Maybe he's just doing a cameo (like Hank McCoy did). Or maybe he's just in a pre-title sequence. Or a tv news clip about dangerous mutants. Is he actually gonna be related to Xavier? Or is he just gonna be a henchman for Magneto (like Sabretooth)?

He cant be as huge as in the comics. In a semi-realistic movie world I just cant see it working. At 10' tall and 600 or so lbs there's just no way for him to not be noticed by every single person who sees him. The Hulk can change into Banner, but Juggernaut...wherever he was, everyone would know about it.

Here's a cut and paste job... In another interesting development, he compares X3 to Unforgiven. No word on whether Gene Hackman gets it in the face in this one. As for the overall tone, apparently Vaughn felt that Bryan Singer treated the X-Men more simplistically and that he will expand on the themes. That I can agree on. I like Bryan, but it wasn't his individual vibe that made the films great. Devin also says that Vaughn promises 3-4 scenes where people are shocked and close to tears. ................. I dunno about you, but that sounds incredibly intriguing

Wish granted. Sort of. Marvel's making two feature-length, direct-to-video, animated movies based on "The Ultimates" comic book. It's pretty unadaptable as far as live-action goes for a lot of reasons that I don't feel like getting into, but if you're a fan of any of the Paul Dini/Bruce Timm "Batman" stuff, these flicks might be right up your alley. Supposedly they're trying to push the envelope in terms of what American animation is able to get away with in terms of tone, so we'll see.

http://www.superherohype.com/n ews/featuresnews.php?id=2889 It reassures me to actually hear from the guy. He seems competent and genuinely wants to make a good movie. I like the fact that he admitted he simply was interested in making the film after he heard singer had passed, rather than making up some bull about how it's been his dream all his life and he couldn't imagine himself doing anything else. All lot of people will be pissed off about his comments in regards to adapting the book, like the one about Dark Phoenix being a mess. I dunno, I think it's good to have a critical person running the show. Not someone who'll treat the books like some sort of infalliable comic bible.

hopefully they will have just a few villains, with just one or two "main" ones. as a fan of a comic, i hope they treat dark phoenix with the respect it deserves after not only setting it up so well in the last movie, but with it's importance in the comics. just look at any of the Xmen books today... they're still dealing with dark phoenix.

Talentless "Sportsman", Talentless Actor. It defies logic how this plank has ever achieved anything. Just because he held Gazza's balls once, he is suddenly a star? Crappy mid 90's, UK lad mags made this guy a hero based upon that single action/image. I hope Vaughan goes the whole hog and also re-casts Stanley Victor Collymore as Prof. X or some other, equally retarded shit. X3 is stacking the odds up against itself now. Bah.

If they do Juggy like Andy Serkis' Gollum.....
by Crytenboy
Apr 22nd, 2005
09:52:35 AM
..............then this could be rather cool. I google-imaged Vinnie Jones, just to get a rough idea once again of what he looks like, and if one was to take a look at him and imagine his features transfored ala Eric Bana in the Hulk movie, and his performance is done via CGI motion performance, then the guy could make a great Juggernaut. Obviously, ( or I hope not anyway), they will not use his official comics origin. If Marvel films is smart, they could use Juggy as a tie-in to the rest of the Marvel Universe movies by having his powers originate from a scientifically-induced physical enhancement ala Hulk; ie; a modification and refinement of David Banner's esperiment. .........don't forget, Ladies and Gentlemen, that the X Men movies are set in the near future. Imagine, if you will, that the events in the Hulk movie took place, say, ten years before the events of the X Men movies.... The U.S army has had ten years to study and re-create somewhat the "Hulk"process, but have refined it to the point that the subject retains his intellect and normal mental faculties....But have never had the need to put the process into serious action, untill, of course, the MUTANT THREAT ..Now to make it a bit more interesting, bring in the fact that as a child, Cain (to Prof Z's Abel.....hmm, an interesting concept right there), was an abused step-child, and his anger and resentment magnify and multiply at the same rate as his physical enhancement (of coure it's an unforseen side effect of the program:as everyone knows, in movie logic, whenever the army thinks it has created a super weapon or a super being, it of course always backfires) to a point where he becomes a hate-filled human with Hulk-like strength and regeneration abilities, that now has the power to take on mutants, (like his step-bro Charles), as well as the rest of "mankind", whom he feels has wronged him by paying sooooo much attention to his "freakshow" of a half=brother, Chuck.... Now he has the power to back up his "what the F@@ck are you gonna do?" attitude, of course, much to the dismay of the US army, who of course, in movie fashion, have no choice but to call in the X Men to stop him..........who better than "Phoenix" Jean Grey?.she stops him dead in his tracks, and easily calms hom down, and saves the day............all the while the psycic "link" she uses to stop him, links their minds, and the rage and resentment that she removes from him get transferred into her..........creating the basis for the TRUE Dark Phoenix...... I'm just shooting the shit here, but I think that this idea is pretty plausible...

