c'mon... we should be happy to take what we can get. Fact is, even though Doom was terrible... and this could be... you need to pump your money towards this stuff rather than the filth that the squares see. Look what is out.... what are you gonna see? Me... the original house of wax, or maybe Night of the Living Dead... but that is beside the point.... and I think I am just bored.... but I think I am second.

so I will see this one. I liked the first one even with the flaws that it had. I thought it was just a fun movie to watch. I don't really care for horror movies and the first Saw was the first horror movie I paid to see in theaters. I am wondering if the second one does well if they will do a yearly release out of future sequals.

the first movie was ok....I can see why people who like to think about what they are watching hated it...but it was still solid escapist fare for those who like that sort of thing....2 can only be an improvement...I'm hoping for better performances this time around...and a plot with less overtly obvious holes

If you love it without being able understand why others would find some aspects stupid then you obviously spend very little time thinking about the films that you watch....If you write the whole thing off as crap then your a bit too pretentious to realize that movies don't always have to correspond with real life...which is why we watch them anyway...I'll agree with any one giving a mixed review....there were parts in the original that worked, but it lacked a certain intelligence that was needed to make it a solid film....lets hope that the sequel is a bit better, so maybe more people will come to like it

In the next Batman movie, they would be wise to pay attention to the kind of psychotic toying with people we see in SAW, because this (and Se7en) have the whole Joker mentality down, minus the clown-themed twists and trademark maniacal laughter from the Clown Prince of Crime. If the next Batman movie gives me THIS kind of Joker, I will have more respect for the filmmakers than I could measure in mere box office dollars.

Honestly, this really has to be better than the first one, which was more unintentionally funny than a horror movie. The entire theater erupted in laughter when Carrie Elwes extremely overacted the final 20 minutes or so. Definitely worth checking out in a few months when the torrent hits, but not something I'll fall over myself to see. Also, for those bashing Danny Glover in the first one, it was pretty obvious to me that he had been living in a refrigerator box under a bridge for a while before they grabbed him to do the movie (or at least thats how he looked to me).
Put me in the ZeroCorpse camp on this one.

If they made The Joker out to be this sort of villain, then a Batman film would finally do him justice. And I don't mean excessive gore. Everyone knows that Batman is PG-13 but the same level of depravity with the gore implied would make a kick ass film. The Joker would be more hands on of course and would have to be there to enjoy his victims' deaths but the general vibe would be the same. Then again, I think "Arkham Asylum" would make a kick ass Batman film even though I know it wouldn't make a dime, so what do I know.

The review doesn't give away the ending, which characters live or die, etc. It gives a pretty general synopsis of the plot, 95% of which is readily apparent if you've seen the trailer. There is some info in the review (i.e. the cancer thing, or the fact that the son is in the house) that I can understand some people would consider a spoiler, but I think if you have read any review on this site (and most others) you realize that it will disclose some facts about the movie. Some people who refuse to watch trailers, etc and who want to be completely unspoiled (apparently those like yourself) may be annoyed by the review, but I thought it was much more restrained in giving away info than a lot of others I've read on here. Maybe you know more about the movie than you wanted to, but I'd hardly say that the movie is completely spoiled based on that review.

Saw 3: Back in the Habit. Or Saw 3: A New Saw. Army of Teeth. Saw 3: Saw in Translation. Sawed Off. The Last Sawmurai. The Usual Sawspects. Saw Away. Me, Myself, and Saw. There's Sawmthing About Jigsaw... Anyhoo. Hell yeah, if the Joker was that sadistic, it'd be amazing. Of course, he'd have to be much more involved, than just fucking with them from a distance. As for Saw, I thought it was garbage, just a horribly done movie... but it DID have a good story and potential. Hopefully Saw II will fulfill that potential. There's nothing wrong with the tagline either, if you hear it in the context of the creepy voice, but ok, without that, it is bad.

While I enjoyed both Saw and Saw II, both film ultimately lacked what I feel is an often overlooked element that exists in all the great horror films: a powerful force for good. The Exorcist, The Shining, and even to a lesser extent Texas Chainsaw Massacre, all had protagonists who, through sacrifice, were able to stave off evil. After all, in a sense, the evil is the

Mark Hamill's Joker still the best
by phelion2
Oct 24th, 2005
07:53:05 AM
mark hamill's voice work as The Joker has been the best interpretation of the character for the screen, the height for me being Mask of the Phantasm. Mask of the Phantasm got actual theatrical release, which luckily I caught and enjoyed tremdously. MotP is still the only batman film I have bought, on LASER DISC no less, it is still far superior to the current quality of DVD. I felt it the the most adult flavor of all the on screen Batman works (the reveal of Abe Vigoda's character Sal Valestra post-mortem is choice!) Kevin Conroy's gravelly "Jjjjjo-KERRR" just before he knocks out one of his teeth just makes you cream your under-roo's. I think MotP is also the first animated feature to be done entirely on black paper (1992) was still pre-full blown CGI invasion). Anyhow, I have no real interest in either SAW or SAW II, but love any chance to say how awesome mark hamill's Joker is and how much Tim Burton sucks when he tries to play in someone else's sandbox. He started the road that took us to shumacher's "Batman and Robin" and I hope he never get let near another comic book piece again.

It may never be as great as my script for the movie version of "Burger Time" starring Christopher Walken as Mr. Egg, Steve Buscemi as Mr. Hot Dog, Abe Vigoda as Mr. Pickle, and Drew Carey as Peter Pepper, but it would be good. (A sample, to be spoken in Walkenese by Mr. Egg: "This is Mr. Hot Dog. This. . . Is Mr. Pickle. I'm Mr. Egg. You do not want to cross us Peter Pepper... It would be a mistake!"). It plays out kind of like "Goodfellas" but with giant hamburgers.
