Pretty fine time to release a new improved Cowboy Bebop, right after I've bought all the original DVDs too you assholes... if you want to make it up to me you'll release a nice box for me to put them in.

Well I'd recommed Macross Plus... but if it's series you're interested in... have you checked out Paranoia Agent...? Wait... maybe that's not in the same genre... hmmmm... maybe s-CRY-Ed... or ah... you didn't feel Last Exile was good huh... Perhaps you might like the X TV series, or the Read or Die TV series was also okay. I'd also definately recommed Ghost in the Shell: StandAlone Complex.
Read or Die TV series?! hahaha

thats more in the Naruto generic anime that will be forgotten 2 or 3 years from now. Last Exile was ok. i should probably watch more than just up to Episode 9. but it had nothing standout about it. Cowboy Bebop hooks you in from the first episode, like Samurai Champloo and Full Metal Alchemist. they are just so original, fresh and creative. i'd love to watch anime on that kinda level. i hear the GITS Stand Alone Complex series is good, but the two GITS movies were annoying to me, especially the second one. beautifully done, retarded plot. Macross Plus is a flying anime right? i guess i'll check for that.

If you're looking for anime for animation, check out last years big two movies, Mind Game and The Place Promised in our Earlier Days. Mind Games is unbelievable, not licensed domestically but you can find imports with English subtitles. Place Promised is available through ADV, be warned, its a little slow by design. The creator's earlier work Voices of a Distant Star is definately worth a look too. For entertaiment, Samurai 7 looks good. Elfen Lied and Gantz both warrent their popularity. if you like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, Wolf's Rain has it disapointing bits, but its definately worth a look. Macross Plus is definately a classic. If you like that the new Area 88 is worth a look, especially if you're an aviation fan. On Naruto, the signal to noise ratio gets a bit attrocious, but there are definately some great pieces. You have to sit through a lot to get to the good stuff, but the good stuff is very good.
Gunslinger Girl is one of the better animes I've seen recent

I'm not a fan of manga, but Monster really grabbed my attention the moment i read the first volume. The story is very intense, smart with deep characterizations. I also like the arts very much. I would highly recommended this to anyone. I hope New Line do the adaptation justice.
Yeah Last Exile is rather slow at the start.

But if you keep watching it does get pretty good. Technically if you're expecting something the level of Cowboy Bebop, or FMA then there's hardly much, I can only recommed things that would come rather close. Checked out 'The Place Promised in our Early Days' and bought the DVD, man that was hard to find! You'd like to know that the director of Bebop and Champloo did Macross Plus, which is a 4 episode OAV split in 2 DVDs each ep is about 45 mins or something. Based on the Macross Franchise, which is like Gundam, but you don't need to be familiar with the universe to enjoy it. Also if you're up for something wacky, hyper and just plain fun, check out FLCL.
