I like trailers that don't show you the entire plot, setup, middle act, and ending all at once. I'm not all hyped up about this flick, but my interest is up.

Am I the only one that finds the tag line How Fucked Up Is That? annoying and looking like they'e trying too hard to be self referential and cool? The movie looks good enough without that annoying "wink, wink" to the audience.

But clowns scare the shit outta me, and movies that could possibly happen scare me even more. Having seen that teaser, I will never EVER in a million years purposely go see that movie. I still have nightmares from Dawn of the Dead (2004) that ruin my sleep and ZOMBIES AREN'T EVEN REAL!!! Thanks but no thanks.

Want to see something truly scary and spend just a few minutes on it? Download and watch the recalled "Exorcist" trailer ("Something beyond comprehension...") and the first "Alien" teaser ("A word of warning..."). It's rather symptomatioc that two 30 year old film teasers are much scarier and more creative than all the shitfest of "horrors" that Hollywood puked out in the last decade, from all the pathetic Kevin Williamson junk to the moronic Chainsaw remake. All right, there were some good films in that wave, too - Wrong Turn, for instance - but they were drowned in all that idiotic remake/crossover/stupid sequel puddle, like diamonds thrown into pig shit.

Stop crying. It looks enjoyable. We know that there is at least one good actor in the film and that there is a killer with a cool MO. What's not to like? Are some of you uncomfortable seeing fat guys get killed (with their shirts off, no less)? I'm not sure that the clown is a robot. I think the mask is hinged. Could be wrong.

I watched the trailer again. Perhaps it is a robot. Now that I think about it, the killer gives the fat guy about two hours to escape. That seems so reasonable that it makes his fate even crueler. Picking a fat guy adds to the drama because there is no way in hell fattie is able to crawl over and under the razor wire without some part of his body hanging down and getting torn. What is that room? How does it seal? Ultimately, this scene reminds me of a contemporary update (serial killer, investigation, video tapes, robots) of the barbed-wire scene in "Suspiria," minus the hot chick and plus the fat guy.

This looks like it could be something special (if an excellent horror film can be described as 'special'), and you guys vomit out the usual "looks like.." and "the 80s were scarier..." garbage. Haven't you noticed that filmmakers have had to struggle against the MPAA & theatre chains for the past 15 years to put out anything that could even be considered marginally terrifying? Forget 'Aliens'. That was tame compared to 'The Hills Have Eyes' or 'Maniac'. Personally, I think this has potential. You can't tell me watching someone in this situation doesn't make you uncomfortable. It reminds me of films like 'Audition' and some early Klaus Kinski stuff. Stop acting like you're too cool for fuckin' school. You don't know what horror is, or you'd be showing us something because those who do... do. Those who can't... BITCH.

YOU CAN'T HANDLE FULL SCREEN VIDEO FUCKTARD!! You don't deserve it you brainwashed lemmingling. PS: All media formats suck when streamed over the interweb so get over it.

Thats not really a good thing either. I think the problem is the trailer or teaser just lacks in narrative. I don't really care that some fat guy is being tortured. That might be the fat fuck in front of me who went 20 miles per hour down the freeway while I was late for work. I'm glad he got raped by sharp wire. I need to know what the story is about before I'm intrigued.

I'm a little tired of movie psychopaths staging overly-elaborate murders. And I'll bet a gold brick that he'll also give clever clues to investigators, fostering his eventual capture (or escape? That's the twist!). I wonder if the killer's seemingly unconnected victims will have something in common. :0

And, awful as "Resurrection" was, I suspect this whole "Saw" - with its ineptness and childishness, especially evident in that moronic tagline - will be even worse. But, of course, it will be hailed as "a masterpiece", because... IT'S AN INDIE FLICK!!! WOOHOO FOR THE INDIA... err, INDIES!!! Oh, BTW, if an American Indian went to India and made an independent film, would it be anti-PC to call it "an indie film"?

And, since a cliched ripoff NEEDS a "twist", it will be Someone We Saw, possibly even Someone We Saw The Whole Time. Hell, he'll probably be one of the two "prisoners", pretending to be his own captive to observe and bond with the actual prisoner, blahblah. Oooh, what a "twist" that would be.

Full credit going to whoever made that tag line. I really don't give gay-cruise fist fuck about anyone will wants to diss the tag-line. To be honest, I've seen a lot of trailers in my life and I have never heard a (fairy)big company promote a film from that angle like lion gate have. The newest tease I didn't really get but the first really is the most disturbing teaser I might of ever seen. It truely horrified me. I think this film and the tag-line is going to piss a lot of people off. TRUST ME.

I checked this pile of crap out at the sundance festival this year, and it was pretty bad. Danny Glover should be ashamed of his acting in it too, pretty much his career low. all in all, pretty cool setup, weak execution, and a laughable ending that will have you leaving the theater going, "damn, i should have watched se7en again instead of this shit".
I wouldn't call it Gothic...
