I myself don't click the links but only because i'm not very good with regards currency exchanges and such, so i go to movietyme.com, but i see no problem having them up there. The enthusiasm in these monthly picks is wonderful, even if not always up to Shakespearian heights of literary worth. lol, i keep looking for Well... its just great. But i love this, and recently these have been the articles ive looked forward to most on the site, especially since y'all went ahead and snubbed my fucking awe-inspiring critiques of Haute Tension and Shaun Of The Dead. Oh well, keep it up, as i regularly hear. It's difficult, honey, i mean i work all day. I gotta lot on my mind! Sheesh. http://www.mondoirlando.com

That DVD is A Perfect Circle: Lost in the Bermuda Triangle. Ok, so it ain't a movie, and in't not a concert dvd of the band. It's an unedited video of "The Outsider." It also has some Bikini Bandits extras. If you've seen the edited and chopped up vid on Fuse, you want to get this small DVD, which will set you back at about $9.99. A fuckin' bargain man!!!! I love when the hot models (Bikini Bandits) ride the lawn deer. And a girl I chat with on the net, is in the video (and yes I know it's truly her, not some phony). She licks a bat (a baseball bat, not the animal. Love the sexual entendres the video has, only to be covered by a fuckin' smiley face edited. Yeah it's on my list of DVD's to get this month along with "ROTK" and the almighty "Bubba Ho-Tep" only cause I missed it in theaters and the DVD looks very appealing and so does the movie.
What the hell are you talking about Harry? I saw "PETER PAN" whe

This film totally robbed the pure gem, the magic, the wonder of "PETER PAN." I mean having when Peter leaves the seas turn to ice, everything is dark and gray. Why do you need to be atmospheric? When Pan left in "HOOK" everything went on all bright and sunny, except the Lost Boys had to defend themselves the best they could. And having the ending be a total "MATRIX" knock-off with Peter Pan and Hook drowned in pixie dust fighting in the air. What a total lump of peanuts and corn-inside-shit. This movie had it's moments, but adding the aunt in this who's son is actually Snidely from Neverland and putting in scenes that were never in the book just totally ruined the movie. I'm looking forward to the Johnny Quest and "Last Sumurai" DVDs, and I also am likely to pick up the original "TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES CARTOON" on DVD also.

This is the disc I'm most looking forward to. Such a shame that between the John Ford/Howard Hawks and Sergio Leone/Sam Peckinpah eras, Anthony Mann & Budd Boetticher have become forgotten as great western directors. Mann's output is better than all of them, save maybe Ford. Anyway, Tin Star is a great movie, and it's nice to see I can finally do away with the crappy AMC taping I have of it.

The 2003 Peter Pan had some flaws, but, overall, I thought it was one terrific film. One of the best of the year. It's the first telling that really anchors the movie in choices and loss, and it has the courage to make Pan the tragic figure he really is, which is a great launching point for discussion with children. ****** I also am looking forward to Crietrion's TESTAMENT OF DR. MABUSE and one I can't believe Harry overlooked: FORCE OF EVIL.

I agree that Ken Watanabe was standout excellent in this cliche ridden movie...and I mean, EVERY cliche was brought out of the recycle bin, repolished and set on screen. SEE! Tom Cruise single-handedly save the cultural soul of japan as a lone japanese man cries on the battlefield. SEE! The indominatible spirit of the warrior get up after being punched down! (this one was the most irritating cliche) It worked well in Cool Hand Luke, but enough is enough!!! I look back in fondness at Richard Chamberlain in Shogun!

Is Harry claiming that "The 300 Spartans" is an adaption of Miller's graphic novel? Because it isn't. Miller had no involvment with this project. What gets me is that Harry acts like Miller created this story. The battle at Thermopylae was an actual historical event as most people on this board probably know (what gets me is that the battle is even refferenced in The Last Samurai - maybe if he payed more attention to the film...). Miller just adapted it, just like the makers of this film. God I find this kind of crap annoying. Another really annoying statement was: "but if you

Just think: I heard on good authory less than a year ago that Ted Turner - who owns these movies - didn't want to release them because he figured then people wouldn't watch them when they ran on TCM; so there was a very good chance that the later Marx Brothers movies would NEVER be released on DVD. Glad sometimes the good guys win. Amazon's already got my money for this set. I can't wait.

Reverend Horton Heat's version of it kick's all kinds of butt! However, somebody once mentioned to me to pay attention during the opening titles for how homer-erotic the glances are between the male characters (Race & Benton, Jonny & Hadji). And, Jeebus, it's true! They gaze into each other's eyes and nod knowingly. It's like tv's first Big Gay Cartoon! (Not counting Bugs Bunny putting on a dress and smooching Elmer Fudd.) Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm just saying...

Bubba-Ho-Tep wasn't a very good movie. At all. It didn't work as a farce, a comedy, a fantasy, or a parody. Bruce's performance was just middling, which was in line with the script, which was appallingly average. And so I see that the movie is out on DVD this month. I'll be keeping my fifteen bucks, thanks.

Assignment for today: explain what, if anything, the film tells us about a) the artistic process or b) Vermeer. Or optionally, don't bother, because it doesn't tell us anything about either of them. If there's such a thing as an art-house exploitation flick -- and there is -- this is it.

...is like fellating the mummified peckers of those greats' corpses instead of eating out Lauren Graham. They're classic, their output is seminal, but they're nowhere near as fresh and yummy. The writing on Gg is the modern incarnation of all the wit once found in those classic comedies, and Harry Knowles goddamned well needs to shove their newly arriving boxed set up his DVD player and recognize.

I agree with you Harry - this film is magical and should grow into a classic. This should have been Jason Isaac's star-maker, perhaps it still will be. Universal totally blew the marketing for this film - the only piece of genuine movie/art they had going last year (okay, Seabiscuit was pretty good, too). Hey, Johnny Quest - love it!

Just thought it should be on the list somewhere. Okay, admittedly, it might have been on there, but it still deserves additional mention. (I lost interest after Johnny Quest). One of the best interpretations of the superman mythos that just gets better and better. I really do not care about the big budget flick in development hell. It can stay there, as long as this show keeps going strong.
