People will ask: "Why didn't they use Clive Owen?" His soliloquies were the best part of "Inside Man". Tall, dark, handsome, dangerous. Just like me, come to thing of it...
Bond is a sex symbol, Craig is not.

First time I've actually ever seen use the words "homie" and "brother" used in a review like some ghetto Hulk Hogan. By the simple fact that this supposed British reviewer spouts out said American slang so casually genuinely discredits any crediblity he may have had. Forget calling him plant, I call him a poser! Also, the main reason people are backlashed against Daniel Craig is not really based on acting chops, it's the fact that the guy is fucking ugly! He doesn't look the part, and much about Bond is his suave, handsome, and sexy looks. Craig does not have any of those qualities, and you don't need to see anything more than a still from the film to judge whether he fits that criteria. James Bond is very much built on his suave sex appeal, and without that, they need to make this movie the best action flick of the last decade! -NJM

..other Bonds. I'm sure there would have been many safe-behind-their-comp-screens TalkBackers who don't know poop about film making, spouting off about how THEY know that Connery, Moore etc are SO wrong for the part. Even though they haven't seen the film yet. Rather like now...

Does that mean I need to get hazed, because I'd really rather not get paddled on the Ass. Oh, and on topic, I think Craig rules as Bond, a more Bad Ass rough Bond, for a more bad ass and rough movie. Seems to make sense.

could all the people talking about the 'literary' Bond give up? The books are paper thin character wise, and apart from being able to read one in an afternoon, they first got published because of Fleming's contacts, not merit. In fact, by the end of his writing the films were all influencing the books! Talking about the 'literary' Bond does not make you sound clever. It's like musical nerds who try and do a thesis on Abba. And re Craig being ugly, the women I work with don't seem to agree.

I suppose the producers would love an international smash-hit song to help push the movie, hence the choice of "hot" names over better-suited artists for the last few Bond flicks.. too bad. Will wait til I hear the new theme until passing judgement tho..

"I'm telling you Thom Yorke will MURDER a Bond theme, just listen to 'Harrowdown Hill' off his latest album".. Naopleon Solo, are you sure? I just downloaded that track and it's so not even-close-to-being Bond-like that I wonder if you meant something else? Or are you Thom Yorke in disguise? Or are you mad?

This movie looks good. I applaud the choice of Daniel Craig. It's bold. A new direction. Change can be a good thing, people. Just like I said with Superman, give this a chance before you start your trash talking. If it sucks, fire away. If it's good, you'll look awfully stupid if you were trash talking early. Don't prejudge! It's a bad habit to fall into. Next you'l be prejudging people based on looks alone... Oh wait, people do that already too... Just be a little open minded please. It would be a refreshing change...

i watch them all when they get released, but Bond is a dead duck, is he not? nothing will beat Connery's style or Moore's humour/entertainment value it seems, as no one tries. Timothy Dalton suffered at the hands of the worst, dullest Bond, being The Living Daylights, and thus the rather good Licence To Kill was routinely ignored. as for dear Pierce, well, Goldeneye was great, but then it all descended into a succession of lame plots, with Die Another Day being the epitome of how to waste an obscene amount of money, talent and either filmstock or digital media, however they filmed it. as for the themes, well, once upon a time it was relevant, popular artists doing them - Duran Duran were as perfect for 80's Bond as Wings were for the 70's. after Madonna we now get Audioslave? it's product placement out of hand. good luck to this lad Daniel, and the whole revisionist track taken. i still, however, believe that if they had hired a then relatively unknown Liam Neeson back in the late 80's and given Living Daylights a proper script with a real story, in this day and age there would be no debate about resurrecting Bond.

Man this movie looks to be pure kick assness. I can think of only one negative thing to write about and that is the recasting of Judi Dench as M. That just doesn't work for me. But Craig looks fantastic and so does the action. I loved the lines about Vesper having stripped James of his armor. And boy did I get the geek orgasm when he saw a tied up Vesper in the road and his car went flipping into the night! "The question is, will you heal?" Oh hell yes! As for the box office, I don't think the film will open as big as DIE ANOTHER DAY did but I think it will hold up well and gross over 100 million. It really needs to reach 130 million since that was the average gross of Brosnan's films. We'll see. Daniel Craig will own our asses as Bond. Its all so fucking hysterical!
Film looks good, but Craig just isn't Bond.

This looks like the Bond film I wanted to see Brosnan in, and the kind that Brosnan wanted to do before the producers dumped him. Pierce petitioned for a film of this style to be made, and the instant they get rid of him, they make that film. What a crock! I would see this, but Craig just looks like the anti-Bond to me. He doesn't appear to be suave, seductive, smooth, and is clearly not easy on the eyes. I know a trailer is not the medium to judge one's acting talent, but he doesn't appear to have any style either. He would do great in this kind of film if it wasn't James Bond. -NJM

Like the reviewer said everyone keeps harping on about what makes a good bond, somehow I don't think hair colour is really the key. If you have seen any films with Daniel Craig then you would realise that he can get the women without cheesy lines or corny good looks. The last few bond films got so repetitive it was painfull, infact it's been going that way since the 80's and i'd rather see them at least attempt to update the formula than just do The World is not Enough 2. Seriously, Brosnan Bond wasn't even tough, he just swung big punches that bad guys walked into and then pressed the latest gadget button on his watch or in his invisible car, I could do that and i'm shit. Craig actually seems to be a bond who has been trained to within an inch of his life and actually has the abilitly to put people in hospital without knocking them onto a conveyor belt which leads to some convieniantly place spikes. He also seems to be a spy unlike previous bods who investigate by acting cocky and blowing stuff up. Most girls I know didn't fancy Craig until they saw him in action then they just melted. You people seem to live in an alternative universe where every bond film before this was perfect.

The line is "The question is, will you yield... in time?" It's more or less verbatim from the book IIRC and it makes more sense in context. Suffice to say 'ouch'.

I had posted this earlier but my post was eaten. I'm not seeing this flick because I'm not into supporting scab work. The very idea to go back to "Casino Royale" and make it hardcore was the idea of Pierce Brosnan and Quentin Tarantino. Brosnan had wanted to do this kind of flick ever since *Golden Eye* was a hit. And each time he brought it up, Eon shot it down. They especially did not want Tarantino helming it. Instead, they gave the audience the krap films that Brosnan was saddled with. Then, with their hubris, they decided to fire Brosnan and blame him for the quality loss when they only had their own cokeheaded stupidity to blame. So Brosnan is unceremoniously fired and they hire Craig - against the wishes of most Bond fans - to be a scab replacement. Sorry but I have some sense of ethics and thus I will not be contributing a dime to this film's box office. And hopefully many others will feel the same which will cause Sony MGM to grow a spine and refuse to release any further Bond films until the moronic producers at Eon are shite-canned (or are silent producers with only screen credit), and we get Brosnan back for a final decent film and ready to hand over the franchise to Daniel Craig or Julian McMahon.

I don't give a shit what anyone says. To all these dudes saying Bond has to be more traditionally good looking I say, what the hell, are you a homo? Craig is more of a man's man, if you will. This dude is gonna be one bad motherfucker if you ask me. And even if you didn't, I'll say it anyway, you Timothy Dalton loving fucks.
