Terada takes the original Monkey King story(not the DragonBall bastardization) and makes is if we are watching/reading the classic story of Journey to the West on acid. The story, the art eokes memories of Simon Bisley, but better. Terada has become one of the best unsung artists in Japan today, but sadly all we know him as is the character designer for BLOOD: The Last Vampire anime and manga. Volume 1 of his Monkey story can be found at yesasia.com, hoping for Volume 2 soon.

because most anime is generic recycled crap and suburban white kids think that they're cultured by watching them. ghost in the shell was cool, and akira i guess, that's about it. but measuring these movies by the standards one would apply to a regular live-action movie shows them for what they are... just pretty cool movies, not incredible masterpieces, and don't even get me started on the rest of the shit out there (oh wait i guess i kinda already am). watch out.... if there are moving lines behind you, that means you're attacking someone!! aaah!!! it's a cool art style, but after you graduate high school, it starts getting a little old. whatever, i'm just bored....

if not, you don't have a clue about anime. Go watch GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES or EVANGELION or any of the omnibus films (NEO-TOKYO, ROBOT CARNIVAL, and MEMORIES) and get back to us.
