I saw the eps myself a couple of weeks ago - and I gotta say, I was at a loss for words. Thanks for finding them for me. Even all the weaknesses of the fifth season can't stain the sheer brillance of these five episodes. After five years, they teach the most important lesson, the lesson what "Babylon 5" was all about - that if you build it, they will come. You can do a five year arc, and then show how the payoff affects people. JMS cared for this universe, and because of that, so did we. Thank you Robogeek, thank you JMS, and thank you Universe, for something that awesome. Torsten

The review was really great. It was not too much, and not too little. This is from someone who has yet to see the "final five". I can't wait now! Thanks for the great review!
Glen, because of you, I'm a B5 fan

Back when you posted your original review of the final five episodes of Babylon 5, I was essentially a B5 neophyte. Sure, I'd seen a few episodes here and there. I'd even attended a few gatherings of B5 fanatics and quite frankly, I'm ashamed to admit that I always seemed to be the lone die-hard Trekkie sitting in the corner making rude comments about costumes and CGI FX. The day of your review, Glen, I accidentally caught the afternoon re-run of B5 on TNT. The episode was "And the Rock Cried Out, No Hiding Place." I knew enough about the characters to follow the story fairly well. The ending packed a whollop of a twist. Surprisingly, I found myself enjoying the show more than I thought I would, leading me to tune in the next day. Soon, these accidental viewings became a habit and I'm happy to say today I'm a hopeless B5 junkie. Peter Jurassik just lights up the screen whenever he's on. I live for itty-bitty scraps of screentime for Londo. I watched all of Season 4, most of Season 5, and today marks the end of my first run through Season 1. As of this date, only Season 2 and parts of Season 3 remain unwatched by me. And all of this spawned from your initial review of the "final five" way back when. Congratulations! Don't worry about posting spoilers, you haven't. Believe me you haven't. Your review sparked my curiosity about a series I otherwise wouldn't have noticed. In fact, your review made me a total B5 convert. I'm forever in your debt. In Valen's name.

I may well have missed the boat somewhere - but does anyone know when the C4 in UK is screening these episodes?. As regards to the review it is fantastic. I quite agree that knowing spoliers is a sometimes nice - but the level this is pitched at here is great. It provides a nice sneak peak ....

I must need some of what Robogeek was smoking, because I just saw the Fall of C.P, and it was among the most endlessly chatty, wooden, characterless eps in memory. And I'm a fan, I've seen them all (well, except that one in season 1 where the human wants to fight in the deathmatches...). The show demanded all you already knew about the characters in order to feel anything at all. My partner, nearly as avid a B5 fan as I, fell asleep during act 3. I hold hope for the rest of the eps, but if this one is the model for the brilliance ahead, I've missed a meeting somewhere.
Babylon 5 and the final eps.

I saw the Fall of Centauri Prime a few days ago. I must say that it was very well done, emotional, and touching. While the 5th season has been less than the 3rd or 4th seasons were, the ending 5 eps. will certaintly make up for it. The whole deal with Lando becoming Emperor was great, and the diolouge that Lando and G'Kar had was absolutely magnificent. Even the scene where they bid their final farewells, it was touching. And the sub-plot with Delenn and Lennier was good, however overshadowed by the conflict at Centauri Prime. Sheridan also took a central role, with his situation of being between a rock and a hard place. This eps. NEEDED to be wordy, and talkative (but had the right amount of CGI space battles), and any excessive battles would have seriously hampered the plot. This series has always been about the characters, and the wars and such are a part of the world that the characters live and interact in. By the way, in 2278, when Lando dies, it seems that the Drakh are gone, or they would have stopped G'Kar from killing Lando. Hmmmm...Babylon 5 is one of the truly best TV series to come out this decade, and will be looked at in the future as the "Star Trek" of their time. Also it will be looked at as a barometer for all future serious SF series. Hopefully WB/TNT won't fuck up Crusade, and that the B5 movie will become a reality (yes, the Telepath War is the way to go. Bring on Koeing!!!!). To supplement B5 fans until Crusade takes on full swing (or at least JMS gets its' *arc* in motion), here's a list of SF stuff to keep you all busy: Neon Genesis Evangelion(all 26 eps., and the movies! Truly a greatanimation!) Mobile Suit Gundam (the original series, Zeta Gundam, 0083, and Char's Counterattack. Best Space Opera next to B5!)
Better than the Jackson 5, no doubt.
