T4 = Who Cares? T3 Was a worthless piece of shit. Nick Stahl was good, despite the script, and Kristanna Lokken was hot. Other than that it was a total and complete pile of shit. AND, on top of just not being any good, T3 went the extra step of destroying the good that Terminator set up and T2 barely held on to. Please, fan community, let's teach some folks a lesson and make this one bomb, so they'll just stop with the Terminator movies!

I didn't think T3 was shit, unlike most people. I could see where they were taking the story into the INEVITABLE sequel set in the future hell. They totally set up the Arnold-style Terminators in the future so the Governator HAS to be back or else you might as well not make this movie. They should delay the movie until Arnold can do it. There's no rush for T4. They set up Connor being killed by the Terminator from T3. I hope this movie isn't being made just so we can have a 'badass' future-war crapfest that dumb fanboys have been longing for since the original Terminator. Biehn playing Connor is an extremely cool idea. He is obviously best at playing a general, and would make this movie a whole lot better. But the huge SCHWARZENEGGER still needs to be next to the title of T4.

Even if it's GAWD AWFUL it'll make a mint. That's the bottom line. Doesn't matter if Arnie is in it or not. Unless it's Batman and Robin bad get ready for T4 (and more than likely T5). Some franchise's will NOT be stopped. Don't think you've seen the last Star Trek, Alien, James Bond or Godzilla just to name a few. Those cash cows can be milked every few years like clock work. Now DVD sales make more money than box office so a move can tank in the theaters and still turn a tidy profit a'la Resident Evil (3 is in the works) I can bring on the terminators! Beisde I like robot carnage.

Count me as one of the few who enjoyed T3. Actually, I enjoyed it a lot. We all knew going in that it would never be as good as T2 - and I think the filmmakers knew that as well. T3 was never trying to be a masterpiece, just a crazy, stunt-filled ride. When viewed as such, it's highly entertaining. I'm all for T4, without or without Arnold, as long as the action remains epic and over-the-top.

Another robot travels through time? Damn, those time/universe loopholes must be crammed with metal by now! T3 was enjoyable, but they could have made it more memorable. Too many new characters, in my opinion. Biehn should have been back for T3. Now it's only a nice action flick while it could have been Fucking Awesome! I loved the open ending, though and maybe they should leave it like that. Everybody knows what happens now.

first of all .. T3 was very good, better than it had any right to be. I thought it continued things very well and set up the inevitable war of the machines. When I saw it, I thought, "Holy shit, T4 could rock." You could also bring back Robert Patrick AND Kristanna Loken and have all three Terminators kicking ass. As for Biehn, I love the guy, but he can't come back as John Connor. Yeah, the similarity in appearance to Kyle Reese would explain some of it, but Biehn has aged to well since the first Terminator. I think it would be impossible to watch him and not think of him as Kyle Reese. And the movie is worthless without Arnold. Anyone who thinks otherwise need only see the Next Karate Kid (no Macchio!), Dumb and Dumberer or Son of the Mask. Can you do Die Hard without Willis? Indiana Jones without Ford? Nope. You can. But it will bomb.

Followed closely by a crappy story. Stahl just looked wimpy and uncomfortable with the role. Furlong would have probably been better, although he's supposed to be a pain to work with. Arnold is looking old and rusty fellas. Anyway, you really don't just need another big guy in a leather jacket walking around for this one. You need human freedom fighters up against massive hardware, blowing stuff up good. While Arnold should make a cameo, this should really be a showcase for other models and cool Skynet tech. It would be kind of a cool scene to show a Terminator production factory with say 1,000 Arnolds. Then you can even up the factor by paying some other big name actors for similar cameos, like The Rock Terminators, Jennifer Garner Terminators, etc. I think T4 could cap the franchise off right though.

