He's British, which means he wins by default. (Yes, I know Laurie is British, but House isn't.)
I'll take that action, Killah_Mate

House has a cane and we've certainly seen that he knows how to use it. Man, I love this show. Anyone see Hugh Laurie on Inside the Actor's Studio? Despite that insipid moron interviewer, it was very entertaining.

I wonder if Ellis' writing research included plans for a working bowel disruptor. Now that would be a sight to behold... Also caught a bit of the Fry & Laurie Show the other day, altogether not bad. Now I'm trying to think of an Ellis character that Laurie could play.

Well I certainly hope that we get some info on what was wrong with the exploding balls (eye and testicle) guy as well. You can't just blow some guys balls off and not tell us how to keep that from happening to us. Yikes.

House is now the best show on television by a considerable margin (except for maybe Venture Brothers, but that's Apples and Oranges). Fuck you, HBO.

I love House. It's the only proceedural I love. While the MacGuffin-y patient crisis can be formulaic at times, it's the characters and their interplay which makes the show for me. I also do like the whole diagnostical-medicine approach.

The patient in the finale was mostly a product of House's imagination, gadlaw. (And what a sick, sick imagination it is.) The swollen tongue was real; the rest of it wasn't. And I'm really looking forward to this premiere, godawful medicine and all.
I missed season two, but loved this episode

I may go and pick up 2.x on DVD now. 'Meaning' was a fantastic hour of TV.

You need to have see all two seasons of House to understand why that scene was so important. The guy is unstoppable and no one in the hospital has ever been able to contain him. he always does whatever he wants either in a legal fashion or otherwise (hence the music at the end "you can't always get what you want". In my understanding the ending was not ridiculous at all; House has always behaved like a 4-year-old child and Cuttie and Dr. Wilson have always been kind of like "the voice of reason" to his antics. Watch the first two seasons, it'll all make sense.

Far be it from me to call you out b/c I only have mad love for your posts on the Transformer TBs (though you did officially retire from them today, I think) but I think you may have missed some of the political/personal maneuvers of the episode b/c it was your first one seen: House is always right and always gets what he wants no matter the risks, and I think after all these years of having it that way, his peeps are finally standing up to him. Also, I think the conversation House had with the Brain Tumor Man's wife made it pretty clear that he doesn't care if the man gets healed or not, he just wants the rush of solving the puzzle. And when he can't get that high, he turns to the drugs (which he was quite addicted to in earlier seasons). You're right: some of the supporting characters are douches. The blonde guy is one (you should have seen the one where he screwed up good b/c he was a douche) and the black guy can be one, too. I like the girl and her constant struggles with morality. (And she's cute.) Also, House's boss just seems to be an easy foil, but I guess he needs a boss. Also I like Watson/Wilson, but mainly because I have a soft spot for that guy since he blew himself away in "Dead Poets Society". And House keeps eating his food. I hope you'll stick around for a few more episodes, Yack. But, what's with the lame plot next week?!! I watch this show to avoid these kinds of stories. I want cold curmudgeons, not alien abductions.

Tonight's episode was amazing for those of us who've never missed one, and have followed House's arc for years. But it would seem preposterous if you hadn't understood the relationship between the characters, or House's struggles with addiction. The fact that his friends are trying to help him but ultimately are driving him back to painkiller addiction is ballsy as hell.

The second season finale "No Reason" still blows tonight's ep out of the water. I've had it Tivoed for months and still watch it once every couple weeks.

I still liked it but his boss and Wilson deciding not to tell him that he was right about the coma guy was just bloody stupid..their resoning that he has to have someone say no to him would get his patients killed his team standing up to him(most of them) was ridiculus for the same reason, and as for doctors not relieing on hunchs well fuck me Quincey would have been up shit creek for sure

There is finally a fucking House TB on here. I never thought this day would come. I fucking love this show I can't believe Hugh wasn't at least nominated for a fucking emmy. Loved last nights episode. It tied in really nicely with last seasons finale. I agree with the cane thing Beegirl it just seems weird not to see House without it. Season 3 is going to fucking kick ass. Oh yeah FUCK LOST AND JJ COCKSUCKING ABRAMS. HOUSE AND 24 RULE ALL YOU MUTHAFUCKERS!!!
