Veronica needs to do some fun episodes

Don't get me wrong I love the drama and the darker parts of V to but it could use some more humor. Also like Leon from the Budweiser commericals Veronica can't do it all. Veronica needs some help from her supporting cast. Veronica can't cook without that dough baby. This has been a terrific television season. The baseball playoffs, Lost, Veronica Mars, Desperate Housewives, and the upcoming second season of the OC. Of course there isn't a half-decent sitcom in sight but I can be patient.
I'm intrigued by this show.

So one key player is out of the picture this week? WHO!? Argh! I didn't want to get sucked into another show with a mystery, but I just can't help it. Why do I do this... X-Files, Alias, and now Veronica Mars, Desperate Housewives, and Lost. I love how these shows just leave me with more questions than answers... only I'm gonna want those answers eventually. I do hope the ratings start looking up for this show. It's so worthy.
Where is the fricken' SNL talkback?

Probably the most talked about episode on SNL in 10 years and we get no talkback? Ashlee Simpson. Who would have thought? You know who looks bad here: SNL. They used to be able to boast "the only live performance on television" each week. In a time when EVERYONE who appeared on American Bandstand 'mimed' along to their 45rpm single (complete with fade-out) SNL ALWAYS showcased great musical performaces. I don't even buy the whole, "they're dancing, so they can't be expected to actually SING at the same time." If you can't to either very well, GET OFF THE STAGE!!! Go work in an office and leave us alone.

You hit the nail on the head there, Herc. Maybe some of the younger readers will now be motivated to check out the Dude's earlier, sadder, non-musical adventure. Good stuff.

Who killed Lily...

Well I'm leaning towards it being her brother, Veronica's ex. boyfriend. I'm not sure why however. Maybe it was an accident that the family decided to cover up. As for why Veronica's mom left them, that may be an entirely unrelated matter. I see the show resolving the Lily murder first, then moving on to the mystery of Veronica's mom.

I hope it gets a full season order. Soon as Pedro puts the Redbirds away, I'll check out tonight's Herc-4 rating installment. And if Herc really is a girl and a Republican then it makes sense why there was such a fixation on Ainsley Haines a few years ago.
Has anyone had a show make them speechless?

What the hell do you say about this episode of Veronica Mars? I'm embarassed for every other show on television..... Everyone else is playing checkers at this point. First of all I knew Troy was too good to be true! Bastard! But why was did he befriend Veronica? Was that a ploy? Lily is on Law and Order SVU right now! Also I don't like the fact that Veronica is hanging by a limb in terms of viewers, but I like the fact that Veronica is our little secret. No one knows about it. I hope Troy comes back as Veronica's nemesis, they were a ok couple but better enemies.God this show is great! What more can you say?
Wow! I DID NOT see that shit coming...

Seems a little too far out of left field though. I find it hard to beleive that he'd been planning that from the get go. He and Veronica seemed to have a pretty genuine relationship. Maybe the plan came up in Tijuana. Good stuff though.VM is the only show on TV except Lost thats suprises me even a little.

Weird, the actress that plays Lily is on SVU right after VM. So she's played a girl that got her head bashed in now she's playing a girl that got raped. Rough.
I need to reclarify something......

Veronica Mars is clearly the BEST show on television but Desperate Housewives is the most FUN to watch....... Also shame on you Keith Mars, DO YOU REALIZE WHAT AN UPGRADE PAULA MARSHALL IS OVER LIANNE MARS!!!!!!!!!!

Like the little in-joke that Veronica and Wallace had over being like the Scoobies (which may have also been a subtle, unspoken nod to "Buffy").
Kristen Bell is the best actress on TV, period.

Well, the best since Claudia Black on the Farscape miniseries, but that's over now. First Bell scares the holy bejeezus out of me with her fabulous performance on "Deadwood" as the ice-cold teen whore/con woman, and now she makes me laugh while she breaks my heart as Veronica. It seems Bell just appeared out of nowhere, but thank God she has! Watch this show, people! Don't let UPN get rid of it -- it's too damn good.

If Troy has some hot number like Shawna across the border, why the hell did he date someone like Veronica Mars in the first place? Shouldn't he have dated an airhead who was a sure thing he could shag before ditching her? I thought that was a very forced twist ending, and I didn't like seeing Veronica get burned yet again. I hope this doesn't mean the show will settle into a revolving door of love interests who turn out to be slime. That's a tired formula. Although I guess I'd prefer that to her getting back together with the anti-depressant popping ex-boyfriend character. I know, let's just NOT have her or anyone on the show date at all and focus on the mysteries for a while.

yeah this show is all good. yes it's ANOTHER show with teenage girls frolicking (gentlemen. obviously we cant help ourselves) but it's so perfectly put together and executed that we just might be off the hook. when that chick delivered the mike hammer line "miss so and so doesn't get the big picture..." i sat up and said "hot shit"- and next week harry hamlin and lisa rina doing some clever stunt casting as skeevy rich people... do i detect some james ellroy class warfare in the offing. anyhoo- i'm getting ahead of myself here; if it stays that snappy next week i'll be happy. and i'll go on record as sticking around for next week.

See, I thought it was "Ain't It Cool?" with a question mark, like you were asking us, not telling us (or trying to dictate to us). Week after week Herc tries to convince us V.Mars is cool and week after week we keep explaining to him, no, it's not. Sorry. Nothing personal, you don't 'get' "Desperate Housewives" and I don't 'get' Mars. So we're square. Personally it's a matter of taste and ratings mean nothing to me, so I don't feel smug that the numbers are on my side and 'Wives' got picked up for the full year already and won't be giving it's time slot back to "Alias" either. ***** I read an interesting article about Enrico Colosanto, V's daddy. He says that after years of being on a professional half hour sit-com with a decent budget on a real network, he can't get the rhythm of a show that barely rehearses and never films more than one or two takes. So if his scenes are a little 'off', that's his bad for wanting to think out his performance while the cameras are rolling. Funny how the guy who was the only relative unknown on "Just Shoot Me" winds up being the only recognizable name star on this little show. ***** But hey, I'm glad you've got a nice little cult show going here on Tuesday nights. All I have as lead in for NYPD: Blue is some dopey sit-com parody about a family of lions working in a Vegas magic show, and I'm not proud of it. Taste's subjective. Pax out.
What is the appeal of this show?

It seems boring to me. I tried to watch it, but just the dialogue between Veronica and her dad was enough for me to say "Yawn". For a show with a character with such a sci-fi-esque monicer like "Veronica Mars" it sure is dull and.. rather ordinary. You'd think it'd be a lot more strange; you konw, to fit the strange name. Whatever, I think Herc might be overly excited about this rather bland show.
My latest theory: Veronica's mom had an affair with her ex-bf's

Veronica's father is actually not her father -- Lily's father is her father. That's right. I'm saying that Lily and Veronica are/were half-sisters. And that means that Duncan, her ex, and her are half-siblings, too -- they had a half-incestual relationship and didn't even know it. This ties into why Veronica's mom is gone, and why Lily said her mother wanted to keep Veronica and Duncan apart. They are all RELATED.

Hey, V.Mars gets a rave review n the new TV guide: "This is not your typical pandering youth soap, which is probably why the WB's trashier One Tree Hill is clobbering it in the ratngs." wow, you can't buy a pull quote like that. So, then, it IS a pandering youth soap, but it's "atypical"? Cool, now I get it.
I wish girls look like they do on these high school shows... gaw