... but a future war movie, with him as the star? Where would he fit in? Just how many times can the humans capture any average Arnold-looking Terminator and program him to switch sides??? Its been done to death in T2 and T3. A cameo scene, even an extended cameo scene for those whose mouth's water at Arnold as a Terminator character, would be just fine. As for Biehn as John Connor? Sure, like the last poster said, change his appearance JUST SLIGHTLY, and maybe it could work. I think T4 could potentially work without Arnold. Personally, I'd rather see him play Conan just one more time. BRING ON KING CONAN!!!! (just don't make it too comedic like The Destroyer, bring it back to The Barbarian roots)

Cameron was done with Terminator after T2. It's a shame T3 was even made, as it was a testament to greed and mediocrity. As for T4, on the one hand, people may not be interested in seeing a Terminator movie without Arnie, on the other, he's a shit actor and he's made too many bad flicks anyway.

from what i've read, Arnold's condition was that he'd do a cameo in T4 if they shot it in California... so supposedly it's not about having to pay Arnold a chunk of change for a few minutes of screen time, it's about having to ratchet up the production costs by big numbers across the board -- it's not that they're too cheap to pay for Arnold, they just can't afford to have their whole production hi-jacked to Cali and running up daily expenses that are several times more expensive than shooting out of state or out of the US... however, this is Hollywood AND politics, so i'd say the truth to all this is nowhere to be found -- my guess is ARnold doesn't want to do it, doesn't want the political baggage at a time when he's seriously looking at getting the constitution amended so he can run for president 10 or more years from now... but by playing this 'shoot in CA' card, Arnold wins all around -- to the fanboys it looks like he WANTS to do it, to the industry and California workers he looks like a hero for putting their interests first, and yet, since it's never going to happen, he knows he'll never have to actually do it...

From T1 to T3, we've all become anxious to see the war in full swing. I liked how Cameron approached it in T1 when a Terminator infiltrates a human base and starts laying waste. I think T4 should be a very serious film about humanity on the brink of destruction with a lot of sad and lonely tones. Dark, very dark... something like "Full Metal Jacket's" dark tone in its latter half. If the battles involve mostly the mechanical Terminators, you'd only need Swartzeneggar on the assembly line and heck, you could just haul in the promo footage from T2 for that (if legally able to do so). A war story set in the futute... nothing cheesy... we want the war... the anguish, the sense of despair, desperation, the very atmosphere we see in Reise in T1. May the producers find the team that can give us the gloom.

...first Nick Stahl (sp?) did a pretty damn good job in T3, IMHO. So do this with the plot: Have him and what's her face surviving and getting stuff organised (probably start T4 with the last few minutes of T3, a la Back To The Futures) and also show the robots "evolving" (which would be a great sci-fi thing to see) Anyway, blah blah death camps, captured, smashing metal motherfuckers into junk, then at some point they come across a young (10-ish) Kyle Reese - who has been targeted for termination by some old T-600's! So John Connor has to protect his own dad, and you could also have the idea of John being a father figure to his own father (strangley enough) and filling that void in his own life. Stuff explodes, people get laser scanned THEN we go a ways into the future and do some makeup to create an old Nick Stahl (hopefully better than the "Old Mose" in Ten Commandments) and he sends Kyle back in time to save his mom. (This would be the film's falling action/epilogue) That would completely wrap up the series and bring a final continuity to the whole thing. Point A leads right back to point A! PS: I DON'T think a "good robot" should help John, it should be gritty with humans fighting robots and that's it. I don't even see why they'd need Arnold, but they need SOMEBODY from the old movies. (And not Mike Biehn, he's too old!)

Give it up, guys. T3 was nowhere near as good as T1 or T2. You got lucky once by using Ahnuld and the Terminator franchise name and got a modest hit out of it. There's no way in hell a T4 without him is going to make a dime at the box office. And I'd much rather see Kurt Wimmer create more of his own movies than try to give an adrenaline shot to a past-its-sell-by-date franchise.

OK T1 was great but kind of a paradox and t2 was great but made even less sense but t3 whilst not quite as good a film actually managed to explain why the other 2 made no sense. In The Terminator Universe some things are inevitible - man will invent AI eventually and said AI will decide to off man, the war will pretty much devestate the world but the machines are destined to lose. You can kill John Conner, you can kill all his offsiders - it doesn't make any difference because the future just alters subtley and some other person takes their place. In the Terminator Universe you could go back in time and shoot Hitler as a boy and Hess would simply become more power mad and WW2 would still happen. The big things are unalterable although they can be delayed but the details of who are malleable.
