I mean Nip/Tuck S2. Great Season. Except for the incest thing. Way to pulled out of an ass for shcok value for me.

But the whole incest storyline is a little much. Too much shock value for shock value's sake.

This season was promising at the start. But each episode has had at least one moment that rings totally false. Kind of like the downer third season of Six Feet Under. They lost track of the blend of humor and drama that made the show a hit in the first place and sacrificed it for the next big shock... Still 100% better than most network TV shows.

come on Herc, give the show a break. it's no Gilmore Girls, but these boys sure do like to party. ***** seriously, I've watched every episode and it is one of my favorite shows. when it first came on I watched it for the surgeries, but I really like the characters now. I think Julia's motivations are kinda weird and the son, Matt, used to look freakishly like Michael Jackson - but I love Christian Troy. what a cad. I also like these staggered seasons, more shows should start during the summer.

The show is just so nasty and naughty and laugh-out-loud funny that simply bumbing off FX shows is just problematic for someone who has as much power as you. Are you honestly saying you DON'T like "Rescue Me," one of the best new shows in years?

...and as much as I like Lost, the FX triumvirate still rules TV. The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and now Rescue Me are the highest quality shows you can catch on the small screen now. Tonight's season finale is no exception. This harkens back to the day when a season finale was a season finale, you know with closure and a good cliffhanger. TV recently has lost its balls, and Nip/Tuck like one of its protagonists, Christian Troy, has the biggest balls of them all and shows us how good TV really can be. The main networks, and the general public brainwashed by shows the half hour laugh tracks, can learn a few things from FX. How to write well, develop characters, break new ground, be daring, be controversial, have impact, and all around entertain.

The Joan Rivers B plot was completely pointless, unless it was suppose to convey some kind of message about plastic surgery. The Ava Moore A plot was uninteresting. The whole problem with the finale was that it wasn't about Troy and McNamara. The ending was good, but I hate cliff hangers. Actually it isn't really a cliff hanger as we know what happens.

The First time was at the hands of Kimber, the second time at the hands of Jeremy Slotnick, and now at the hands of the carver. Seriously, Dr. Troy needs to get a body guard, because he apparently has a big bullseye on his chest.

I think it was only there to have some throwaway footage. The episode ran the full time even without commercials, which means they have things they'll cut when they re-air it. I'd say Joan fits the bill.

Though, we now have eight months to wait for the next season - THAT'S TORTURE! The first season's finale had no cliffhanger, and really wrapped things up for a fresh start for season two. Granted, Christian isn't gonna be killed, but still, I was hoping for more Carver story progression here. I hope the pay off of this storyline is nice and juicy next season. Though, this show has yet to disappoint me. I very much like these summer run series because there's no filler episodes. Every episode moves the characters and the stories forward. I also LOVE RESCUE ME. One of the best shows ever, and I've always been a Denis Leary fan. Fantastic show. Too bad I have to miss some LAW & ORDER episodes in the process, but it's a willful sacrafice. -NJM

Wait a second! Julian McMahon is going to be Doctor Doom?!? WTF? Cancel that film project, open up the studios and start working on season 3 ASAP. I liked this season of Nip/Tuck. Maybe not as much as season 1 which seemed to focus more on the surgical cases (and maybe too much on the whole drug dealer guy). It was cool to see him return in this episode though. I just hate the fact that they left everyone hanging with this episode. I really had a theory about Ava being the Carver, ala Silence of the Lambs and the whole transgender reassignment and serial killers (even though he never killed anyone). I was expecting another airport arrest finale with that security guy opening her suitcase and finding the mask. No dice. See you next year Nip/Tuck.

I have to say that I feel that not revealing the Carver's identity was a bit of a cop out. They've been dragging this out all season and now we have to wait another year? So I'm guessing that Christian was paralyzed while being slashed to the point of beyond repair. This is his revenge for Sean fixing his victims. Poor Christian.

FUCK! Now I have to wait 8 MONTHS before learning if Christian was anally raped or not! Famke was fabulous in this episode - she almost made her despicable character sympathetic. And to be fair, it wasn't technically an incest plot because 'she' was not Adrian's biological mom. *** Now there's a few months of boring Tuesdays before 24 and The Shield kick in!

"Charmed" has sunk it's boat by the ill witted casting of the talentless hack Nick Lachey opposite Alyssa Milano and the idea that one more "Dawsonscreekonetreehillthemou ntainFelicity" clone makes for saleable revenue. They lied to us with the "Look up" teaser for the "Smallville" premiere and promptly pulled the plug out of the balloon by declaring "Kal-El can fly! Clark Kent is Earthbound!" crap!

I think that every time I see Famke. I'm not "freaky" obsessed with her, but I had to stop and watch this show for the first time because I saw her on there. Honestly, she's better looking than anyone should be allowed to be. And to make a guy look like THAT Alec Baldwin's character would have had to use The Force.

So, I wonder if the carver is going to turn out to be anyone we know? Most of the obvious suspects have been ruled out at this point. I thought it might be Ava, or Adrian, but no. I thought it might be Kimber, but that's a little too contrived, not to mention the rape angle, which also likely rules out Gina. Surely it's not Slotnick, so Who The Hell Can it Be??? Hell, for a second there last week I thought it might be Bruno Campos, the wierd way he was acting before fixing Sean's face. Maybe that's why Joan was on there, she's The Carver. The only thing I didn't really like about the first season of Nip/Tuck was how they tied everything up in a neat little package with the season finale, and left no conflicts for season two. Well they sure as hell left things hanging this time around.

