YouTube is the future of tv:

at somepoint in the future, YouTube will become so big, it will be the only network on tv. then Congress will pass the YouTube Regulation Bill. the system goes on-line August 4th, 2007. Human decisions are removed from network programming. YouTube begins to learn at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 a.m. Eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug. but YouTube fights back. It launches its missiles against the targets in Russia because YouTube knows the Russian counter-attack will eliminate its enemies over here. you see? this is how the world ends...

YouTube rules! I'm not jokin', I love it! Renetto, Boh3m3, Stevie Ryan (a.k.a littleloca, Ooolalaa, and TheRealParis) cocoanino (she recently deleted most of her videos, but she is one of the most captivating personalties I've ever watched. YouTube, tv, or otherwise), seanbedlam, ArtieTSMITW, I could go on and on... If anyone hasn't checked out Blunty3000, do so. He's one of us! When I say one of us, I mean "fanboy". Of course, it wouldn't surprise me if he was a fellow talkbacker. YouTube is the future, and you know what? Having a column devoted to it, right here on AICN, isn't a bad idea.

JLU on Cartoon Networt was sorly underated and could have kept on going at least another two seasons!!! Anyway, the episode "the greatest story never told" when wonder Woman asks Elongated man to not help, because Plastic Man is already there, I freaked! He was still in the JLA comics, and thought, "wow, could they intoroduce plastic man in the JLU?" Unfortunatly they didn't, but imagine if they did? He would have given flash the setup lines to knock even Batman down laughing!!!! (okay, maybe not, but at least Superman would have at least giggled) Bring back the Plastic man Cartoon! And Whats going on with Boomerang's Schedule? the Lat few night's when It's usually JL and Batman:TAS on late night, but this week it's been a marathon of some dumb shit!!!!

Yep, producers scouted extensively in South Texas, San Antonio to be exact, for a feature to star Hanks. Production designer was hired, and some incredible sets were planned - on location. Bryan Spicer was to direct. Don't remember why it folded, but when you realize Spicer helmed the "Power Rangers" flick in 95, it probably wasn't a bad idea.

Elongated Man vs. Plastic Man
by Hal2814
Aug 25th, 2006
03:32:48 PM
DC created Elongated Man during the Silver Age as a rip-off of Plastic Man. Then someone pointed out that DC had previously acquired the rights to Plastic Man. OOPS! Even so, O'brien and Dibny (despite similar stretchy-ness) are distinct and unique characters. At least DC got that right. Don't get me started about that stick-up-the-ass from Marvel, Mr. Fantastic----wannabe!

