I had a headache before watching it and now it's 10X worse. My flatmate just texted me and said that Crispen Glover just walked past her. Here in Prague. No shit. Anyone know if he's here for a film reason? Is he in the new Bond film? I'm not lying. I swear. Maybe he's doing a private showing of his film "What Is It?" but I haven't heard anything about a sneak preview. If you haven't seen the trailer for it, look it up. It's what you'd expect from Crispen.

Oh no. This franchise has turned into that weird thing they used to do in the 80's, where they would make a sequel to Teenwolf or Splash and had a lesser known actor returning as a cousin or cellmate, or something of the original lead, and called them Teenwolf Too or Mannequin Too... That's what this should have been called-The Fast and the Furious Too starring Keith Coogan from Adventures in Babysitting and as the heavy, Brian Bloom from Dance 'till Dawn. Also this is the movie that should invent a new system for studios. Instead of straight to video or straight to DVD, straight to the Internet. To quote Paul Walker "I can totally get that vibe from this smelly thing, bro". And with that, the rest is silence.

long, painful story, but the movie was pretty enjoyable. But 2fast 2 furious was just lame. Sure, cheeseball fun, but lame. Worst thing is my friends brother (my friend by proxy) loves these movies, and eveytime one comes out he goes all crazy and buys decals and glow and stuff for his car. Funniest thing that ever happened to him was when he put the under-glow stuff on the bottom of his car, and broke it into smithereens going over a particualary high speed bump because he put it on wrong. Yeah but anyway, this movie will most likely suck, but I'll rent it, if only for the asian girls.

by ZeroCorpse
Mar 22nd, 2006
02:08:55 PM
It was pretty dumb-looking. Paper-thin plot, lots of chase scenes, lots of crashes. It looked like a big screen trailer for some racing video game. Anybody who pays to see this is betraying the human race and all ideals of artistic value and good taste, and anybody who acts in one of these movies deserves a kick in the balls. At least the break-dancing movies of the 80s had some decent music. These car movies are all techno/house music. Yuck.

I'm going to watch Find Me Guilty just to see if he brings any of that personality tot he part or if he's one of those weirdoes who can only turn it on in interviews (like Arnold).

i live in NY and last month there was a live performance of POint Break on stage. they advised to the audience that they will get wet. here's the kicker: before the show, an audience member is selected to play Keanu's part. and the audience member reads his/her lines off of cue cards "to preserve the authenticity of Keanu's performance". true story. i'm not sure if the company that did it is still on tour. i think they're based in seattle.

It's like this. Lucas Black doesn't really like acting. It's all Hollywood can do to get Lucas out of his home in Speake, Alabama, to act in a film. Lucas would much rather be fishing. I figure Lucas took the job to pay for a new bass boat. And maybe he was interested in a trip to Japan.
Initial D anyone?
by LilOgre
Mar 22nd, 2006
06:43:40 PM
I saw this INITIAL D movie at the Imaginasian here in NYC and thought it was OK - and yes I know it was based on an anime book. But what I learned is that drift racing is the ANTI- fast and the furious. They purposely PICK SHITTY CARS to race because the parts are cheap and THEY CRASH ALL THE TIME. Also they like the damn cars light and modifiable since they are driving sideways for literally the whole race. This movie just looks like some jackass hollywood exec. was like, "Let's make the next FF3 in Tokyo - Japan is cool. Oh they have drift racing, well who cares. racing is racing as long as we can have hot cars and hot ass. what? the cars aren't hot. oh well, we'll just ignore the way they race. what? it's called drift racing? cool - real cool. could be a cool title."

He's a better actor that Vin Diesel or Paul Walker, that's for sure. Maybe he misunderstood, and thought the film was only going to be showen in Japan, like those dodgy Cigar/Whisky/Credit card ads, that Hollywood actors think we don't see.

This reminds me of when Karate Kid had to go to Japan. When in doubt of your sequel, go to Japan. drifting kicks ass! It's all about the drift ya'll. I drive home drifting all the way, woohoo! I'm so happy they finally made a movie about drifting! That's what America needs. drift! my dream has come true.

I know the Ridge Racer games are all about the drifting. It's basically a way to cheat during a race. As you make a turn, especially a sharp turn. You turn the car ahead of the turn. the wheels get locked and you let the car slide on an angle until you reach the turn. This allows you to easily make sharp turns without losing an velocity. The Ridge Racer games revolve around this concept. Some people love it, some people hate it. I never thought they'd make a movie about it. Let alone with mega superstar Bowwow, haha

By now, Christian Slater is a futuristic secret agent who must infiltrate the crazy, misunderstood world of UNDERWATER RACING! He faces off against Steve Norrington (playing "X81337") a totally hardcore yet misjudged rebel who races because "for that one quarter league.... I'm free". There are many wacky adventures with rival underwater scuba gangs and surfers, plus a psycopathic half octopus mutant. I don't want to spoil the ending for you, but there's some kind of race... with submarines.

I mean, come on...doesn't this entail a TV series? Same plot lines over and over. Two guys, one white, one black. One a cop, the other, a criminal with a good heart, who maybe a cop. Racing in the beginning, flashy cars, skimpy clad chicks, lots of skin teasing. Then bad guys do bad things, but bad guys are in the racing ring...Black and white guy find bad guys and catch them using flashy, nitroed, tripped up cars. OH WAIT, THEY MADE FASTLANE!

