In Buffy 3.1, entitled Anna, Buffy runs away and goes by the name Anne. The character you are probably referring to is Lily, played by Julia Lee, unless this is a really odd way of telling us SMG is coming back. Also, Lily was not introduced in 3.1, but in 2.7, Lie to Me, when she was going by the name Chanterelle... I need a life.
Well Maybe I am just picky but...

I believe the character Anne made here first appearence in episode 2.7 "Lie To Me" She was part of the vampire cult. Of course she took the name of "Anne" at end of that episode 3.1 so I can see why one might get confused.

First appeared in Buffy 2.17 as a member of some cult or something, then in Buffy 3.1 as a runaway in Los Angeles, then a couple years later in the second half of Angel's second season, now running her own teen shelter. I think she in two or three eps - she made an interesting recurring character, and it's nice to know they're having a sort of resolution with her.
Strange how everyone bitches about Anne being in the finale

Sorry, hit the "return" key by mistake. From what I remember, Buffy, calling herself "Anne" works in the shelter in 3.1 and meets Lily and/or Chantrell who remembers her from Sunnydale. After Buffy goes back home, we see her show up in Angel working at the shelter and going under the name of Anne, implying that she's cleaned up her life and taken on Buffy's pseudonym (sp?) as her own.

What happened there. I did not hear of one report from this site. For advertising it I thought at least some story would come out of it here. Anyone attend? If so, how many people showed up? Any actors/actresses from the show arrive?

... NOT. Who the fuck? I don't know if ANYBODY from Buffy is necessary to wrap up Angel. Oh, and I HATE Connor. Boy, that last season rocked, and now THIS... Conner should STAY GONE.

Willow, or someone who is quite big within Buffiverse. I suppose with Anne, there's some continuity at least. Oh, and WB please don't cancel Angel. Please?

it may just be hopeless wishful thinking, but can't we dream a little that MAYBE this is all a not-so-clever ruse and that the "Anne" who appears in the Angel finale is really Buffy Anne Summers? I know Joss and Smidge both said a cameo wouldn't happen -- and I can certainly believe that Smidge wouldn't want to do it, after all the sturm und drang of the final Buffy season -- I get the distinct (obvious) impression that Smidge wants NOTHING to do with the Buffyverse or Mutant Enemy at this point. Got them Scooby Doos to do, ya know. Still, we can always hope that maybe all of this is an elaborate red herring on Team Whedon's part and that Buffy will show up in the Angel finale? No? Oh well, okay...
This save Angel thing was stupid. 5 seasons is a good run...

I mean come one. With shows like Firefly and Wonderfalls being cancelled left and right just be glad that Angel got as much as it got. Personally I'd rather see a show go out on top and not jump the shark and degernate for 2 more seasons cough::X-Files::cough

At the end of the episode where Buffy is in L.A. working as a waitress calling herself Anne, she gives her name tag to Chanterelle/Lilly, whatever and tells her she can be Anne now. That's where she got the name. Geez, now I know I really am a Buffy geek.

The "Anne" the post is referring to is not the same Anne from Buffy 3.1. It's not Lily or Buffy or anyone from that show. ANNE IS THE GIRL WHO RUNS THE SHELTER THAT ANGEL MET IN ANGEL EP 2.12 entitled "Blood Money". Go look it up. Or pop in your DVD set. The character's name is Anne and she runs a shelter for runaways. The runaway shelter- runner in Buffy 3.1 was some evil demon she killed, so it's obviously not that one. I can see how Herc could make the mistake though.

I laugh at you guys who have this encyclopeidc knowledge of episode titles and numbers, but can't remember something as simple as plot and dialogue. All three girls (the one from "Lie to Me, "Anne", and "Blood Money") are the same. The confusion exist because the writers forgot that Angel had met her in "Lie to Me" when they wrote "Blood Money". At the end of the episode "Anne", she changed her name.
CULT TV IS DEAD

Yup folks, thats right. The cancellation of Angel was pretty inevitable if you think about it;over the past two years several high profile genre shows were axed before their time (Farscape, Dark Angel)or didn't even complete their first season (Firefly, Jake2.0).Enterprise is hanging on by its balls, and is still around only because of Star Trek's legacy. The networks are sensing that the golden years of cult TV are over so they have pulled the plug on Angel now, even though it was good enough to last a seven season run.The question now is:is there a new creative genius out there of the Chris Carter/Joss Whedon ilk who can come up with an amazing show that will set the ball rolling again? Personally, I doubt it.
I for one think it's a good thing...

I liked how they always carried on with Chanterelle/Lilly/Anne's story, so I think it's totally appropriate that they'd give us one final glance, or maybe even give us closure to her story.

Buffy 2.7 "Lie to Me" - Chantarelle appears (also known as Joan) as part of the vampire-loving cult Buffy 3.1 "Anne" - Chantarelle appears, this time going by the name Lily. Buffy explains to her that Chantarelle is the name of a mushroom. At episode's end, Lily asks Buffy if she can borrow her pseudonym (Anne) as she won't be using it any longer. Angel 2.12 "Blood Money" - Anne appears (credited with the last name "Steele") as the new shelter organizer Angel 2.14 "The Thin Dead Line" - Anne Steele appears again (I think this is the one with the zombies attacking the shelter) Angel 5.22 "Not Fade Away" - Anne Steele drinks a beer and cheets on her wife. Chantarelle, Joan, Lily, and Anne played by Julia Lee. Hope that helps.

I'm a member of the We-Hate-Connor brigade but I still can't get out of my mind the image of a happy Connor at the end of last years finale. It put a lump in my throat. So to see him again really brings out my curious side. What is he doing? I also think it was a mistake to have the gang have their memories erased of Connor. What was the purpose of that? As for SMG I still say replace her. Here Jennifer Garner is pledging lifelong allegiance to her character on "Alias" while SMG can't show up for a cameo?

I am a HUGE, HUGE (did I happen to mention HUGE fan?) of David Boreanaz and Angel/ATS fan for the last eight and a half years and I am trying to get the word out about an ad in which we plan to thank David for all his contributions to the show and to his fans over the years. The ad is to be placed in June (actors) edition of the Hollywood Reporter as not to interfere with any renew Angel campaigns. It
