. Basically I'd cut that whole section with the marines talking "a-typical american bullshit" in the aircraft at the beginning, and how god-awful Megatron will look and it'd be golden. Remember the cartoon/animated movie was just as cheesy if not more so. On a second thought, I'd cut out Maggie and Glen entirely and have more robot battles. They seem completely needless to the whole thing.

as I said before- Try to argue this with me without wittering on about toy commercials. They do not apply to my opinion of the film

I don't particularly give a fuck about the autobot designs I even quite like the optimus design, and I don't have a hang up on G1. I object to the Megatron and Starscream designs, as I think they are messy, busy and ugly- without being villainous looking. There are other posters that are far more qualified than I to argue this. Leaving aside the flames on optimus thing/ original optimus thing- which I do because I find it amusing to do so, all my problems with this film are that I think it is going to be a crap film. I base this on the script, the talent involved in making it (shia lepoof/ Michael Bay and Don Murphy especially) are mediocre.

I have read the script and think it is a hackneyed pile of garbage. It hits almost all of my "yuck" reactions, and the fact that megatron has not transformed yet really is only one of the issues with it. He is only at the climax- Your major villain pitches up at the end! Anyway, you can talk about sequels as much as you like, but I seem to remember him getting destroyed, just after Bumblebee's vomit inducing GOOO SAAAAAM GOOO line.

I have posted before about most of the world not giving a monkeys about Transformers, and I have repeatedly posted about not understanding the deliberate attempt to limit their market by constricting it to 7 year olds, when there are countless examples of "family movies" with enough in them to keep the adults interested that coined it in (Shrek 2)

When you couple in the arrogant, unprofessional and inexplicable behaviour of murphy this all adds up to me wanting to not see this. I could be wrong but at the moment...

sorry about the plant business that was childish. I am also aware that bitching about it will probably not make any difference. It took me a while to respond as I am also at work, but will keep half an eye out for your reply.

It's only a movie-based on a cartoon-based on a toy. Does it really matter that much that one character has flames on it? Will that affect the whole story? Now, if there were flames on Kong, than I would have been pissed at Peter Jackson. If Superman returned with flames on his ribcage, than I would have been a little upset. But it's just a giant robot that turns into a semi. Who cares. Maybe it will even actually look cooler in the movie. Besides, think about this. I have little faith in Michael Bay as well, but, it is reassuring that he is paying attention to little details like flames to define the abdomen. Shows promise. Peace out wi-otches!

And it's nothing personal, just business. Like when the giant douche Jimmie Dimmick rants and raves over us ranting and raving, well he must PLANT his cock back in his asscrack and stare in the mirror for hours to man up the kind of estrogen needed to be such a little bitch. It's simple math really:

20 years of waiting for this "toy commercial", one that hasn't been done in live action, meaning it SHOULD be G1 being the first, and SHOULD be done right + a douchebag of a director and fucking terrible design = A steaming pile of shit that we have the right to bemoan because of the timeframe of the first part of this equation.

OR Button Mushroom penis + Male Vagina = Jimmie Dimmick....

Characterization that stayed true to the original. and D. designs that would allow TOYS TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO TRANSFORM! You can not tell me that they can even MAKE a toy with these designs that will actually TRANSFORM.

As to your question: No, I don't watch Bill Maher. Tried once. Found him dreadfully smug and self-indulgent. Also just not very funny. I enjoy irreverence but I prefer it with a dash of relevance and some creativity. I would think you'd be embarrassed to repeat a joke that could be overheard being mistold (and funny only for the mistelling) at any number of NASCAR events or coming out of the car ahead of you in the drive-thru at Arby's. I thought you might be smarter, if not classier, than that. But I've given you way too much credit in the past. 9-11...that's some funny shit, right there. Thank god all those people conveniently died at the WTC and in any number of suicide bombings since so you could have a punchline for your tribute to tragedy.

Like it or not, fanboys (and I don't like Megatron), this is at least our FIRST shot at a live-action TF movie. The script could be a LOT worse and no matter what you say about Bay, the action will look spectacular. It ain't 86 any more. Wow, that just goes to show that there will be people defending ANYTHING. No matter how shitty and disrespectful a ful is turning out, there will seem to be people coming out of the woodwork to defend it......was it like this for Godzilla 98? Batman & Robin? The "CHILL OUT! Its a movie based off a TOY!" argument is retarded and a cop-out. Just because Transformers has a long standing toyline frees up Bay to make a shitty movie?? So Uwe Boll is should also be relieved of criticism because his movies are based off Playstation games? Um, no....there is never any excuse for shit, unless it is coming o0ut of an anus. Transformers had a toyline, yes, but that is part of an antire franchise that comprises TV shows, movies, comics, and more.....similar to other franchises like Spiderman. Almost all comic hero movies are made in part to sell toys.....from Batman Begins to Spiderman 3. But just because each of these franchises have Happy Meals and other merchandise does not excuse the kind of disregard for quality and source material we are seeing here. The Spiderman movies are not EXACTLY like either the comics or the cartoons, but they are close and closely reference the source material. One look at Megatron 2007 shows you what Bay thinks of our TF source material....and its BULLSHIT.

