... minus the gratuitous decapitations. Which is a bad thing. Given the glut of talent coming out of South America (forgive the generalization) these days it seems worth a look. Off to Suspect Video!

PERDITA DURANGO? did i miss something? where was the comedy in a movie about drug-addled santeria maniacs who kidnap and rape teenagers and drink chicken blood? the man's other movies mix the macabre with humor, but perdita was just an abysmal, dark, dirty movie.

Is it just me or is the English section down? This irritates my balls worse than the crabs that have already infested them.
Fansite or Corporate Fakes?

Hi all Webmasters, Michael 'Xoanon' Regina here, I just wanted to drop you a line and I encourage all of you to post this email if you think this poses a potential problem for people in our 'business'. About one month ago Warner Bros. contacted me claiming they were really interested in my team developing a website for them very similar to what we are doing on KongisKing.net. A fan site with exclusive content from the production company and the director. We had a meeting with them and in good faith detailed the bread and butter of our operation. Working under the assumption that Warner Bros. would discuss this within their upper management and get back to me. They even had the nerve to remind me that anything we discussed would be 'off the record'. The sudden appearance of this supposed 'fan site' http://www.bluetights.net/bull etin_list.php is, needless to say, a real disheartening move on Warner Bros. part. They claim this site is run by fans, and carries exclusive contend from the production company and the directly..rather uncannily like KongisKing.net. It really calls into question the very ideals and trust we have worked hard to generate with production companies and the fans they supposedly hold dear to their hearts. It also begs the question, who is working for whom? When a production company creates a site 'by fans and for fans', is that not akin to the tail wagging the dog? We at The One Ring Inc. (the company created after the success of TheOneRing.net, KongisKing.net and TheOneLion.net) were willing and able to create a Superman site out of the sheer 'geeky' joy of the forthcoming film, however now they are left with a pale imitation of a fansite, devoid of the heart and soul that goes into making fansites what they are today. I really hope you guys publish this on your sites, and let the fans know what really goes on behind-the-web-scenes. ------------------------------ ---------------------------- Michael Regina Editor in Chief/Segment Producer PH: 514.947.5221 http://www.TheOneRing.net http://www.KongisKing.net http://www.TheOneLion.net ------------------------------ ----------------------------

And with such a presentation of the "filmmaker"... ouch. Yes, something to avoid even if it makes it to TV. Thank you for the warning.

This film would have been worth it even if the director hadn't been there, but with the bonus of his hilarious introduction and Q&A, it was double the value. Heck, I'd have paid just for the Q&A it was so hilarious. The film itself is a "John Hughes film on acid," as he somehow twistedly quoted. You can see the Kevin Smith plus classic American high school movie influences, yet somehow this clever director does more for it than we sad Amercians can manage. There are also some very nice over-the-top comic book effects sequences and the comic book transitions and storytelling are very well done, especially the opening titles. Catch it if you can.

Harry, the word is "pique", as in, "which one of these movies piques your interest?" Not "peeks your interest," that makes you sound completely retarded. ENGLISH MOTHERFUCKER: DO YOU SPEAK IT???

This fella is only a year older than me, and he already has a hit film under his belt. Meanwhile, I'm still going to college and taking English Composition classes. Nuts.
