described as being a bit 'off' in terms of looks. Not being handsome, but more a quirky kind of looking. Certainly not a looker, with funny ears etc that had come from the mingling of magical to normal. So, it figures that they've gone and hired some pretty boy in the lead :p

That's the set he should have tried to sneak on to. They've got to have cast another Brain Cox-type bad guy for this by now.

You've interviewed and hung around the sets of many of today's top film directors. In your opinion, what qualities or abilities, say the top 3 or 4, are requirements for any director to have? From whom you've observed, including Matthew Vaughn, what is absolutely perennial for a top director to master? Also, what seperates the average genre director (won't name names), from the guys at the top like Zemeckis, Spielberg, Ridley Scott. Thanks.

... as Captain Shakespeare? Thanks for the report, Moriarty. I want to know most about De Niro and his role, and how he plays it. Does he have an accent? What does he look like? It seems all the players were reported on but his. :(
Why isn't Tori Amos playing the tree?

You know, in her song 'Horses' she asks, 'but will you find me if Neil makes me a tree?' which is a reference to the red leafed tree in the first of the four original comic books that Stardust originated as - before the novel, before the trade collected the four together. The tree talks to Tristran and Neil based the character of that tree on Tori Amos, who he's mates with.
Ah, I just read the first report. :)

But any excuse to have Henry Cavill, Jason Flemyng, Noel Fielding and Nathaniel Parker in the same film is A-OK by me. And Septmus is an a-hole. :P Interestingly enough, Lamia is a character from mythology who is half-woman, half-snake, so the Kaa comparison is right on the money.

If you've seen the illustrated version, the drawings of Tristian goes from awkward teenager to handsome man in the ending, so I don't see that as a problem.

Without bring to this forum negativity, immaturity, or good old fashoned arrogance, which seems rare nowdays, I'll politely direct you to look up at Amazon.com or wherever the title 'Stardust' which originated as a four-comic release, was then collected in a trade, then, a few years later, was released in novel form by the amazingly talanted and really nice guy (speaking from many meetings with the chap) Neil Gaiman. Whose Sandman comics I began reading with issue 24 off the rack when I'd walk to the comic store - 3 miles each way (up hill both ways ;) and was the greatest thing for teenage me since Tolking. They're now collected in trades and worth buying - the whole 75 original issues and related 'one shots.' Some criticize 'Stardust' as being a sub-par release from the man, and maybe it's true, but I've not read the novel - just the comics and they're great with great artwork - so I don't know. I've read everything and anything I've been able to find from Gaiman ('Miracleman' still isn't affordable God damn it!!) and have a kind of alter back in the States dedicated to him, so I admit I'm a little biast. His best novel I think is 'American Gods' but some people think it's 'Neverwhere.' I've been introducing people to Gaiman since before I could drive - 14 years ago - and no one has ever been dissappointed yet. If you read 'Stardust,' please don't stop there and pick up 'Sandman - Preludes and Nocturnes' ASAP. It may just change you life like it did mine. Cheers.
