before i said that if this was going to be shot-for-shot from the book, they might as well not do it. But after seeing that clip and the pics and stuff, I'm convinced. Not that I've read the book, but fuck if that don't look cool. And before any fuckers come along, ncie job on the exclusive Harry/Mori

I thought there is no possible way the coolness of this movie could increase, I was wrong. The awesome Bruce Willis poster rules with an iron fist. I cant wait to see this.

Who here is sick to death of the "comic Book" font that big time hollywood jackasses seem instantly drawn to when making a comic/movie adaptation? The posters look great, but those little boxes look, if you'll pardon the expression, retarded. So did the opening credits to the hulk. Also, today is Guy Falwks Day.

Unless something got drastically cooler than the 7 minute thingy I also saw. Even in the Willis poster, you can tell it was shot on a sound stage. I mean, why digitally insert rain into the picture when Bruce doesn't look wet at all? It's like the other bits that I saw: they concentrated so hard on getting that comic book look and capturing certain "freeze frame" moments that they forgot they were making a movie. The footage I've seen so far confirms this, it looks stagey and like they were trying way to hard to be "noir". I'll probably see it at some point, but these posters just confirm it. Rodriguez has the sense of cool of a 12 year old. He should stick to spy kids.

I mean, not for any lack of quality, because I do believe the film will be great. But I have a strong feeling this will follow the box office track of "Sky Captain."

I love much of Frank Miller's writing. "The Dark Knight Returns" and "Batman: Year One" are among my favorite three books of all time, ... the other being "Kingdom Come", which was NOT written by Miller (but would make an AWESOME movie in the right hands). -- Anyway, the sequel to "The Dark Knight Returns" was one of the most disappointing works of his, I felt. I'm not ALWAYS happy with Miller's work ... but man, ... when he's cookin', ... he's smokin' with great writing. -- The storytelling of "The Dark Knight Returns" ... with the increased number of panels per page in contrast to the explosive full page shots ... was pure magic. Perhaps the best storytelling ever done in the graphic medium. -- I have high hopes for this "SIN CITY" movie. I will go see it ... and if it does not disappoint, I'll buy the dvd. For now, all I can say is ... it looks great!

I for one enjoyed the experimental artwork, and I thought that the story was great as well. Leave it to Frank to skewer Bush, Jr. and the new cons just like he did with Reagan in the original DK.

It's amazing what a good director can do with $30k. I thought it had a lot of heart, and that Alien was fantastic. The costume wasn't that bad; old school, for sure, but not bad like Adam West's suit

Bouffant_S is spot on. All the footage that's been released looks awful. It was hilarious how they smugly cut in the images from the comic, as if it to say "Look! It's Miller's drawings come to life!", even though the lighting couldn't be less faithful to the art they've just shown. The grayscale actors on the two-tone backdrops looks ridiculous, and does nothing to evoke the feel of the comics whatsoever. Much like Mickey Rourke's Marv make-up, which looks great in the poster, but in the footage becomes outright comical. And am I imagining it, or have they elongated Benicio Del Toro's nose? It's looks all Pinocchio styles in the scene with him in the car. Here's a whacky idea: cast people who look like the characters rather than encasing your buddies in rubber.
