This guy is so pumped up on roids it's silly. Even his eyeballs are just screaming to be set free of his sockets. Honestly, this trailer reminds me of the rundown a bit, in only the way it presents the freeze frame action, and the camera angles. It also reminds me of Hard Target quite a bit. Robert Patrick (who is really good in The Unit - he didn't ruin the Xfiles - come on) seems to be having a blast spewing trite silly lines. I can't imagine ever watching this on anything but cable though.

Okay first off, no one knew The Rundown was produced by WWE and we all know movies with pro wrestlers aren't good unless they play a pro wrestler (See The Macho Man as Bone Saw in Spidey 1). The only exception is The Rundown, and I don't even like that movie! However in movies where pro wrestlers make an appearance there have been some cool scenes and this by no means gives credit to those movies! Some performances have been pretty decent until said wrestlers perform their special "move" This movie might be mind-numbing entertainment until John Cena perfroms his signature move then it will blow. Wrestling fans will fight for this movie but I think it will be just under par but I will give it an open mind. Lets just hope they don't get carried away with themselves. What I mean by that is a war movie with a "Dirty Dozen" like group of pro wrestlers.

...but I don't follow wrestling beyond what my friends mention, and don't know Cena from sayonara, but I watched this thinking Steve Rogers brought to life. Is this guy a tremendously bad actor, 'cause it was tough to tell from that. I like The Rock quite a bit, and he is a decent actor that tries different things (like Be Cool)and can carry a film if he needs to, but I need some imput on Cena to judge beter. Physically though, I can see that face under the blue cowl really easily

Merrick called it right about me, I think this trailer looks awesome. That is a truly ridiculous amount of explosions right there. I love the part where they shoot at the bottom of an airborne car, that's inspired. And I'm so happy to see that the avenging-the-death-of-your-wif e formula is coming back to theatrical films. Every other generic plot survives so it's good to see that old classic escape the DTV dungeon. The one question is this Cena guy. Notice that they only give him one line in the trailer, and he delivers it horribly. Hopefully he will be as good as Brian Bosworth or Howie Long and things will work out, but I'm not sure yet. Anyway, somebody said STONE COLD, this actually reminds me more of Bosworth's ONE TOUGH BASTARD/ONE MAN'S JUSTICE because in that one his wife and kid get killed at a gas station. I gotta sort of correct Merrick about THE RUNDOWN, though. Vince McMahon's only "producing" for that movie was to be paid for the use of the copyrighted name "The Rock." If he has ever done any real producing it was probaly for the spectacularly retarded and awesome SEE NO EVIL, which was the first under the prestigious WWE Films banner.

there is nothing wrong with WWE having a film division. The problem becomes if they don't give a shit if the quality is andy good. I didn't see See No Evil, but apparently it was wretched. And Peter Berg should be to The Rock what Cameron is to Arnold. The Rundown is a very good action movie.

I don't know who John Cena is (obviously a WWE wrestler, but I don't follow, so sue me). This is a very well-done trailer, IMO. If Ceno's a bad actor, they did a fine job coverign it up, because the expressions and reaction shots he shows look pretty decent. We may have just found our next Big Man Action Hero. I'll see this on DVD at the very least, unless I start seeing some good reviews come out. Not bad...

I know I've said this to death, but it's still true. Maybe I'll check it on cable TV. All I was thinking while watching this trailer was, "Yeah! this is good old fashioned action stuff. No matrix ripoff crap." But then I saw the pg-13 and thought of all the quick cut, bloodless, non-bullet impact stuff to come. Oh well.. I guess Vince McMahon wants the kiddies to come out for John Cena, and that's his business. It's cool..I ain't bitter. After all, Vince's just a businessman and not an true artiste' like Craig R. Baxley. Craig would demand his bullet hits as they're intregal to the visual texture of the piece....or something. And he would be right dammit. Because when it comes to the world of dumb action flicks...Americans would rather have a greasy Big Mac than a veggie burger. Baxley is a genius. And Commando too AKA The Gold Standard of Dumb American Action Movies. If they had a re-release in theatres, I'd watch it 5x no joke. Harry you need to make Commando your next Alamo Drafthouse event. hey I'm sorry man read it wrong...but comon, it's got more then one good fight, it's got the classic bank scene, it's got the good fight between him and the black guy and didn't he knock aorund the freaky chick a little too and it's got the great closing scene too where the naked chick is riding the ailen and she looks down and screams, while the TV has an ailen going on about Wes Carpenter or John Craven, something like that, she screams and the ailen is like what's wrong baby roll credits...but it is cheesy. but I have to admit I haven't seen all of the Rundown so I don't know much about it, but They Live man, classic...I got it for 5 bucks at Cock...Blockbuster...I think, it might have been at a local video store.

