I read that Gyllenhaal was considered for Spidey, and he would have been fine for that. But the Hornet is more of a seasoned crimebuster--he brings the experience, and Kato handles the physical stuff. I'm sure Hollywood's thinking in terms of a franchise with youth-appeal, so they're hiring young. As long as it doesn't end up looking like BUGSY MALONE, with a 15-year-old Scott Baio playing gangster.

THE ASSASSINATION OF JESSE JAMES BY THE COWARD ROBERT FORD ... why don't they just get Jesse James to play Jesse James? (WEST COAST CHOPPERS) Kinda curious as to if he could pull it off more than anything. *grin* Anyway.. Out of all of those movies listed only Rush Hour 3 and The Green Hornet sound good. The others are just RETARDED with a capital R. MISS CONGENIALITY 2?? God as if the first one wasn't bad enough. SEED OF CHUCKY?? Jesus Tap Dancing Christ.. what jackass actually thinks those movies are good or even Scary for that matter. I saw the first Chucky and I thought it was a comedy/parody of something. Then I found out they were trying to be serious and I laughed for about 4 hours straight. The rest sound like typical hollywood mainstream abortions. Now MONEY TALKS.. yeah that was okay.. but why make a second one? Guess I'll Chalk that one up to typical summer "Take your Girlfriend to see the funny black guy - but get a Blowjob instead" movie.

I still can't belive you haven't gone ape shit over the idea of Steven Spielberg helming WotW, whether or not you would support it. I mean, this could be the biggest thing to come out of 2005/2006.

A Chuckie movie? ... What a waste of her talents. ... The only thing that could be worse is being roped into doing the next howling sequil.

I hope this movie makes it big. The series was hilarious, and I was devastated when it was pulled from the air. Amy Sedaris should star, but I guess to attract a bigger audience they got Sarah Jessica Parker? Who's gonna be Principal Blackman? First: Jennifer Tilly, aka the hottest woman in film, was in Bride of Chucky. She was, unsurprisingly, painfully hot, Second: Bride of Chucky was a damn fun flick. If you haven't seen it, shut up about it. Better than Cabin Fever? Yeah (sorry, Eli). Better than Jason vs. Freddy? Well, scrappier, and funner. Plus it had Tilly, so yeah. Thirdly, I would like to marry Jennifer Tilly. Fourth rule is, eat kosher salami. I need sleep. "Ice Harvest" is a great book... read it before the movie comes out. Great hardboiled thriller, with a nice black sense of humor.
She was in Bride of Chuckie?

I guess her carrear really is on the downward slide. ... I just looked up some recent pics of her. Shes starting to look bloated, just shy of *thick*. ... Anf the imdb says shes 45. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.

there's no way sarah jessica parker is going to be in the jerri blank role. obviously. that part is amy sedaris' and she'll be doing it. broderick and parker are going to be supporting characters dumbasses.

What is up with the PETER SELLERS remakes?

Tom Hanks especially -- the Ladykillers and Forrest Gump, which was partly a Being There rip off. But especially in the Pink Panther flicks, Sellers' character is almost the point of the entire movie, why would anyone try to re-create this? Certainly, Steve Martin does not have the same type of presence Sellers did. I'm not sure what the point of a Pink Panther remake is.

With Kevin Kline taking the Herbert Lom part, this does raise one interesteing question: Wouldn't Kilne be better than Steven Martin in the Clouseau role and Martin as Dreyfuss?
So is Chan out?

This is the second Pink Panther update I've seen in a row that completely failed to mention Jackie Chan's participation. Did he take a powder on this one? Wouldn't really surprise me if he did. I had a hard time imagining him "dumbing down" his moves so that he could believably engage in a fight with Steve Martin. Anyways, I agree that I'm not really looking forward to this one, especially since it's such a character-driven franchise, HOWEVER - this series has been dragged through the manure for 25 years now, so any hope of maintaining the dignity of the Pink Panther name has long gone, and I can't possibly imagine a scenario where it isn't at least significantly better than the last two installments.

Peter Sellers' performance, Henry Mancini's music, and Friz Freling's animated titles. All three men are gone now, let the series rest in peace. Blake Edwards and MGM need to stop sucking on the bones of these three departed geniuses.
Have Kline and Martin trade roles.

Friz Freling animated the original titles ,which CREATED the character. Richard Williams' title sequences, while they may be superior to Freling's, were done years after the Pink Panther had appeared in his own series of shorts and TV shows. I actually like Blake Edwards' (earlier) work, (The Great Race is one of my all time favorites) but his other films certainly went downhill after Sellers died.
WotW w/ Tom Cruise: Ack-Thppppt!

Doesn't that automatically mean a dumbed down special effects actioner? I want to see someone like Depp in Well's original everyman role. If Cruise is the lead, he'll just HAVE to be the hero. In the original, the main character was just kinda scuttling around, laying low, avoiding death-rays and being an observer. And before anyone says: that's boring, no, it doesn't have to be. And is post-Victorian England the setting? It better.
