can anyone recommend brilliant (as in, non-mediocre) anime for me to watch? of all the anime i've watched, i've gotta say that Full Metal Alchemist, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop and Rurouni Kenshin were all brilliant. These stick to mind. i tried watching Bleach but it was too lame. Naruto i didn't bother with. Last Exile was decent but not really engaging. am i missing something else?

Neon Genesis Evangelion, The Ghost in the Shell movies and series, ANY Ghibli/Miyazaki films, Wings of Honneamise (sp?) and whenever Funimation releases Kodocha, get it.
I'd have preferred if they made the new blackjack film like

Saw the OVA and comparatively the more serious, more real charaacter designs etc was much much better. And Sir Biatch if I were to name some interesting series, check out RahXephon, also for something a little slow and a little weird, there's Texhnolyze, though that's either going to be a hit or miss with you depending on how you find the first few episodes ability to grab your interest. For something more comical, but a classic, there's Trigun. And of course I'd highly recommend the Ghost in the Shell StandAlone Complex series and its second season 2ng GIG. There is also the femme fatale series Noir, Neon Genesis Evangelion is highly recommended of course, and perhaps you might also like the X TV series. And if you're one to enjoy a light hearted character driven series, there's haibane Renmei, and for something fun, dark and violent, there's Hellsing.

I love that series. So far I've only read the first 3 trades but will definetly be picking up the rest. Why is darkhorse re-releasing them?Arent they all currently available?Or are they going to have new covers or something? And to Sirbiatch I highly recommend anything by director Satoshi Kon.The guy makes some really good thought provoking stuff...peace

Dark Horse isn't printing a new editing, they're printing a new run of the existing volumes. So, if you've had a hard time finding them, the can be re-ordered again.
thanks for the info scott
