A mental image of Tarantino's character in From Dusk 'till Dawn in the RV with this story? Perhaps she found his enormous forehead and compact face erotic without his millions and worldwide fame?

all directors should be required to 'study' their film's subject matter in such a meticulous manner. Ang could spend a few weeks on a dude ranch with the Marlboro Man, George could fling himself into a volcano, and Robert could transport himself back in time with a garbage disposal and 1.21 jigowatts of pure Dolorean goodness.
I gotta repeat it again . . .

...Goatboy, you're hired. From now on, every QT talkback, you need to pop in and do a post just like that. We'll call it Goatboy's QT Cam. Patent pending. Stick with me and we'll be rich! Secondly, does anyone REALLY think this is the first time QT has gone out to scout female talent in foreign lands for imaginary film projects. I know, I know...this is only demi-imaginary, because he is making a trailer for a film he'll never actually make, but that really only requires a little more effort than he usually expends talking about all the films he's never going to make. In other news, Harry has been cruising chat rooms again, telling 14-year-old girls he's a big movie producer. Which isn't technically a lie. At least not a lie like the Federal Agent is telling when he claims to be a 14-year-old girl.

His films or at least all his early films havent aged at all well and the one that comes to mind is Pulp Fiction. That film looks so old now and has been copied so often, not very well in most cases. I thought Kill Bill 1 and 2 were two of the most over hyped films that I have ever, Kill 1 had some flashes of the old quentin tarantino, but there was something wrong and think it was that he was fed up with people coming up to him in the street quoting his lines back to him, that he made two films that had none of the recognisable QT Snappy dialoug. I have heard that apart from working on whatever that film he is making with Robert Rodrigues is called he is re-editing KIll-Bill into one film, maybe if he had made one film to start of with many people wouldnt have been disappointed. Speaking about films from QT and RR. I saw From dusk till dawn and that one goes straight into the QT dated file. I think QT best film will remain Jacky Brown. That film was so cool and the way he pulled all the stories together in the end was just awesome. I tried looking True Romance and I couldnt make head nor tale of it. But it is a tony scott film, loud, empty and vaccous.
Good God, what do you expect?

If I were in Tarantino's position, I'd be making movies as a thinly-veiled excuse to go to Sweden and have fun with girls named Olga and Helga and Heidi...and, yes, I'd be snorting coke from out of their butt-cheeks within twenty-eight minutes of meeting them. In fact I'd go one go one step further and say that I'm shooting a 70's style p0rn movie to be featured in the movie (it plays in the background for two seconds as Michael Madsen disinterestedly eats his Cheerios), and I need to try out some girls... Fuck me, Tarantino knows how to flaunt his power and strong chin; forget these dry old farts like Ridley Scott and Altman, they'll die without ever having supped from the luscious nectar of hedonism. Tarantino's moved up in my book.

...I look at True Romance as perhaps the best kind of Tarantino movie. The kind where he doesn't direct and focuses on what he does best...which is write kick-ass characters and dialogue. Crimson Tide's another goodie with his name hidden in the credits. I agree with whomever asserted above that Pulp doesn't necessarily hold up to its own hype over time. It's still a fun movie but, given my choice, I'd watch Reservoir Dogs before Pulp every time. And that mostly because Dogs feels like a purer film (all about character and story) while Pulp seems to get mired in its own efforts to be cool (not saying it doesn't succeed, but the fact that it's so obviously trying knocks some points off). The last few times I put Pulp in, I wound up forwarding through the Travolta/Uma segment entirely and only slowed down the Gold Watch for Walken's monologue and the scene where Travolta gets cakked on his way out of the crapper. Sam L. had the best scenes in that movie. Jackie Brown is hard for me to get through nowadays, as well. I liked it the first time, but it really needed some hard-handed editing from someone who wasn't QT. And I'll only put From Dusk 'til Dawn in after a late night of drinking when I want to see a "what the fuck" expression on the face of somebody who trusts my drunken movie recommendation. I'm just incapable of appreciating it on any level at any other time. I'm pretending Kill Bill(s) never existed because they (it) make me so angry when I think about it (them).
Damn my pride!

has not aged well, and no one has argued the other side, yet. That almost proves that the movie hasn't aged well, given that I seem to remember a few years ago that QT fanatics would shout down any criticism of QT.
Uh, didn't Uwe Boll do something similar?

Sorry that I'm not a crazy fanatic fanboy, but I would definately put Pulp Fiction in my top 5 all favourite films. I don't however feel the need to squelch others opinions. I will say that I love it more every time; as for aging, I think it's a movie very much in it's time; I feel about it time wise the same way I feel about Scarface. I still dig Scarface, I still love Pulp Fiction. As for too many movies "ripping it off" and that making PF lesser of a film because of it... well I just never got this argument. Just because a bunch of things come after it trying to steal the thunder and fail doesn't lessen the quality. It's one of the originals; it's one of the best.

He did the exact same thing in the long intermission between Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown. I remember reading an interview with him in the British edition of Premiere where he said that he would pick up "some stockholm babe" who had no idea who he was, take her out to the airport and show her the pictures of himself in the foreign magazines, and she would then jump in the sack with him. After spending the eighties as a video store clerk, I'd say he's earned it.

Strip club scene in Jackie Brown
by Henry Jones Jr.
Feb 14th, 2006
01:28:09 PM
This sounds like QT (God bless him.) If you watch the extras on the Jackie Brown DVD there are some shots of Mr. Jackson at a strip club (that is where he told DeNiro he would be while bobby picked up the $$) Alls they show of the stripers are her legs. But you KNOW QT probably spent 5 days shoting that scene. I know I would. "OK, so I gotta get a close up of your nipples. Alright?"

We're always fond of seeing people of the Swedish persuasion showing up here at the Motel Styx, especially if they happen to be female and/or resemble the one that was in Casablanca. No not Bogart the taller one. Ms Bergman. My brother Earl is dead set 100% sure that the female half of Abba once spent a weekend here, but as he has conveniently lied about just when and for What reasons Anna and Frida would have ventured this way, most folks and that includes I have to add think that Earl's full of it on this one........Anyways. This is about Tarentino venturing up to the land of blonde beauties. I think that would be a good movie as long as he remembers to include that Uma chick again.