From an online interview... PAUL WALKER ON THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS 3 GOING ON WITH BOW WOW AND LUCAS BLACK: "I think that's good. I was bummed. I wanted to make another one, but my dream scenario was it was going to be Vin, Tyrese and I, and I spoke it over with the powers that be. They're like, 'Oh, f***, we can't afford that.' And I said, 'Well, look. I just want to finish it,' because it's been my life for so long and everywhere I go people are always asking me, 'Hey, when are you going to make another one?' El Salvador for instance. I mean, places you'd never suspect. Red carpets rolled out for me, man. You know, I'm in the line-up. I'm in town. It feels really good. It breaks a lot of barriers for me. And, you know, I remember after doing the first one, people were like, 'Oh yeah, would you make a sequel?' And I was like, 'Absolutely, no.' And then I made a sequel. After the sequel, they're like, 'Would you make another one?' I'm like, 'No.' And then, you live it, and, yeah, it's been my life for the last five years. So, I was really disappointed when it didn't work out, but I really like Lucas Black. I thought he was awesome in Friday Night Lights. And I really think this third one could be the best one. The only thing that pisses me off is before we did the sequel, I told them that we should shoot it in Japan, and it should be about drifting. They looked at me like I was insane. Nobody had heard about it in the US. Well guess what? Three years later that's exactly what it is. It's in Japan, and it's all on Japan." YOU SHOULD GET A CUT. "I should. I said something to Neal about it and he laughed. And I was like, 'Or maybe I should just sue Universal.' Only problem is, I wouldn't be working there again."

Ripp-off of Initial-D
by Stone316
Mar 23rd, 2006
10:25:10 AM
Im not even going to see this crap on dvd, its another popkorn movie made to capitalize on an already dead franchise... And now they are using drift as the racing fashion...thats bullshit. Initial-D, although it has some flaws, is by far superior and doesnt relie on crappy cgi fx. Damn i miss the old fashioned street car races, like in Bullit or the French Connection or the original Gone in 60 Seconds. Hollywood has gone plastic and that's just sad. And to top it all, we have a kansas farm boy prototype and a wannabe rap star (that still hasnt lost all his zits) as the main characters??? Can any1 say Xerox Fotocopies?? At least put a japanese main character in the movie, even the girl isnt japonese. This is going to be really crappy. later dudes...

this isn't a ripoff of initial D
by DAS JANKE
Mar 23rd, 2006
09:09:03 PM
stop saying that. Initial D, the book and cartoon series, is much, much, much, better than anything these idiots can come up with. There's no way that this could be a ripoff... simply because it's set in Tokyo (which Initial D is not) and they drift? c'mon. think before you post. Initial D was always about the characters and the growth of Takumi into a man. This is just some dude that has to go live in Japan cuz he keeps getting in trouble at home. and the Initial D live action movie was awful. all this is is capitalizing on a "sport" that was cool about 3 years ago and has since given way to actual motorsports like road racing.

Not a ripp-off of Initial-D...U're kidding right?
by Stone316
Mar 24th, 2006
06:12:47 AM
Im sorry... but did u actually saw Initial-D??? The series and the movie? Or were u too busy having a lobotomy? Do u even drive? Fast and the Furious created a trend, which was tuning, bunch of idiots in cool cars going on a straight line and trying to blow themselves along the way. Initial-D was about the driver, not the car, about the skills that one has to have in order to drift and dritf well. Now i know that a few years back, drift became this kind of sport and has dies since then, but let me tell u... real drift is done in the streets, much like Initial-D and in Japan and China they dont take it as a sport but as a way of life. U said that the film was crap? Well, i say that at least they had real drivers in real cars instead of putting Vin Diesel's bald head and Paul Walker's annoying expressions in a room full of blue screen. And what is this about u saying that this is just a country boy going to Japan? Dude, a country boy in Japan whould be butt-fucked six ways from sunday! But of course, Hollywood film, Hollywood rules. U gotta have a bonafide american hero (kick the Hulk Hogan musak) and his sidekick. The truth is Hollywood is trying to shove F&F one last time down our throats and the only thing they have is drifting (which is the thing that they should have started with on the first film). And since Hollywood hasnt had an original idea in years and because they couldnt get the rights to do a Initial-D Remake, they decide to do this crap instead. Believe me, its a ripp-off and a bad onde at that. Later dudes...

well, ok, it's a movie, so it isn't necessary to begin with. I wonder if he's rejected by everyone and we'll get a scene of the girl saying 'leave him alone' along with her dude telling her 'why do you like him? he's not one of us!' and to the white boy 'stay away from her!'... this movie practically writes itself... and not in a good way

Ok after having been in Tokyo for about 2 weeks and recognizing alot of the locals they shot I can tell you that a lot of the car chase scenes were not shot in Tokyo. Its a city of 26.4 million people and a lot of streets don't have the room for that kind of driving. The ones that do closing them off for a film would be a fucking disaster. Also I don't think I've scene one supped up car at all. To put it simply Drifting doesn't happen in Tokyo it happens outside in the mountains this movie is fucking gay. Japan is a police state and doing shit like that is only gonna get you put in Jail fucking lame.