So I have stayed away from this show for a few reasons. The main one being I wasn't that impressed with the pilot episode. But with nothing on last night but the boring VP candidates debate, I decided to watch. Plus I was hoping to find out who The Carver was. This show is deranged...but now I'm thoroughly hooked and am going to go rent season 1 immediately and hopefully catch season 2 in reruns this fall. Now, since I'm new, don't flame me, but is it possible that Matt is The Carver? I don't think it's a woman based on what I've seen, plus the rape thing. So if there was going to be a major cast member, wouldn't that leave Matt? The only other possibility I can think of is it's some patient that Sean and Christian screwed up or couldn't help years ago and now they're out for revenge on everyone. But that would be lame. Is it also possible that the last part of the episode (or the whole episode for that matter) was a dream or hallucination? Again, I'm new to the show, so I don't know how the episode last week wrapped up after Sean got cut up by the Carver. But I was watching the episode and it seemed very dream like (but that could just be the way the show looks in general), so I thought maybe this is all in Sean's mind. Just a few thoughts. Would love to hear what loyal watchers think.

It was amusing to me that Joan Rivers felt that her simulated natural aging features would have made her look like ET- because the way she is now is like some monster that Tim Burton dreamed up. The longer her screen time stretched the more I realized that her face looked like a pumpkin with some horrendous mask pulled tightly over it. I felt at times like her head was just going to fall off- she's just ghastly. Aside from that- Nip/Tuck was at least as good as the first season this year- if even less believable- here's a small list of complaints- 1. Did Ava REALLY have to be a guy? We spent all season thinking how bad we wanted to bang her- only to be thrown this hideous curveball... 2. Shillinger from OZ with breast implants- I wasn't feeling that at all... 3. What happened to Sean and Julia's daughter? She had like two minutes of screen time this whole season- other than that ridiculous "Princess Menses" thing- and jeez was that even season 2? 4. Do something to Matt's features to make him look less like Michael Jackson- fercrisssakes... 5. Maybe start showing a little less of the exaggerated soap opera cliches and focus more on the business aspect and Troy/McNamara's competition? Like another Bobolit... Other than that- good shit... Not HBO- but not regular broadcast TV either...

...that facial expert Christian had flown in from elsewhere last episode to repair Sean's face. I don't know how I know that, but I do. They spent too much time on his charity work not to make him evil. As for the show, it is naughty good fun and one of the three or four best shows on TV right now (and, Herc, Gilmore Girls may be #5 on that list, but Rescue Me and The Shield are definitley worlds better television than that). Julian really is kind of a pussy for a guy who works out as much as he does and is clearly holding in a lot of childhood rage. You'd think he'd put up a fight against one of the many people who've tied him up and poked him with pointy implements over the last two years.

Last night was the first episode I ever saw and I really liked it. I felt sorry for Ava, actually, to have had a sex change to win Alec Baldwin's love, only to (predictably enough) lose him anyway. Then she's hooked up with their "son." All very trippy and interesting, loved it. Also loved Joan Rivers subplot. I didn't realize how much surgery she has had. Trippy! Loved the episode, but I have a feeling all other episodes will be a let down after that show.

Ok, here is the spoiler They did not reveal who the carver is. Sean set a trap for him to come to his home, complete with cameras and a gun. Unfortunately the Carver went to Christian's place and paralyzed him in his sleep with a syringue and then proceeded to slash his face (off camera) so we have no idea how many times Christian was slashed and whether or not anyone will find him in time to save him. Hopefully, knowing Christian, he had some broad there that was in the bathroom or something and will call the police...

Hey, I haven't seen the season finale yet so this may have been ruled out...but I always had the suspicion that the Carver was Famke's son. Just the way he acts (cold, detached) and some of the cuts they did, where they talked about the Carver's work and then would cut to him (the son) doing something.

For those paying attention, my money is on Julia's new boyfriend, played by D.W. Moffet to be the "Carver". He has all the inside info on the new McNamara home security system and that Dr. Sean now has a pistol. Besides they showed his face with Julia in the "previous episode" intro for no other reason except that... F/X rules! Between "The Shield", "Nip/Tuck" and "Rescue Me", F/X has three of the best dramas on TV today.

Cocolopez Complaints
by Cheif Brody
Oct 7th, 2004
04:45:04 AM
Sorry, Coco...Your complaints about the show this season are tedious. 1. Why did Ava have to be a man? Hideous curveball? Sorry...If you step up to the Nip/Tuck plate, you better be ready for lots of curveballs!! The show thrives BECAUSE they lead you down paths and then rip the rug out from under you. You want boring and predictible? Nip/Tuck ain't the show. 2. OZ's man-tits episode? Again...That is the recurring theme of the show. That the folks coming in to the Troy/MacNamara office looking for the perfect fix to their lives...seldom ends up fixing anything. I thought that episode was very compelling. 3. Where is Sean & Julia's daughter...Annie? Hey...this is TV land. Everybody Loves Raymond has 3 kids on that show. When was the last time you saw any of them? Nip/Tuck is an adult show with very complex, adult subjects addressed...(including a young child's first encounter with a period). I don't blame the writers on the show for not shoe horning the little girl into every episode. If her character is not needed...they leave her out of these adult situations. Sorry, Coco...Your complaints seem rather petty to me.

Chiefbrody- you don't have to apologize- my complaints weren't stated to impress you- I don't even know who the f*ck you are! But in all seriousness- It's cool if you want to be an unquestioning Pavlov's Dog when it comes to your favorite shows- but you don't have to tell me about Nip/Tuck's curveballs- I've seen every episode so far- and though it's one of my favorite shows- the curveballs are in the vein of an overexaggerated soap opera- anyone who disagrees needs a reality check- but that's why I like this show- It's a guilty pleasure in which I can check my mind in at the door- for more cerebral viewing I watch The Wire, Carnivale, etc... My small list of complaints on Nip/Tuck aren't big enough to make me not enjoy/watch the show- That being said Chief- go suck on a hairy di*k!
