is it me or does 'State of Grace' kick complete and total ass. Gary Oldman is Jesus in that flick. And, I was shocked when I learned he directed 3 O'clock High too...two classics.

Thank God! What would life be like without SAW? I've been biting my nails for months, waiting to hear he and his genius partner get to make another horror movie. I'd rather see another Uwe Boll movie.

Warners has been announcing this thing year after year. Make it or don't, will ya? Antoine Fuqua bailed on it a coupla years ago. Looks like they've changed it --- the good guy's an "executive" instead of a tennis star? (There go Hitchcock's tennis set pieces.) In the book, the hero was an architect. What gives? The bad guy's a mad psychiatrist? Paging Hannibal Lecter. Killing a clinging mistress (instead of a pregnant wife) in exchange for killing a sister (not a father?) I'm not so much against this as waiting for Warners to get off the pot and make it. Or not. P.S. I never miss a Noam Murro movie.

So Nicholson, Quaid and Freeman are "in talks," huh? Modernly, "in talks" seems to be the studio signal that actors are indeed signing up and ready to go (it's so embarrassing when they don't.) Could this be the best Nicholson sequel since "The Two Jakes?" Or "The Evening Star"?

My GOD! Hollywood is so in the shitter! They're doing movies on Rock, Paper, Scissors?!! And a sequel to Big Momma?!! And how many horror movies ripoffs can you produce before you make us cringe at the sight of horror movies? How many Hollywood?!! I fucking quit. I'm pleading and begging screenwriters out there, to pen something with an ounce of originality! FOR THE SAKE OF THE CHILDREN!

"Iraqi Convoy" = "Sorcerer"/"Wages Of Fear" (even if it IS based on true story). "Big Momma's House 2" = "Mrs. Doubtfire". "The Breed" = "The Wolfen". "Rizzle Pizzle Sizzle" (I guarantee you THAT name will change) = "Dodgeball". "John Tucker Must Die" (to be changed to "John Tucker Must Pay") = "Killing Mrs. Tingle" (changed to "Teaching Mrs. Tingle").
Steve Alten's new book is "Loch" (as in "Loch Ness Monster")

The guy has absolutely no shame in his pursuit of a Hollywood buck. He gives 'high concept' a bad name. Now snakes on a plane, THAT'S a classy idea!

Yeah, couldn't be a coincidence with the premise for Shockwave/Shockwaves. I adore that movie, and actually wouldn't hate the idea of a remake, but I'd rather Hollywood do something ORIGINAL lately. It's one thing to take inspiration from various sources, but at least make it seem like you're trying something new. Cat Tale--my God, why? I'm glad Sean Astin is getting work, and I like Stanley Tucci, but the premise sounds like Shark Tale and Tucci is again playing the villainous jerk. Big surprise there. Fire your manager. Alan Rickman should be in EVERY movie. Blood and Chocolate--there's a movie whose greatest impact won't get past its sensationalist title. Shainberg's Secretary is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to FUR--I mean, + Kidman and Downey. 'Nuff said. And please please please...Kurosawa's Kairo is genius, I HATE YOU HOLLYWOOD. I thought they already remade it...it was called Fear Dot Com, and it failed miserably. Stop.
It's funny...

This column is always the absolute most depressing part of the site. Another BIG MOMMA'S HOUSE movie, another shark movie, more fucking remakes, and the sure-to-be-a-classic CAT TALE. I'd say I've lost faith in Hollywood, but who am I kidding? I never had any to begin with.
