Simon Pegg is a god among men and I worship at his golden goatee of power. I want his babies. Is it not the shisnit that he and Edgar are in Land of the Dead??!!! That is awesome!! Word is that on this DVD set that they give you a semi Spaced ending with he and Jessica doing a Han and Leia scene and gives you the goods on where Daisy and Tim are at in life. Why can't we have this here in America!!! I've been watching it on Trio thanks to the wonder of my DirectTv and I am in total lust with Tim. Tonight is the last episodes and I will be in extreme depression mode for the rest of the week, between that and breaking my damn toe. They will continue with the showings on Trio, so if any of you have Dishnet or DirecTV watch it!

Hey Chastain-86. Sadly, you can't get Spaced Region 1 or Region free. However, I bought a small region free player from RadioShack for a mere $25, then headed over to Amazon.co.uk to buy lots of UK DVD's (I live in the US now, but miss some of my old shows). Maybe after all the Shaun of the Dead interest they'll finally release Region 1 versions, but we'll see. I read somehwere that there are copyright issues showing the show in America, due to the heavy use of specific music, dialogue etc in all the movie homages and references. Incidentally, I also got the Shaun of the Dead DVD, and it is packed to the hilt with extras. One of the coolest is Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright presenting the outline of the movie as a flip chart back in 2001, way before they've cast the roles, written the script or picked up a camera. Amazing how clear a vision they had even back then.

Do yourself a favor and go region-free. I recommend the Malata DVP-520 DVD player. Not only is it region-free, it also plays both NTSC and PAL on ANY television. I bought mine on eBay for about $180 a year and a half ago. Beware of the Apex region-free players -- they're cheaper, but complete shit. I can't even begin to tell you what a pleasure it is to be able to browse the entire world for DVDs and not have regions factoring in at all. Once you've liberated yourself, make sure you visit this site regularly to see which the best DVD versions are out there: www.dvdcompare.net Good luck!
Ideas for the sequel

Shaun and Liz make it out, but the damn trees come and possess her, Shaun must then chop off her head with a shovel. It turns out that Foree electronics is really a subsideary of Smart and Ash really did have the flu. He comes back in to work and he and Shaun must join forces to take out the evil deadites who were the real source of the zombie plague and who are now ruled by Evil Ed. There is this beautiful battle between Shaun and Ed, where Ed admits that he in fact is Shaun's real father the seed of a torrid love affair he had with Barbara. Barbara is then brought back to life (albeit without much of a head) and she is now Ed's queen. Shaun's left hand is cut off by an evil swipe of the sword by Ed and Ash tells him it's not the end of the world and helps fashion him a new hand out of a light sabre. The two mighty zombie killers then have a final battle between Bad Barbara and Evil Ed. In the end Ash is beaten to a pulp but manages to take out Barbara with a well placed boom stick shot. Shaun takes down Ed, followed by the immortal words "Light, Dark, I'm the one with the light sabre" The end! Until the Sequel of the sequel...Shaun of the Deadites..

Hey, Chastain-86, the other guys gave good recommendations for finding region-free players, but here's another recommendation for you. There's a DVD player that Radio Shack, Best Buy, and lots of other stores sell for dirt cheap ($40.00 or less)called a Cyberhome CH-DVD 300 that you can make region free with the push of 3 buttons on the remote (for instructions go here: http://www.videohelp.com/dvdha cks.php?select=Cyberhome+CH-DV D+300). I've tried it and it works beautifully. I was able to watch my Region 2 "Shaun of the Dead" here in the states with no problems at all. And speaking of that DVD, the extras are some of the best extras I've ever seen on a DVD (just as entertaining and exciting as the movie itself - which is saying A LOT). I've already ordered my Region 2 "Spaced" (definitive edition) so that by this time next week I will be quoting lines from it too, hopefully. By the way, that website I told you to visit has just about every DVD player on the market listed in its database and most of the listings have instructions on how to make them region free. You'll want to check it out for sure.
Region Free is indeed great

Though I'd recommend the Cyberhome 500 over the 300 personally, it does much better PAL>NTSC conversion and is just an all around better player. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi dos/tg/detail/-/B00006JBJY/qid =1096413509/sr=8-1/ref=pd_ka_1 /102-2429948-1208919?v=glance& s=electronics&n=507846

...and you can buy it at Target for a mere 43.00. I have Spaced season 1 & 2 and Shaun Of The Dead and they all play beautifully. I even bought a second unit for the bedroom. Spaced is absolutely the funniest sitcon EVER. It blows away every American or British show I've seen. I WISH I could record that show and let EVERYONE see it as it deserves a HUGE fan base here in the states. If you love Clerks, Star Wars, The Matrix, Seinfeld, Human Traffic or movies and comedy in general, do yourself a favor and buy SPACED NOW.

About the CyberHome machines

There are a lot of complaints about them quitting after a few months or just burning out. There seems to be a reason the machine is so cheap. My advice is to go with a more established and stable machine, like a Malata. Here's a few machines to choose from: http://www.hkflix.com/hardware / For the best picture, I would recommend Americans to seek out a true multi-system (PAL/NTSC)television. That way you won't have to settle for a converted image (with less resolution) and can watch any disc in it's native resolution. In Europe this is almost never a problem since most DVD players are region-free and most televisions multi-system.

...they can be set to region 0 in the hidden menu (access this by entering a 3 digit code with the remote). This setting opens them up to ANY dvd in the world. Go to amazon.com and look up my Cyberhome CH-DVD320 review where I listed the code (can't remember it right now. Too much coffee...). I've had mine for 6 months now and use it ALL THE TIME and it still works like a champ. If it brioke today, I would feel like I got my 43.00 worth. Oh yeah, BUY SPACED NOW.

I agree with Brummy Scotty. I bought the previous boxed set only 2 months ago and now a better(?) version is out. This just seems like a way of screwing more money from fans who have already got previous versions. This is why I usually wait before buying DVDs. I can either get the originally cheap so I don't feel so cheated when the SE comes out, or just wait for the SE.

I'm taping all of the SPACED episodes they're showing. Who knows, maybe we'll get a crappy American remake in a few years.
