I don't know if German TV aired the episodes in the right order, but the last episode he was in, was the "Titanic"-Episode and the last thing he said there was something like "Only one actor died during the making of this episode". That's bad.

Never saw it on TV. And I was always put off by the dude who looks like a chick, but people keep raving about it, so I want to give it a burl and see if it comes up shiny. :::QUESTION::: If you had to lump a few other sitcoms in with this in terms of style, comedy etc. what would they be?

":::QUESTION::: If you had to lump a few other sitcoms in with this in terms of style, comedy etc. what would they be? "_______ It would be very hard to answer that question. There's very little out there like News Radio._____ Think a cross between Sports Night and Office Space. But sillier. And brilliantly written. Andy Dick vs Joe Rogan in an ultimate fight is one of the great moments of a great show. Or Bill's real name. Or the secret of Dave's birth location. Or Bill's exposure to rap. Great, great stuff. A must-have for any fans of GOOD sitcoms.
4th Season was Hartman's last

NewsRadio ran 5 seasons. Hartman was killed just a week or two or three after the "Titanic" episode aired. His very last appearance on a sitcom i think was a cameo on "Third Rock." The next season opened with the station learning that Bill McNeil had died. Only matthew was convinced that Bill had perhaps fled the country (in a plan he had occasionally talked about with matthew i guess). The next episode began with Jon Lovitz (who'd already appeared in two GREAT cameo performances as differenct characters) coming on to replace his friend Bill McNeil. In one very emotional scene Lovitz's character makes an on air rememberance of Bill McNeil and it's very clear that Lovitz is fighting back emotion in talking about his real best friend Phil Hartman. The 5th season was pretty whack in my opinion, although there were a few funny moments. I just don't think the cast could get past Phil's death, since he was "the glue" for the entire show. But season 4 has some super funny stuff. Can't wait to pick it up.

After Hartman died, the show got all out of whack. Jon Lovitz *was* funny in his two prior guest roles on the show, but his Max Louis character in season 5 got irritating really quickly (and not "funny" irritating, like Andy Dick). There *were* some bright spots in the last season (like the "S'Matthew" ep), but I certainly won't be buying it when (if?) it comes out. And more animated Lois Lane in her super-short miniskirt this week!

... I understand his point about the online community. Superman and X-Men and Singer and Ratner and Fox and Warner Bros. have become this political battle, which is just really bizarre. Personal feelings towards the people and the studios involved have shaped and mutated peoples thoughts and feelings about these two franchises. It's really become a sad situation, because there are those who literally wish ill upon one movie or the other. There are those who are desperately hoping Supes breaks X-Men's record opening as a way of showing up that flick. There are others who hopes Superman flops. Some people have picked a side and want you to do so too. Me? I loved X3 and I hope Superman Returns makes me just as happy. If it breaks X-Men's record, so what? If it doesn't, so what? But the politics is definitely there, trust me.

Gotta say, I'm with Mori on NightWatch. It definately does not stand on it's own as a film. I'm hoping DayWatch will improve on my memories of NightWatch, because all I remember is our sweaty hero screaming the whole time, people shouting at computer screens, and people hinting at things that sound awesome, but never happen....but hopefully WILL happen in the next movies. That and there's a video game that can predict the future.

How similar the cover to Syriana is to Good Night and Good Luck (the "torn" picture, and white background)? Is this some new George Clooney trademark? And also, has anyone seen these George Clooney and Angelina Jolie "Collection" sets, featuring three random films from their early careers.

I NEVER thought that movie would get a dvd release. Like The Keep, I just assumed it was one of my high school favorites that was forever forgotten. A mixture of Raiders, a pirate movie and a love story all mixed together. Great movie (and very violent for a PG-13 rated flick).

I was very anxious to see where the film was going. I was on the edge of my seat and after 2 hours, NOTHING HAPPENED. It went nowhere. A random serious of events built up that just hit a wall. Well acted, well directed and well, a film with ZERO replay value.

For those of you who think it was some cheap attempt to cash in on the Indiana Jones craze, you are WRONG. It was a BIG BUDGET attempt (by the same studio btw, Paramount) to cash in and for me it worked. The action sequences are fantastic, the characters are likeable and it is actually much faster-paced and more fun than POTC. Do not dismiss this title as a throw-away as you will be cheating yourself. And did I mention how fucking gory it is for a PG-13 movie? Oh yeah, I did.

