Interesting. I always wondered how people posted first and why they were proud of it. Actually, I always thought it was pretty stupid. But here I am and wow do I feel cool.
Interesting, but...

...when the heck is there going to be a Criterion dvd of The Fly? The only thing out there is a combo of Fly and Fly 2, and I would like to forget they made a Fly 2. I had a history of film teacher say they should burn the negative of the 1950's Fly, and declare the Cronenberg version the original.
I would see this twice.

Jesus, what an amazing idea. God knows if they can pull it off, but the idea of hearing one of the greatest horror scores ever conceived performed by a live symphony... with Brundlefly lurching about the stage... Wow. It could so easily tip over into cornball camp. Here's hoping they find some grace notes and a shitload of clever makeup! ;)
Fantastic, I'd heard there was a British stage production some y

...why does this need to happen? I'm not sure how the story of The Fly would be helped by being told through the medium of opera. Maybe I'll eat my words one day, but the idea seems a little redumdant to me. I was surprised to hear abut Jerry Springer: The Opera, but after a while, the idea made some sort of sense. Well, I've had a while to think about this one, and it still doesn't make sense.

Mel Brooks's Brooksfilm was the production company behind the 1986 version of "The Fly." If Mel can find success on "The Producers," then there could be a way to find success for "The Fly." Then again, "The Producers" lends itself to be a much easier transision to a musical stage performance than a guy who barfs on donuts before he eats them.

I can just hear the last aria now. Imagine high pitched whiny voice: "Help me! Somebody Help me! A spider's coming, so help me, please! . . ."
This actually might get me to the opera again.

The film had a very operatic feel to it and the dialogue could easily be adapted. But what I'd really like to see would be that Planet of the Apes musical. "I hate every ape I see... from chim-pan-A to chim-pan-zee!"

I mean, what the fuck are they gonna sing? 'A fly! A fly! I'm turning into a fly! My name is Seth Brundle and I'm turning into a fly! Please wait till that scene where I snap that guy's arm off armwrestling as it's extremely cool!' I must admit I like the 1986 film. Some great makeup on Brundle, and parts are the film truly are horror. Shore's score I think is top notch.

With such wonderful songs as "Put the fucking lotion in the basket" "Are you about a size 14" and the lovely "If I could smell her cunt". You have got to check out these songs!

Sung to the tune of Knees up Mother Brown sung by Jeff Goldblum "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should, that was very silly, you did it coz you could.Or maybe Geena Davies Sings"I'm pregnant (oh no),I'm having Seths baby,It might turn out ok but it might look like a larva maybe".Seriously was Gene Wilder hiding behind the curtains holding back a laugh while Mel was pitching this?
