Can this man ever make a mistake? I sincerely hope not - such inspiring work. I may be the luckiset man on the planet having a 4 cel original scene from Porco Rosso which is signed and dated by the man himself on the wall on my stairs - every time I venture to bed I get to say goodnight to the Red Pig himself.

one thing that turned me off of spirited away was the old lady. and that baby. they just were annoying to me. I liked everything else tho, and now with the new flick, we get another old lady? IT'll be interesting to see where ghibli goes with that...i just hope she's cool...
Can't wait...

Does anyone have an idea when we'll have Howl's here in America? I'm psyched to see it, as i have been all the Miyazaki Films. I swear, the man is a Modern Day Walt Disney.
A review that doesn't pander, hype, or slam. Refreshing.

Good signs. I'm there. And imageburn, if the witch and baby annoyed you... their job was done.

Unknown, but probably about this time in 2005 given that "Spirited Away" took a little over a year to hit US theaters after its Japanese release.

I can't wait! Miyazaki is a wonderful film-maker... and thankfully NOT Walt Disney! :)

Can that be possible next year? Spirited Away is one of the best animated movies ever made, having seen the movie 7 times in theaters. I hope Howl's Moving Castle is mind-blowingly good as well.

Forget about seeing this in the cinema for now, it will be atleast a year, by which time the Japanese DVD will be out. Also, as with Spirited Away they're bound to slap a horrible dub on it for the theatres. For anyone who has only seen Ghibli's films dubbed - you've only experienced half the pleasure available. Some US releases don't even give you the option of having the original soundtrack. Throw them away and get the imports. The characters, relationships and even story are changed dramatically for Western audiences, 'Disneyfying' them beyond belief.
Is Totoro there?