It wasn't Hartman who was floating dead in the water at the end of that episode, it was Stephen Root. I remember because Bill (Hartman) was up on the piece of wood or whatever they were floating on with pretty much the rest of the cast, when Root's Jimmy James character floated by in life jacket. Bill commented that he didn't look good as he just floated by. One of the others said that he was dead. Bill then said, I believe, "Oh. Well then he looks great!" It was the typical Bill line. Then he came back during the credits for the "wrap-up," so to speak, which he had done the year before in that season's outer space setting finale. I don't remember the line of him saying that only one actor died, but it is very creepy if he said that. And yes, he did a 3rd Rock from the Sun cameo where he kidnapped French Stewart's character for being with Jan Hooks' character, as Hartman's character was her psychotic ex. He then witnessed Stewart getting a transmission from the Big Giant Head and realized he had a genuine freakshow on his hands from which he could profit. He was supposed to reappear at the beginning of the next season, but of course did not. They wrote it out by having Stewart's character in a freak show, having been sold to them by Hartman's character. And if memory serves, in a slight way to replace Hartman's kind of comedy, they had Larry Miller as the guy who ran the freak show and was now exploiting French Stewart. I can't believe I remember all of that.
Lack of a "super-powered" Supes in TAS...

That's actually why I liked the show. It was more suspenseful to see Supes have to strain a bit to lift something heavy, to see him realistically react when getting shocked or whatever, than to have his powers be so ridiculously God-like. Granted, the "wimp-ification" of Supes got a bit out of hand in the first season of Justice League, where pretty much every episode had him being taken out with a single missle or laser blast.

Selling people the wrong bridge as trying to say its a spy movie. Yeah, Clooney's stuff is the best things in there (aside from the amazing performance by the former Dr. Bashir), but you'll end up with a few pissed off readers if you tell 'em its just a spy thriller. There's alot more stuff in there, and not all of it is very good, IMO. But it definitely has its moments, fo shizzle.

That's what we saw Nate and Hayes as over here in the UK and I bloody love that film. I think that it was actually a New Zealand made film - not just shot in New Zealand but actually NZ funded (or partly funded). It got Tommy Lee Jones before he became mega-famous, it has the gorgeous, sexy Jenny Seagrove and Miles O'Keefe. I never got why people called this an Indy rip-off - sure it's a period action piece and has one joke very early on that sort of references Indy and it has a ropebridge stunt that predates Temple of Doom. It's funny, violent and action packed and fuck me but the sight of an old fashioned pirate ship taking on a pre WW1 German battle ship is really cool. It kinda reminded me of a Pirate version of 'Big Jake' - old fashioned adventurers trying to fit into a new world! It does suffer from having a bit of a whacked up timeline but still I am so happy that this film is being released - I only hope that it has a few extras (doubtful) and that one day a decent score album of the soundtrack will be released.

it was one of those movies from the 80's that I remembered fondly. I bought it on VHS when I first moved to Los Angeles. Let me say that time has not been kind to this movie. It was embarrassingly bad, especially Tommy Lee Jones. It looked cheap, whether or not the budget was. If you've never seen it, go ahead and watch it. But don't be drawn in by the hyperbole on this site. hey'd have you believe it was right up there with Raiders and Romancing the Stone. It isn't. Athough I used to love Nate and Hayes, upon review, it's just not very good.

which really took a darker tone following the 2 parter "Apokolips now" where a supporting character gets offed. i love this episode mainly for the last 5 seconds..during a cemetary supermans utters.."the world didn't need a superman, but a brave man." dedicated to the late, great king..Jack F**king Kirby.i'm no fan of paUL Dini but i must admit the final episode Legacy was a cool way to end the series. and Justice league season 2 is another set i'm looking forward to owning. I just got this and so far I'm not very happy. It is a flipper disc with one side being an English version which has it in a few languages (none of which are the origianl Russian) plus subtitles, and the other side is a Russian version which has the Russian language track, BUT NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES other than English for the hearing impaired. LAME. I hate watching foreign films dubbed, and I hate how every sound is subtitled. I don't know how they managed to mess this one up so bad.

I know I'm about a week late on the subject but I just want it on record that I used to love this movie. I realize, not having seen it in some time, that it has probably aged badly. Isn't this always the case? The one thing that really stands out after many years of not having seen it is the soundtrack, a gem from Trevor Jones that essentially was wasted on a film which few actually saw. Either way, if they do the right thing and price this as low as it should be, no disrespect intended, then I'll think of purchasing.
