ComfortGirl, didn't you try to promote this same idea on a talkback last week? You may be in the wrong forum to try to start a revolution.

...permanently written off of the show? As if having him on the show for two years wasn't bad enough for us to endure. On the bright side, it is nice to see Rory getting screwed over by a guy (Logan) for once instead of her abusing the guys like she's done to Dean (twice now) and Marty (aka Naked Guy). Maybe they could play it up and have it turn out that Logan gave Rory herpes or something.

...doesn't mean they aren't busy writing, filming, and editing them. I doubt that they complete an entire episode in a single week. 30min long sitcoms sometimes do that, but I'm pretty sure it takes longer for hour long shows like this one.

and like it or not, jess and rory are perfect for each other and its pretty clear that Amy is set to have them end up together in the end- why else would she keep on throwing him back into the show?
What is this show's obsession with lame dudes?

Jess is the lamest ever - whiny brat. We can't get rid of him. He's like herpes (not that I'd know, of course). Dean: whiny and lame (but at least nice); Logan: cocky and lame (but at least entertaining); Christopher: booooring... and lame; They've turned Luke lame for plot exigencies; Marty's the only dude you can possibly root for and they've written him out. Jess has no redeeming qualities. What's up with his lopsided way of talking? It's like half his face crawls up to his ear. Did he have a stroke? Is he trying to look tough? He's frigging 3 feet tall! You're NOT TOUGH - YOU'RE A WHINY TINY BEYOTCH!

Jess and Rory are not remotely perfect for each other.

Rory is go happy go lucky, go gettum' A-type personality, world at her feet, delightful winner; while Jess is a never gonna grow up, chip on his shoulder, self-pitying, woe is me the world is out to keep me down, suck to fun and life out of anyone who comes near me, annoying freak loser. Though, with the way Rory's been treating and discarding guys the past several seasons it would be poetic justice for her to end up with Jess and have him totally wreck her life and self-esteem. No doubt that Amy finds Jess dreamy, which is why the character keeps coming back more times than Rasputin, but to my knowledge every time she has been directly asked in interviews about who Rory will eventually end up with at the series' end Amy has said that she doesn't want Rory to end up with any guy at all. The intent is for Rory to be finished with college, free of any romantic entanglements, and heading out into the world alone to start her first real journalist job.

The guys are lame because they are supposed to be. Believe it or not, there is a sizable portion of women out in America who's fantasy men are good looking, financially secure, doormats who exist only for women to walk all over them. Seriously, in real life, no self-respecting guy would give any woman on this show the time of day, let alone be seen in public with them. But since it's only a harmless show and their collective neurosis are slightly amusing, we watch and chuckle.

IN REAL-LIFE PEOPLE FUCKING COMMUNICATE WITH ONE ANOTHER! Jesus H. FRAGGIN CHRIST, this whole show features some of the chattiest women on earth, that SHUT-UP when they should say something. Thank god Logan has been written to be the exact opposite of this. He actually confronts Rory, and RESPONDS BACK TO HER ACCUSATIONS! Unlike Jess and Dean, who made faces, and walked off in a huff. Oh yeah, just so you can know some SPOILER JONES that some folks shared at another place; Logan had the LONDON storyline put into place as an exit strategy for the character in case Matt Czuchry did not resign. Which POSSIBLY would have led to a season finale where Rory had to choose between Jess or Logan. This will not happen now, because of the events of episode 18 airing in April.

On the Valentine's Day ep, Lorelai (IIRC) makes a reference to Betty Friedan's passing. The episode AIRED ten days after Friedan's death. What kind of rapid-fire write/shoot/edit/air timeline is this show on? I figured an hourlong like this gets more of a buffer.

Just that they were crazy vapid bimbos any self-respecting guy would flee from. There's an entire world of difference between respecting the girls in a take 'um home to meet mom sort of way and a I'd shack up with them for a night way. And remember, I am talking about the characters on the show, not the real life actresses who play them.

