This has been a pretty decent season of Survivor. But i honestly wonder how much more it has in the tank. I think the show would be better if CBS would turn down the hype machine on it. How many times can i be told something shocking/new is going to happen only to produce a barely audible "meh" from me when something lame occurs instead?

If the survivors are dull, or vote out the most interesting people early, then there's not much the producers can do to save it. But that's no different from sports, if a team is having a terrible season, all we can do is hope the next one is better. For me, this one has ranked in the middle of the pack, though I loved Cirie!

The 2 tribe thing seems played out. I'd go for 3 tribes of 7, each tribe very different in its makeup. Make one tribe 3 young guys and 4 pretty girls, the next 4 older guys and older girls and the 3rd tribe totally made up of ethnically diverse people for instance a black guy and girl, an asian girl, a latino guy, a hindi girl, a arabic guy and a transexual (of any ethnicity). By giving 3 diverse groups you can play up the games strengths. I'd love to see a person of arabic background but in a group dominated by anglos that guy doesn't survive. Survivor tends to be ethnically slated towards anglos (although winners have shown a tad more variation jewish guy, latino girl and black girl winners) but it would be nice to see a group of non whitebread contestants trying to work together. Ensure group cohesiveness by telling them that there will only be a merge when one group is eliminated, if you are down to 2 people and go to council you both go home. To me the game loses momentumn when the merge comes merely because the team element goes out the window and the internal politics of a group fall apart post merge.

Last season was pretty good, but this one continued in the tradition of Vanuatu and Palau. Nothing happens...EVER. They just sit around, doing nothing, and maybe have an occasional argument, But even those are lame. Instead they have to fill time with watching people clean a rock garden. And there is absolutely ZERO strategy, and these people are horrible at the challenges. I think they need to stop with this weird need to cast beauty pageant winners and models, and hire interesting people. They can still put in some hot contestants, but how about make sure they're interesting, too? For some reason, nearly every recent season has had some Miss Whatever. Even last season's winner. Bleh.

until this season...for some reason I was hooked. There are some strong arguments about a lack of strategy this season. I think Terry should have used the immunity idol right after the merge to even up the tribes and then possibly pull Bruce or one of the others over. I loved the exile island aspect of things and quite honestly I've loved the survivors. I admire Cirie for making it this far, but I'm really pulling for Terry because he has really played an above-the-board game. He hasn't had to lie or back stab or double cross anyone to get to where he's gotten. This is just my opinion though.

As far as the hidden immunity. If If remember correctly, even if Terry used it right after they merge, the would have still needed at least 1 person from the other tribe to come over in order to even the numbers. But since he did not use it at that point. I saw no point in him using it on anyway other than himself. I agree with the poster above, I am pulling for him, because of his dominance in order to make it to the final 4 and he didn't lie or backstab etccc. Saying all of that, I think during the fire challenge tie breaker he needs Cyrie (spelling to loose). I think he might have a slight chance of the other girl (can't think of her name at the moment) taking him, but when it comes to Aras and Cyrie, I believe that thier bond is so tight, they will only take each other, not matter if they think they have a better chance against one of the other 2. Go Terry!

How could anyone call this one of the worst? There were some very strong and unique personalities this season. The hidden immunity idol really shook up the undercurrent off the game. "It never was used just because Terry dominated the challenges so long. It would be wild if they allowed those idols again - and even more crazy if they had two!

That could have been one of the most brilliant episodes of Survivor ever. Instead, Aras chose Cirie to go on the yacht with him isolating Danielle and letting her plot with Terry. He should have chosen Terry to go with him so that Danielle and Cirie would continue to think they were going to vote off Terry. Then Danielle kept pestering Terry for the idol. If he was smart, and I think he is, he would have given it to her at the last minute, before she could have a chance to let the other members know she had it. Aras and Cirie would still vote for Danielle, there would be a tie, and she would break it with the Idol sending Cirie home and that girl needs to go if Terry hopes to win. Right now, to make the final two, she's got to win that fire building challenge and then pray to god that Aras wins the next immunity challenge. But even then, she's too likeable and he'd probably pick Terry for the final 2.

neither particularly good no particularly bad. i'm glad to see aras in the final three. he seems to have played the game fairly well, without being underhanded or obnoxious. it's amazing he's still in it, really. terry would be halfway decent if he wasn't such a conceited asshole. he has some real issues with the fact that aras is half his age. at least once an episode, he makes a point of bitching in the on-camera interviews about aras being 24 and/or being 40-something himself. people keep comparing him to tom from survivor palau, but tom was at least somewhat humble and was an actual hero (a firefighter), rather than a pussy fighter pilot.

terry really should have given danielle the hidden immunity idol. even if aras and cerie had somehow managed to predict that would happen and both vote for terry, it still would have been deadlocked between terry and cerie, in which case terry could presumably beat cerie in the fire-building challenge. it would have been slightly risky, but totally worth it for terry, as it would have pretty much guaranteed terry a place in the final two.

If she had it, she would have told Aras and Cerie and they would have voted his ass off. The only way he should have given it to her would have been at the very last minute before she could have a chance to let them know what he was doing. Then she'd still have to vote with him. But she made such a fuss over getting it from him that he couldn't trust her with it. Had she been quite about it and not pestered him, he probably would have given it to her on the way to the council. Granted she could still have double crossed him at the council somehow, I still think it would have been a good strategy had she played it right.

In that type of environment, it's guarenteed to happen. The only way Terry can deal with it is to act like the elder and smack Aras upside the head (which he did when he demanded an apology for the 'degrading women' remark Aras made). And you don't have any idea about what fighter pilots do. Firefighters are heros, but fighter pilots are too. Those birds can fly supersonic jets and bomb enemy positions. sorry, but i consider fighter pilots pussies, even though i wanted to be one when i was younger. then i grew up and realized that bombing the shit out of stuff just wasn't that cool. i'm not saying most fighter pilots couldn't kick my ass, mind you. i just have to question the "bravery" of guys who make bombing runs in million-dollar machines that do most of the work for them, as opposed to firefighters, who risk incredibly painful deaths actually trying to SAVE people rather than kill them.

Dear God... as soon as Danielle failed to pick Terry - whom a.) she'd made a pact with, b.) had already invoked the car curse, c.) had won the majority of challenges and hence d.) had been the nemesis of the majority of the jury - I almost didn't even bother watching anymore. DANIELLE COULDN'T EVEN SPELL TERRY OR ARAS' NAME RIGHT!!! ARAS COULDN'T EVEN WALK ACROSS A BEACH WITHOUT NEEDING STITCHES!!! Terry and Cirie in the finals would've been the greatest ever. At least they both got a gas-guzzling SUV they'll have to pay out the nose for if they want to drive more than a block. (But Shane's monologue at the last tribal council was worth the whole two hours and fifteen minutes, minus commercials; thank you, TiVo!)

I stopped liking Terry when he let Dan the Astronaut quit. He'd previously made a pact with Dan and then completely disregarded it. Terry fucking kicked ass in all the challenges up til the end but where he sucked was in his strategizing. Not once did one of his plans ever come to fruition. I mean the fucking nerve of the guy when right after the merge he smugly told the casaya members that if they wanted a 2 week vacation they should vote for him. Cerie fucking laughed at the guy. If Terry could have put his ego aside he probably would have been able to flip one of the casaya members.
