Headed for gastric bypass surgery huh? Well, good luck on that, man. If you feel it's the only way to go to lose the weight, I wish you the best, although it's a major life long sacrifice there you're making. I hope you've considered all the alternatives fully and the risk involved.

is a very good bet. Perhaps Calvaire (The Ordeal), too, since Harry tends to throw in at least one movie concerned solely with torture. Rahtree: Flower of the Night is also a possibility, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it. What else... The Aviator... if Harry could get Scorsese to show up. The Libertine. Sucker Free City. Kung Fu Hustle. Hell, maybe he'll toss in the nine-hour Evolution of a Filipino Family just to fuck with people.

Harry, don't go a-changin'. You've got the girl. Part of what keeps 33 year old geeks who still live at home (like me) coming to this site is knowing that it's run by an overweight red-headed freak with bad facial hair --- who still lives at home, too. If you can get The Girl, it gives hope to losers like me. Also --- revamping the site??? Don't do it to me, buddy. I've been here since '97 when the site used to be a long single page of update links against an ID4 background. When you changed it the first time it sent me into fits. Geeks don't like change.

Has this site ever changed? It looks the same to me as it did 6 years ago. How about a european BNAT? In fact those horse-munching, bureaucracy loving quasi-fascists can go and fuck themselves - just do it in the UK.

I can't wait to sleep at the Austin Motel, to eat at Threadgills, Amy's Ice Cream, and the Green Mesquite, to tour the Capitol, to hang with my friend Ginger on Sunday night at Casino el Camino and Beerland...

Both shocked and awed. My guesses for movies: The Life Aquatic for sure. Maybe Constantine or Blade: Trinity or Elektra (but not more than 1 of the three), The Phantom of the Opera, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, and maybe Meet The Fockers. And a bunch of indie stuff.

Harry, you should give out VERN'S NEW BOOK!
by Vern
Oct 20th, 2004
04:19:16 AM
Hey Harry, it's me Vern. You know how I now have a book collecting 87 of my greatest movies reviews? Well what better thing to give out to your numb butts? What you should do, you go to http://www.lulu.com/outlawvern where the book 5 ON THE OUTSIDE: VERN'S WRITINGS ON THE FILMS OF CINEMA is available, and you should buy 240 of them. And then you should give them to everybody there. It would be great and they would learn alot and we'd all be happy. Also to be frankly honest it would be good for me, I could buy christmas presents this year. You know how people are about that shit. "can't believe you gave me a six pack for christmas" etc. Well think about it bud, p.s. if Mel Gibson shows up again ask him what's the deal with payback 2: the man with the getaway face. Starring somebody else. It would be a good idea. p.p.s If you want to give everybody TWO copies that's not a bad idea. That's 480 I believe. Or just round it up to 500 to be safe maybe. However you do these events, you know what you're doing. thanks harry

"1st public screening"=BS
by SarumanTheChef

BNAT 5 was NOT the first public screening of Return of the King, if it was on the 6th(my bday incidentally). I bought public tickets for, and attended the first public screening to night before in Palm Springs, a KCET fundraiser event; Ian KcKellen spoke beforehand. These tickets were publicly, and easily available(just called them up, no connections or such), though pricey heh. So if the BNAT screening last year was on the 6th, it was SO not the first public screening :)

I'm sure I'll regret it, but... any BNAT attendees that are also LiveJournal users can join the bnatters community at http://www.livejournal.com/com munity/bnatters/ As an out of towner who has been to two BNATs, and who has absolutely no corporate affiliation with the film industry, I have to say that I greatly appreicate that Harry makes up the crowd of equal parts locals and out of towners. It really did not seem corporate at all at 5. Many of the films that were there have not found their way to US release dates yet. Haute Tension is still being held up, and OldBoy isn't hitting a US release until 2005 (and I can get that at the video store down the street). And Teen Mother... god, trust me, there's nothing corporate about that steaming pile of... Americana. The most coporate thing there, to me, was The Passion of the Christ, which was a real ho-hum for me personally.

No joke about the Tarantino festival! That was great because A: It went for a few days if not a whole week, B: QT is much more fun to listen to than Harry, C: Everything he showed was old, quirky, and was influential somwhow to the way indies are done now and D: I didn't have to try to justify who I was just to attend. I stood in line and bought a ticket and that was it...no essay, no nothing. I remember seeing Motel Hell and The House on Sorority Row back to back with intro by QT before each show...and he'd go on...and on...and on...man that was fun! Oh, and everyone in the crowd was a local...that was nice too.

you need to turn your security settings off on your road runner account. 2 of my emails were returned with a message about security. very stressful it was. i had to use a different email address and i have no idea if it even went through to you. so please check that setting out and get an auto responder set up so that everyone who's entering knows that their emails go through. know what i mean? thanks!

I sent my email at 12:15, and I bcc'ed my own account, but I don't see any proof that it went thru. as the previous poster implied, is your account bouncing any email with attachments? I sent it via gmail which is still pretty slow and I know some of these photo heavy emails must be clogging your account. I can send it again but I know that would just add to the problem. so let us know what's going on Harry...please, the pressure is making me queasy.

i think it is bouncing emails with attachments. even though i had saved my images for web and the toatl email was only 91k (which should go through without a hitch) it gave me a delivery failure. so i did the next best thing: i sent it from hotmail which gives me no response or reassurance that anything went through. i'm very nervous right now and tempted to resend it with my first email without attachments. very very nervous right now.

If you think the Sox winning the series is a good omen you are a dumb ass. Just look at this sKerry sQuote from the debates: ********** (remember the second Presidential debate when he said this in response to the environmental question.....) ********** GIBSON: Senator Kerry, minute and a half. ********** KERRY: Boy, to listen to that -- the president, I don't think, is living in a world of reality with respect to the environment. Now, if you're a Red Sox fan, that's OK. But if you're a president, it's not. ********** Fair weather fan???
