Eden is fantastic

Eden is one of only three manga I'm currently reading (the others being Berserk and Battle Angel Alita: Last Order). Planetes was great too but seems to be on hold for now.

Planetes is an excellent work, one everyone should read, whether they are manga and sci-fi fans or not. Part four is the end. Makoto Yukimura could go back to it, but I haven't seen any indication that he plans to. Yukimura is currently working on Vinland Saga, a historical work about Vikings. (Fan translations of Vinland Saga exist)

Where's the outrage over the Clintons and the democrats Censorship of Path to 9/11?? I remember the outrage over the " The Reagans" being sent packing to Showtime. But this is outrageous...fucking liberals.

The outrage should be ABC toying with 9/11 and making shit up. Surprised I have never heard of Eden before. Very surprised, sounds huge. Finding fan copies of Vinland Saga is hard as hell too.

Anime and manga DON'T suck! People who enjoy anime and manga are well adjusted people who don't have problems getting partners. ;P **** Been looking to read and watch Planetes for a while. Need to check that out. Also Eden sounds interesting. Thanks Scott!!
Serial Experiments: Lain

Haven't seen Eden - probably will now after that review. And if you like your sci-fi anime "more brain, less brawn" do check out Serial Experiments: Lain. I would write a review of Lain much like Mr Green has done so for Eden, so no room (or time) for that here and now. But I consider Lain to be the finest animated series I've seen. To me it's the epitome of "They'd never try this in the US" - a piece of uncompromising speculative fiction, so thought provoking that my partner and I were in awe of what it all meant, let alone that someone actually got funding to produce an _animated series_ of it! Highly recommended.
Excellent work Scott.

The best column on AICN. Focused, hardcore and fan worthy with lots of good meat to dive into and chew on and little to zero unnecessary "lite" fluff.

I haven't seen Lain in about 6 years, but it left a distinct impression. Since that seems true of others as well, I'm thinking of putting together something involving reader submissions and possibly a contest. Say tune...

It was announced that Anno has signed on to make 4 Evangelion movies, the first being a prequel, the next during the middle of the series then a sequel to that and a final movie. Just thought someone should report that since it's cool news and all.
Wow! Now I'm definately hankering to check out Eden!

Excellent review! Though I'm a hardcore Catholic I'm always up to read stuff with Gnostic depth just for the heck of it thoguh I cxan't appreciate it as much. Although what does have me foaming are Scott's descriptions about how the manga presents human sufferring and tragedy. I'm currently trying my own hand at writing and creating my own story (which I hope I can accomplish sometime in my lifetime) in that vein and it'll help to see how other creators tackle and present such things...
I meantioned the Evangelion news in the last Anime tb

I expected they'd make a remake based on Sadamoto's manga, but now it turns out that these films will be canonical and part of the series??!! Interesting... and I wonder if it has anything to do with the live action movie, whether to raise money or affect the story... I'm definately looking forward to it... On a side note, I wonder if they'll ever use the Mana Kirishima character from Iron Maiden, I just kinda like her and think Shinji could use a break (^_^)

That is really a great show! Fuckin love it! But if anything needs to be fleshed out more, I'd love if someone could explain to me what Texhnolyze is all about? Was reading some explanations of it, particularly that it had much to do with Buddhism and it's versions of heaven and hell or soemthing like that... I picked up a box set of it a few days back with the nice 3D covers all over it and am currently watching it over again...