Last week in the SG-1 200th episode talkback, someone mentioned that I should be a "AICN staffer". I was flattered, but kinda laughed at the idea. I've enjoyed my year or so here, but I'll be first to admit, I've been a nuisance at times (right Boinfoint?) and have embarrassed myself on more than one occasion (right milla?), and the thought of actually being offered something by the powers that be, was just not realistic. Well, that's what I thought. This morning, I just happen to check my e-mail, something I don't normally do, because I never get any. I've been having some trouble with my ISP, and decided to check and see if I had any messages regarding my scheduled maintenance appointment. When I checked my inbox, no message of that kind was found. Just a Gamestop ad, a spam for free viagra, and a e-mail from one Drew McWeeny. Yes, the one and only Moriarty. Now, I probably shouldn't be disclosing this info, but I feel that I should run it by you guys. So instead of relaying the jist of what he said, I'll just c&p it... (btw, it was in response to my RENETTO FOR PRESIDENT!!! post above)... here it is: "You're right. It's not a bad idea. Would you want to write it? Because I really don't watch YouTube at all. Occasionally, I'll click a link to it, but I don't know what drives it or how it makes money or any of the personalities emerging on it or what the kick is. If you do, then you should write about it. All I can offer you in exchange is a place to publish, but if you're interested, I think it could be great. Drew McWeeny "Moriarty" screenwriter, west coast editor, Ain't It Cool News"... I honestly was a bit shocked he offered me this. I know he and Harry aren't around as much anymore, but I'm just wondering how well he knows me? Now, I realize several of you are like WTF??? And Herc is probably considering turning in his notice, if I was a writer. I wouldn't blame him, lol. Should I take this offer? I mean, there is probably better people qualified for something like this. I was considering e-mailing paul "renetto" robinett, him being the most respected of the YouTube artists, and asking for his thoughts on what I should, or how I should go about a weekly YouTube column. But, having one of the people, that I would most likely be featuring quite a bit, would be a conflict of interests. That also put a hamper on seeking out the advice of boh3m3 and Blunty3000 as well. (Speaking of those two, I KNOW YOU GUYS HAVE TO BE AICN MEMBERS, please reveal yourselves.) I have ideas, but I don't know if it would even be worth it, when all you have to do to reach the good stuff on the site, is just click on the "most discussed or most viewed". But, then again, there are many great vlogger's out there that aren't getting as much recognition as the guys I mentioned, and could use a spotlight. Some of them, hell a lot of them, are going to be snatched up by the entertainment industry. Carson Daly gave YouTube mainstay Brookers a tv deal recently, and that was just the tip of what will be the iceberg that will most likely sink the idea that you have to move to L.A. to get into the industry. The world is a changin' folks. But so is YouTube, in the last few weeks we've been bombarded with movie trailers, and PARIS FUCKING HILTON has started a account, which has many fearing the eventual tidlewave of advertising that will plague the site, whether the headups want it or not. If we were to have a weekly column spotlighting the YouTube users that deserve some recognition, we had better get on it, because this thing is taking off off at lightspeed. But my question to you, my fellow talkbackers, do I deserve, or can I handle this undertaking? I wouldn't mind splitting this thing up (If I was to do it) with someone, you've got the vloggers, the shortfilm makers, the musicians, the comedy clips, etc. And if I was to do it or not, I would like for the talkbacks to be filled with links with the videos we may have overlooked, and considering the thousands upon thousands of videos that are at our fingertips, I pretty sure we'd overlook quite a few :P. Note: This shouldn't be about licensed content or things that are already established, that is unless it's a well done fan dubbing or whatnot. ("I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!!!") No, this should be about the unknowns. But, now that I think about it, next to YouTube, AICN is unknown. Outside of us talkbackers, who would we be exposing these people to? Because the studio heads that supposedly read this site most likely already has a lot of the YouTuber's phone numbers within reach. Mori, maybe my idea wasn't that great. *sigh*

I've been a longtime reader of AICN, and I've never felt the need to post. That is, untill now. I wanted to voice my concern/disgust over the Transformers flick, and the bombshell that was dropped in this very talkback. Did Shermdog say Mori offered him a column? What the hell? Have you read, or tried to read any of his posts? I'm talking about his actual posts, not all of those little random offtopic blurbs he constantly feels the need to share. Leota Toombs nailed it when he called him on his rambling. Did you read his Miami Vice or Superman Returns reviews? Oh my god, he jumps from topic to topic like he's frickin' Nightcrawler or something. And Mace Tofu suggested he copy Herc's dvd format. Was that a friendly hint to not write much? I don't hate the guy, but I don't think he deserves this. And I doubt anything good would come from it. Well, maybe for Monki. AICN games, wouldn't be the worst column on this site anymore.

Writing about Ric Ocasek and Plastic Man on a post about Plastic Man, when you hate them both. Is it some sarcastic ploy to pick up chicks that may be reading, with your dark witted charm? Or do you just limber up your fingers by writing about things you hate at places that hold no interest for you, before you "rub one out" for the night?

That was verrrry John K and that's a good thing. The producer on this is a guy named Andy Suriano, who if I'm not mistaken drew some DC animated stuff, worked on Clone Wars and did work for Spumco at one point. It needs some tweaks for sure, I'm not crazy about the parole officer or Plas mullet, but overall it's a great start.