He's trying to be this generation's Hulk Hogan with only knowing about 5 wrestling moves (and executing them horribly), recording albums (yes, there is a Hulk Hogan music album, unfortunately not rapping like the Macho Man did), and making lame movies while only appealing to marks who aren't old or smart enough to understand that good wrestling is 10000x better than good promo ability (and his promos have been stinking the joint up lately). It's a shame because guys like Christoper Daniels and AJ Styles should be at the top of the wrestling business. Anyone ever see their matches? ...they are a hell of a lot better than Cena. The only thing nowadays worth seeing on WWE is DX. The slapstick comedy HBK and HHH do is just awesome. Some of the best material in the WWE. I also agree that Cena is great at 5 Questions and sucks at everything else. But that doesnt make him a good actor. Even Ashton Kutcher and the Stiffmeister are better actors than Cena, and for the record I HATE THOSE GUYS!! I think Cena will be around (unfortunately) for the next few years, at least until the demise of hip-hop mentality. Cena's old gimmick in Ohio Valley Wrestling before he came to the WWE? He played a Terminator-like character called "The Prototype". I'm surprised nobody has ever made jokes about him on WWE about that. Also, I didn't think HHH did a bad job in "Blade: Trinity". I know that Edge was in "Highlander 4", but I never saw that, so I couldn't comment. I would like to see Christian Cage do some movie work...he does some good promos on TNA and when he was in WWE.

Christian is in Shoot 'Em Up, along with, I believe, Chris Jericho. And when Cena was in OVW, that was right after he stopped bodybuilding, and he still had alot of the size from it. Plus, little factoid, Samoa Joe and Cena both wrestled in UPW, which kinda became OVW. Joe took the title off him, i think, and was the last UPW champ. So see? Im not a Cena geek. And with the wellness policy only Eugene has had his drug-related suspension disclosed (only cuz it was so close to Eddie's death and it was before the wellness thing was worked out) while all others are secret as people like Chris Masters and Joey Mercury disappear in thin air and only the internet reporters find out what's up. Plus it seems like the whole wellness thing affects Smackdown, the WWE's b-show, as opposed to Raw with Masters the only one who took the hit from the Raw brand while Smackdown has lost a number of people.

They disclosed why Lashley and Khali were pulled,although they didn't know why their enzymes were up. Obviously, it wasn't a violation, because they were both back tonight. But really, they dont have to tell anyone. And really, they shouldn't. As to why Raw hasn't been hit as hard, it is because alot of the wrestlers on that show are known for being cleaner then (appearently) some of the guys on Smackdown. Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and actually even john Cena are all known to be pretty hardcore about staying clean. Tho, i never said Cena hasn't ever used steroids, and even said he probably had when he was body building. And i never said no one used, just that WWE are being hard assed about the Wellness Policy right now. I also said it wouldn't last. And it won't.

The ones on Raw who have had problems in tha past have had help, and probably really dont want to lose their jobs, and another violation would do that. Jeff Hardy was fired not for being addicted, but because he would'nt go into rehab. And that is actually why it has taken so long for him to come back, because he didn't want to follow the policy. Must have worked it out, or maybe they've stopped giving a shit a lot sooner then i thought they would.

Looks like coughed up of shit. I dont mind the basic concept of this film which is basically action, and a lame plot. Just some friday night jerk off material when there's nothing else going on at the cinemas, but naming it 'the marine' when the only thing it has to do with marines is the protagonist used to be one. No More wrestling stuff. I just wanted to repeat that the spin kick he does in the trailer is possibly the single most athletic thing John Cena has ever done. I have to see that in the theater, Plus, explosions. There are atleast four seperate ones just in the trailer, and none of them look like the climatic, end of the bad guy explosion. And that is just too many things blowing up for me to ignore.

And I thought the worst trailer I was going to see this year was for The Guardian. Not a single thing about this movie screams balls to the walls action.