Totally disagree. Do they make bad choices? yes Are they neurotic? sure (what woman isn't?) But they are certainly not bimbos. They're smart, sexy, witty, clever, interesting chicks that drop more pop-culture references than Dennis Miller. What guy doesn't love to hang with girls like that?

I hope this show isn't leading to he and Lorelai eventually hooking up. And Logan is such a loser! Okay--I teach high school, and many of the girls in my class watch GG (and a couple guys, too, believe it or not) and all the girls say this: "Logan is hot, but he's such a loser." Several have stopped watching the show altogether. They need to ditch this character. Also...Lane would not have forgiven Zach for screwing up the band quite that quickly. Argh. I used to love this show.

I'm glad that Rory finally woke up to the fact that Logan is a complete asshat, but it'll be entirely lame if she gets back together with Jess. The Luke/Lorelai interaction has completely broken down. The writers are straining the bounds of credulity with their utter lack of communication.
Wake up, Lane!

Agreed, Lane saying 'yes' was a completely idiotic development. I did like the bat mitzvah scene though. Nothing gets Gil down.

You know which one I mean. So how dumb can a silver-spoon Yale student be? She gets pissed off at her spoiled BF, who then dumps her thru his sister, while he goes off and has some fun with some of his sister's slutty friends. The two get back together, and she gets ultra-pissed and righteous about his flings while they were apart, while conveniently forgetting the she had an affair with her ex and broke up his marriage. You know who I mean. Does that make sense? Sebastian Bach was great in his scene, though.

When Rory confronted Logan about the bridesmaids was I the only one that could hear the echos of Ross yelling at Rachel "But we were on a break!"? Once again, I have to side with the dude on this Gilmore relationship. I'm glad they didn't go with the whole Doyle-Rory drunken one night stand thing. That would have been creapy. I'm worried which way they will go with the Zach and Lane. If they continue to portray Zach as an idiot, then the only reason they are getting married is because Zach wants to get the band back together. I hope they write it so he means it. I can't wait for Ms. Kim's reaction to the news. Also, is it just me, or is anyone happy to see an episode with Star's Hollow people back? That's what makes this show funny is the quirky secondary characters, and not the constant drama.---Switching gears, did anyone watch Scrubs last night? They refered to JD's Dr. Acula script again, and totally ripped on Grey's Anatomy. I am so gay.
At least the band's back together.

but I don't love it. I would like to love it and I'm trying to like it more than I do but I can't. Other than some of the forced dialogue in the script, most of the women on this show seem to be excruciatingly annoying. Sookie, Lane, Lane's mom, Paris are the worst and should be killed off. Most of the time Lorelai, sometimes Rory are annoying too. Out of the female regulars, Emily Gilmore is least annoying. The guys aren't nearly as bad as the women but the guy who plays Paris' boyfriend and Kirk need to get shown the exit door.
Ok, calling them bimbos was a wee bit strong.

However, Rory and Lorelai do have a penchant for bouncing back and forth from guy to guy to guy without a second's thought. Let's take Rory, for example - first it's Dean, no it's Jess, then it's Dean again despite that he's married, then it's flirt with Naked guy, then it's Logan, then Jess comes back, no wait it's Logan again, now it's apparently going to be Jess again and Logan will probably come back at some point, too. Yikes! Do we need to even mention Lorelai - Max, Chris, Max, Chris, Digger, Luke, Chris-sort of, Luke, who knows what is next. Only doormats or seriously whipped guys put up with that in real life.

Particularly re: relationships. I know about 30 girls like this. I think it's very realistic. Chicks are N.V.T.S. - nuts... but I love them. Disfunctional people are interesting. How boring would a show be in which Rory has a steady, loving boyfriend, and Lorelai has a problem-free marriage with Luke? Romance comes not from perfect relationships but from obstacles. As soon as Lor and Ror resolve their issues the show is kind of over. It's like that w/ any series. Look at Smallville. How long have they been keeping Clark and Lana apart? Look at Cheers. As soon as Sam and Diane got together, they had to break them up. It's T.V. 101. It kind of puts writers in a difficult position. It must be tough to create romantic chemistry without being able to resolve it. It's always tease, tease, tease; You