That script hold almost nothing in common with any transformer line, plot, or characteristic it read like Herbie, meets christine, meets ID4.

Has anyone seen the draft of the script that's been leaked onto the 'net? I'm not a Transformers fan (not a hater either), so I could care less if Optimus Prime transforms into a giant dildo, but I hope that they did a MAJOR rewrite on this. I was so bored to tears. The Transformers take a backseat in their own fucking movie to a bunch of generic, cliche human characters. Optimus Prime doesn't appear on screen until page 58 and Megatron isn't even MENTIONED until page 60. The script I saw was awful. I hope Bay ordered some major rewrites. People seeing a Transformers movie wants to see the Transformers beating the hell out of each other, not watching an awkward teen-ager clusmily pursue some chick we all know he'll end up with anyway.

Of course you stopped reading it when I said the Transformers were a toy commercial. You whiners are just like the 911 conspiracy idiots...you IGNORE and brush off the facts that completely trash your story with an “I don’t want to hear about that”. Well hear this, the Transformers isn’t “like any other form of media that had a merchandising tie-in”, it was a TOY FIRST. The show was invented to sell the toy line! This isn’t a Captain Jack Sparrow happy meal. This is a “Hey let’s make a movie based on a ride” thing. The toy came first, the rest was marketing. That doesn’t mean the movie will suck…see above Pirates reference…it means that when people bash you and your whining kind for an endless devotion to a LINE OF TOYS…you can’t just brush it off because you can’t face the truth.

Transformers 2007 needs its own "Sub Zero"
by GibsonUSA

Remember how Batman & Robin was released and was complete shit. Yet remember how Batman fans could take solace in the high quality animated Batman:Sub Zero released that same year that completely owned B&R? That's what Transformers 2007 needs....an animated direct-to-DVD companion that is true to the source material and completely owns the live action. Just imagine TRANSFORMERS: THE (animated) MOVIE 2, with all the G1 characters back, the original anime studio back (Toho?) and offering the difinitive conclusion to the G1 series, starting at the end of Rebirth and going all the way to the final Optimus Prime/Galvatron showdown. An animated DVD companion to the live action movie like this would almost make the big screen crap forgivable.

There is no reason to dismiss everything that is Transformers simply from its origins. It started out as a toyline. So WHAT? It since became so much more than that, to the degree where the franchise is not dependant on the toyline any longer in order to exist. It is now a series of TV shows, comics, books.....it has developed its own complex universe. Even if all the Transformers toys in the world disappeared tomorrow, there'd still be Transformers. It was born as something but became something else. I dont play with TF toys anymore....I'm in my 20s for cryin out loud....but I still love to rewatch the 1986 movie and the shows, because the universe is JUST SO GOOD. It's not just nostalgia....otherwise I would still be going nuts over Robotix and The Snorks....FUCK THE SNORKS! It's not nostalgia....its something GOOD that I stay a fan of because its JUST THAT GOOD. SO when you take thsis thing that is GOOD, that has held up for over TWO DECADES due to its GOODNESS, and start stripping SAID GOODNESS AWAY, people get PISSED. Then guys have to come and say why bother its just toys. Ahem, Transformers stopped just being about toys a LONG time ago....

My post to you was actually MUCH longer and addressed all of your points...but the fucking thing CUT OFF AFTER THE FIRST LINE!!!!! (Not a scream at you, just this new talkback where my post didn't appear for at least 2 hours after I sent it) I just checked this morning and it's all missing. The others went through. Yup...I bashed those 3 for being complete dicks, but you I actually THANKED for being civil! I don't have much time at all this morning so here's a VERY brief recap. I quoted you and credited you (that's where it cut off!) and then pointed out that no one has seen this film, the final draft of the script or any of the transformers in motion. Maybe everyone should wait until they've actually seen it and/or read reviews from someone they trust before forming an opinion. Geeze, I took the time to go point by point but it’s not there!!!!! Yet another reason to avoid talkbacks!

QUOTE:"why don't you put down you toy robot, turn off your computer and go fuck your mother!" END QUOTE

Now how can I fuck MY mother when I'm the 8th man in the 24 man train that's running up and down YOUR filthy Gollum of a mother? Unless of course I use the cloning tech found in Bay's stunning epic 'The Island' and make a duplicate of myself...

