They fuck up everything. First they cancel Firefly and show the show out of order. Then they cancel Arrested Development. Then they advertise watch season 5 of 24 again in order...then about a third of the way through, the execs decide against it and quit showing it for the movie of the week. So if there is a new show on FOX, don't get attached to it, it will probably be fucked up some how.

A "Put" pilot means that the producer/creator is guranteed that the pilot will be bought,scripted, shot and be placed on the schedule. A normal pilot can be terminated at any point in it's development. If a "put" pilot is terminated there is usually a large financial penalty levied against the offending network. The upcoming CBS show "The Class" is a "put" pilot. It had a 13 episode guarantee from the start. Generally a "put" pilot is a reflection of the power and import of a show's producer and/or stars.
