I still haven't seen either Grudge movie. (US or Japan). I have them both sitting here. Which should I see first? (So as not to spoil/ruin the other). Thanks
The grudge...

Well, see the Japanese one first, it's creepier (specially the beginning, and the end, and the sound effects, and, of course, no Buffy in this one!!!!). But it comes from a guy who really didn't like the US Ring and adored the Japanese one (but I always watch the original first), so... But forget Ju-on 2: this one falls flat, except for one of the best horror scene of all times (the scene of the sound against the wall...) P.S.: Survive style 5+? I haven't seen it, but it must be interesting! Why? 'cause the coolest actor in the world is in it, stupid! Tadanobu Asano fuckin' rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the two made for video Juon's first before what I assume what you have is the Japanese cinema version. The Japanese cinema version (Juon: The Grudge) for all intents and purposes the sequel to these, known as Juon: The Curse 1 and 2. Use imdb.com to sort out what is what (Juon:The Curse 1 had Chiaki Kuriyama in it) and you can buy the curse video from ebay. Juon: The Curse 2 recycles about 40 minutes of Juon: The Curse 1 unfortunately. The US version of The Grudge uses a few of the scenes from The Curse Video, mainly the scenes involving Bill Pullman. and 5% new material! (But I thought it was OK, don't get me wrong).

My Ju-On/The Grudge forum: http://www.atticcrawlspace.com . Spider Forest is well worth watching--it's no Tale of Two Sisters, but it, too, is a beautifully-shot mindbender.

I liked Tale of Two Sisters, but I'd hardly call it a mind-bender. As beautiful and atmospheric as it was, it was also predictable as hell. It's the oldest plot twist in the book.
Thank you All

For the tip. I liked both Ringu and American Ring (watched them in that order), so I guess I'll go with Japanese first. P.S. Shan, thanks for the tips, as much as I love Kuriyama, I don't think i'm that into this story to seek out the two 'prequels'. P.P.S. Here is Chiaki Kuriyama nekkid: http://www.celebpicgalleries.c om/chiaki_kuriyama