As for the leaked script, I just went through that review on it, and I swear to god if that's the filming script, then Bay, and ALL of his fans, truly deserve to be sent into the sun on a rocket driven by Ashley Simpson. What a pathetically stunning hunk of pure shit that leaked script is...

as I said to roland above, I object to spending an exhorbitant amount of money before I am allowed to have an opinion. I know that this is a circular argument, but as I outlined above when talking to Roland, I have seen enough so far to know that this will be crap. The wait and see line adopted by a lot people doesn't really wash (I despised that script, don't like Michael Bay, and hate Shia LEbeouf) so to spend money on something I know I will dislike seems to me to be foolish. I could be reconvinced, but it won't be the Trailer or Transformers moving (because- let's face it, they are going to be the same thing). I lost hope for this completely when that little turd was gobbing off about "Creative Control" and how he finds it really hard to "imagine shit"(act)- and unless his bravado masks an olivier-level performance (which I doubt) I will be reconvinced by either a positive review from Vern (he hates Bay), or if I can trick one of my stupid friends into seeing it first. At this moment in time, this looks like a turd. Anyways, back too work.

Yikes. Now I'm getting nervous because from that still it looks a little low budget. The Autobots looks almost two-dimensional, but i thought that it was going to be 3-d animation? and also, there doesn't seem to be a Perceptor on set, but according to the version of the script I read he's only in it for one scene, so that's okay. But i don't like the looks of these "flat" Transformers. Any info? Are these fake?

SHOULDN'T OPTIMUS BE A TOYOTA CAMRY?
by GibsonUSA
Sep 13th, 2006
05:02:26 PM
Think about it. According to the script the Autobots want to blend in and be unnoticed, and can scan whatever they want as their alternate mode. Also, they have access to the internet and other resources where they can "download" information on human culture. Why then, would Optimus and Co. choose to be a gigantic truck with flames, a Hummer, a hardtop Pontiac Solstice, and a 2009 Chevy Camaro that isnt even out for the public yet?????? Um, to be unnoticed, don't you think they'd pick more plain, common autos? Shouldn't Optimus be a Toyota Camry, Ratchet a Dodge Caravan, Jazz a Corolla, and Bumblebee a Chevy Suburban (in keeping with the 'Huge Bumblebee' they seem to want) or something? Plain Jane cars that will go unnoticed by the humans and the Decepticons....For Starscream to find a Autobot disguised as a 2009 Camaro on the streets, in 2007? Not so hard.....for Starscream to look for a single particular COROLLA on the streets?? YEAH RIGHT!

Check it out. RE: Cullen voicing Prime (paraphrasing) "We were caught off guard. That's post-production. We were focusing on shooting." Now, I admittedly know jack about filmmaking. But I've seen enough behind-the-scenes footage to know that animators create their work off the energy of the voiceactors. Please cure my ignorance -- by his statement does he mean that BOTH voicing and animating are all post-production? Even if so, isn't Cullen's voice iconic enough to have measurable impact on what is filmed during shooting? Meaning, that he would bring sufficient gravitas to perhaps increase the number of spoken lines? I dunno, these comments didn't sit well with me. Perhaps I'm just oversensitive about the wealth of crap news coming out of this development property.

I'm not saying that following blindly or the stalling that was placed on the investigation honours their memory. I don't know who Ann Coulter is but she sounds like a cunt from all accounts. I am however, wondering whether another round of "911 was caused by arab terrorists vs 911 was caused by George W Bush/ Zionists/ Neocons/ I don't know- the martian lovechild of dead elvis" where neither side will give an inch and the thread will degenerate into insults and cries of PWND, is really the best way to show some respect especially this close to the 5 year anniversary.

When I said sully their memories I was referring specifically to the pentagon flight which seemingly doesn't exist. This particular argument does the people that died on that flight a huge disservice. If you see my point.

I think you need to go back and read your post again. Quote: "how does an airplane, with all its parts, shells AND ENGINES AND WINGS get insinerated completely (as the official story ludicrously claims) and leave behind flesh and undamaged windows on the Pentagon facade? Well, it doesn't." -- Yes, it does. I know people who saw the plane over 95 and I know people who were in the Pentagon. There were parts of the plane all over the place including the inside of the building. And during explosions, body parts (flesh) and lighter materials end up in the strangest places. Kind of like the remains they keep finding from the WTC. Now, you're not really trying to be that contrarian simply for the sake of the "official story" are you? Come on, you're smarter than that. You've got to think beyond the conspiracy party line, too. It's quite the cul-de-sac of misinformed interpretation.
