And I'd second GITS. Anyway... Advent Children pushed back AGAIN???!!! This is too much! Also Samurai 7 started out great but ends up being so-so... but anyway I've never seen the original movie... And now, when does Howl's Moving Castle release here anyway?
and what are...

The Mononoke dub was written by Neil Gaiman of Sandman fame. Hella cool. And Totoro - one of my favourite films ever, and the voice acting in the first english release wasn't so great that a second go with improved standards is a bad idea. If they do it right.
Fuccons is bloody weird...

I saw that clip they had floating around online. I'm not even sure if I found it funny or not! And about frigging time on that Totoro disc. Been waiting forever on that one...
Witch hunter Robin is neither nay nor yay...

I saw it in the theater and the animation was mindblowing. Cool, destructive action. Plot was tight. Dialogue at times was off but it wasn't enough to derail the movie. Certainly better than those overated Ghost in the Shells. Why the beef?
I second Appleseed as being good...

Not mind blowingly good, but entertaining. I'm not too much a fan of the cell shaded look. I'd much prefer the CG/traditional blend of animation in Ghost in the Shell, which I'd argue was great...
niether the animation or the story blew me away...

At least the action ones sometimes end on some power pop song, which I find entertaing. The fashion are bizzare with multicolored hair and stuff. Even their pop music has a synthy upbeat tone (though I think it sucks compared to alt. 80's stuff or anything else for that matter). Their anime maintains an etherealness like movie like Legend. Probably a silly question, but I'm curious if that's true? If so, any articles you can link to, perchance? 'Cause I think the 80s are the shiznit and if Japan's stuck in it, I gots no problem with that! Also how did Transformers the Movie do over in Japan because I think over here it set back action animation films back, with the death of Optimus (though it had it's moments). Had he not died that movie flick would have been a blockbuster, no doubt (or not). Inquiring minds wanna know. PS: I do prefer traditional animation to cel or computer stuff as well (Especially Madhouse!). But I find Ghost in the Shell a 'lil overhyped, but hey everyone's got their opinion. No biggie.
Agree about the Fuccons. Watched with amusement at its bizarrene

I caught 3 eps on some anime-on-demand channel and kept hoping it would up the freakiness level, but its kinda just half a joke. Seems like they were all written and made in under an hour. Thank god they're all only 3 minutes long.
