that SO doesn't count, Latauro...good stuff though, you're the surest chuckle on AICN now...'Daniel Baldwin plays the ugly one' was my favorite...ha! did you see Owen's response to Steely Dan? it was awkward. not funny or serious, just sort of lamely in the middle...like Dupree!!
In seeing the trailer, Jackman is better for FOUNTAIN

I honestly think this movie is going to further solidify is acting bona fides. I take it his character is going to be in practically every single scene, and if he does as well as I think he will, this movie is going to be awesome. And then he follows this up with THE PRESTIGE! I'm pretty psyched for the guy. Now, I don't think the original actor cast would have done well. Brad Pitt as a conquistador? I bet he would have taken on an English accent for that role, much like he did as Achilles the Greek warrior. Blech. And because Aronofsky was able to deliver a far less expensive movie with cheaper talent, I think guys like Pitt will (hopefully) become obsolete.

Yeah First is old and tired but I'm claiming it anyway, all you other bitches don't count. Apart from that, and while it's been up for a bit now does anyone find the latest poll on the main page just a bit disturbing? Harry et al seem to have gone a bit beyond ego with that one.....joke or not.
Am I the only one absolutely stoked to see Black Sheep?

I visualize them taking themselves very seriously & trying to make this scary with minimal comedy though. The laughs would just come naturally because it's killer sheep.
Just FYI Lat- Innarritu bashing is NOT cool.

Seriously, Amores Perros and 21 Grams were very, very awesome films, so keep the 'oh-they're-too-depres sing' snide remarks to a minimum, please. Thank you. ;)

Wonka: Haven't yet seen Owen's response. Got a link? Marmot: No, we all are. (That is, we're all excited to see the film, not we're all killer sheep.) I'm really looking forward to that one. Wrong Guy: I don't bash Innarritu because it's cool -- I do it because it increases my sexual potency.

That was pretty funny, actually. Steely Dan might have a point, but the fact that they addressed *Luke* Wilson of all people means they deserve comebacks like Owen's. Classic.

I'm making a brief return to talkbacking just to ease your inquisitive mind: Yes, the WIL director is the very same "Jeremy Weinstein" to whom Safran kept referring. He also did a documentary short a few years back where he tracked down surnamesake Harvey Weinstein. I actually met him in a Melbourne Uni Filmmaking Summer School way back in 2000. Nice enough dude, very confident, focused. So that's that, I'm done (again) with the talkbacking. Ciao!
21 Grams was overwrought

Melodramatic and histrionic. Naomi Watts and Sean Penn screeching at each other for 2 hours isn't my idea of "powerful drama". It's just a substitute for subtlty and genuine emotion. The disjointed narrative gimick is the perfect evidence of that.

Del Toro gave the feel good performance of the year with that offbeat screwball comedy