Credit where credit's due. I think I also suggested Portia DiRossi as Emma Frost. C'mon, tell me she doesn't look EXACTLY like the cover of New X-Men 117. I like Vinne Jones as Jugegrnaut, because really ,how different is Juggernaut's character from Bullet-Tooth Tony? He's a large, angry, monotone bruiser. And for those of you whining about Juggernaut's size: It's only been since the mid-to-late 90's that Juggs has become a gigantic behemoth, mostly thanks to Rob Liefeld's complete inability to draw anything to realistic scale. Orginally he was just a very tall guy, about, you guessed it, 7' at max. Look at the classic issue when Colossus and Wolverine are in a bar and Juggs is being hit on by the Black Queen. He's a huge guy, but not a 12' tall freak.
Gotta second mortsleam's...
by Childe Roland

...thoughts on Juggy. Vinnie is perfect for the part in that Jugs isn't going to require a lot of acting for him. Just be a thug who thinks he's charming and, failing that, believes he can kick every ass in the room. And mort's right about the size thing, too. I always got the impression from the comics (pre 1995) that Jugs was slightly taller than Colossus (in armored mode) which would put him somewhere just north of seven feet. As for the magical powers, I'm sure they'll ditch that aspect and just make him a mutant with a fancy helmet like Magneto had in the first film. This bit of casting news doesn't have me nearly as worried as the sheer number of characters they appear to be trying to cram into the movie. Not sure how they'll handle that without making everyone very two-dimensional. But we'll see. Oh... and the Juggernaut ran into Ray Park the other day. Do you know what happened to the guy who played Toad when he was hit by an irresistable force? The same thing that happened to Fuck You.

But if you need proof that she isn't in fact built like a 10 year old boy, check out Sirens, a movie which also features Elle MacPherson walking around naked half the time. True, this was ten years ago, and Portia has since fallen under the spell of David E. "I like my leading ladies anorexic" Kelly, but there's no arguing that she looks just like Emma Frost, and that she tends to play the same kind of character as well. Personally, I hope that this movie won't even feature the Hellfire Club, and will merely show the X-Men dealing with Juggernaut and the Sentinels, while Cyclops spends some time in Alaska and runs into a woman who looks just like Jean. Then do the Dark Phoenix thing with the Hellfire Club in the fourth movie.

Why Vinnie didn't play Kingpin
by googamooga

Because the producers of Daredevil made the concious decision to use a black actor, to up the "cool" factor. MCD is badass, and I've liked him in everything he's done, but it PISSES me off when they make drastic changes to a character. I'm still not over Starbuck and Boomer's new vaginas.

TalkBack is probably dead, but here's a "fuck you" to all the Michael Clarke Duncan detractors out there. I don't understand how it's some unconscionable act to cast a black guy as Kingpin because he's not a "proper match," but it's perfectly fine, preferable even, to cast a Briton who doesn't even have the right build because he's white and he's "badass," only in a soccer hooligan way and not a scary black person way. "They" didn't get Michael Clarke Duncan to make 'Daredevil' "cooler with the kiddies" you fucking psychos, they did it because they believed (as I do) that overall, he was the best fit for the part. I'm astounded that anyone in their right mind thinks that Vinnie Jones would be a more faithful translation of the Kingpin. If you don't see how twisted that logic is, then you're not the ones who should be outraged.
